Here are some questions for Catholics:1.) Do you believe idolatry and blasphemy is wrong? 2.) Do you pray to? Mary, the dead Saints, God, all three? 3.) Do you believe that Jesus is risen from the gave? 4.) Do you believe you re-kill Jesus each mass, and eat Him and drink His blood during the sacraments? 5.) Do you believe in macro evolution? 6.) Do you believe the popes are chosen to be the mouthpiece of God? |

The thing we need to remember is that when Charles Wesley wrote, "And can it be" it was contemporary Christian music, contemporary means new, now we need to ask, "What is the genre of music and what are the lyrics?"Most of the new hymns or whatever you want to call it have poor or heretical theology in it, which should not be sung, and exalts man rather than God. So contemporary Christian music is not bad per se. In all honesty pastor Jon, your argument has some points yet I feel it is...flawed in a sense, there are good restaurants (Chick fil a and bad restaurants (Hooters) so really where you go to eat and what you are to eat is to glorify God...so that 2pound applewood smoked bacon burger isn't a healthy and doesn't glorify God...just thought I'd through that in there. But there are good restaurants you can go to that have healthy food, might be expensive, point is it can, in a sense, be compared to the music, there are obvious lyrics that don't glorify God and then lyrics that do glorify God, that's the healthy stuff. Now the genre is where you get into wars, is rapping wrong? Disco? Can you rap Amazing grace? The answer is yes, does it glorify God? Questions I would ask, "Why are you rapping it? Where did you get it from? Who is your audience? What is your g |

I hope I'm not being accused of Anti-Semitism, if so that is lame, what I'm saying is that Judaism is a cult, and penned thanks for the Talmud info, I need to buy a book or two now, that makes...7 I think If what I have heard about the Talmud is true, it is extremely an blasphemous cult, if I be called or labeled Anti-Semitism so be it, my Lord Jesus, deserves all glory. Here is an interesting exercise, if you have the time think of 5 things you would consider being worthy of death, capital punishment. Don't look at the next line until you've thought about those five things. _______________________________________________________________________ Was blasphemy one of the five? Do we the church truly esteem the name of God as glorious, a sacred name, a name to be feared? |

That is true Mike, I think we (the church) need to ask questions like, "Who is God, can you explain what He's like?" For an idolater, they will describe themselves, because they created their god in their own image. We (the church) need to learn to ask probing questions, there is something called the four questions in Creation/Evolution, it is, What do you mean by that? (A clarifying question) What difference does it make if you're right? What if you're wrong? I forgot the other, there only might be three, who cares point is to ask questions that touch the intellect and theology. If Evangelize is right, God can change matters on Hell or Heaven, suffering, send angels to aid in war or create war, He can create new life forms etc. Ideas have consequences. We need to expose those wrong ideas that God may get the glory He deserves, that we may be a true and faithful ambassador of Christ. |
