This claim has been made several times over the years, and every one, on further examination, has proved to be false. Of course no media outlet is going to take the time to dig deep enough, especialy if the outlet is secular.

Although I do not see the denominations previous stance of Psalms only with no instruments as being biblical, they were nevertheless, not being reactionary when they came up with the idea. The free church and likeminded churches, is a very old denomination, and they did not come up with their position by looking at modern culture and deciding to do the oppisite. The charge of "being willing to die rather than adapt" may not be a fair assesement. Some times it's a matter of "being willing to die rather than comprimise the truth of scripture ". But, it would appear that the Free church does not fit these catagories. They are willing to change. But not because they see it in the Bible. They are doing so in order to get a crowd. Jesus was willing to have most of the people turn back from following him Jn. 6:66 rather than have a watered down following. The bottom line is that we should seek to worship God reverently according to His word, rather than entertain the lost just to get a crowd.
Best regards my brother.

Wait a minute. The liberal agenda is who re wrote the text books years ago, deleating God and Christians from involvement in out country. The folks spoken of in this article, are just restoring the accounts that were found in all textbooks prior to 1964. The title to this article is liberal double talk that tries to make christians and conservatives look like interlopers that are trying to re write history. When in fact, they are trying to restore what the history books originaly said.

Same thing here Scott. Even before the Circus Churches most growth was only Transfer Growth. In the city I live in there were about five or six churches that traded members based on a few criterea that was in no way scriptural. A better question to ask would be "is actual church attendance climbing, staying the same, or declining. Also 10yrs. from now, many of these fad churches may go under. I hope you have a solid church in your area. If not, start one.

Iv'e been in Alabama for 40yrs.and have never seen a campaign that was not mud slinging. As to the Evolution add and the response, I havn't heard the response yet. But I do know that there are now people who say that are conservative, that say they believe in creation, and that say they believe every word of the Bible, but yet beleive in Evolution. It's realy Neo Liberalism. They simply re interpret the meaning of the word Day and Created and say that God used evolution. The best question to ask is "Do you believe that God created the world, out of nothing, in six literal 24 hour consecutive days?" I don't know if that's Byre's position or not, but it is worth asking.

If you watch so called christaian T.V. you will wonder what has hapened to Christianity in America. Many stations have the most demonic looking ,and sounding, rock groups and videos of dungeons that look like horror films. So called christian concerts with slam dancing. And church sevicis that look like a circus. We wonder how it got so bad so fast. Well; before we messed with the Church service, and the Music (to make them look more like the God hating world) we messed with the Bible. Now there are people that think we need a New Translation every 10 yrs. just to keep up with the Culture (World)Once you start messing with the Word of God, nothing is off limits. Thankfuly there are still those who are satisfied with the KJV.

Good research. This shows that early documents did have the entire verse.

A Christian resident of the desert town and the widow of late Jewish Defense League head Irv Rubin filed a lawsuit Tuesday that claims the invocations violate separation of church and state.
Must be one of those "Christian Athiest" like Dawkins said he was. I guess they would rather have a satanist like Anton Levey have the prayer.

The college’s current position on homosexuality is based on its interpretation of scripture.
Here is the mistake. Their decision (which was right)is based, not On Scripture, but on Their Interpretation of Scripture. Time will come, when Their Interpretation will be guided by the culture at large. Then, even though the Scripture itself conrtadicts homosexuality, Their Interpretation will allow it. Unless of course, they are willing to take the Scripture at face value regardless of communities of interpreters

Guess we should have built a Buddhist Temple at Pearl Harbor after WWII. This is the same non sense that Israel after they had a war with someone. They started worshiping the idol of that nation.

Turns out there is an entire denomination of Gay churches. Called the Metropolitan Community Church (not at all to be confused with Londons Metropolitan Church). When I told someone of it, they naturaly asked,"What Kind of bible could they possibly use"? The only thing I could think of was that they must be using the Homosexual International Version. The HIV for short.
I guess that would be a Per Version wouldn't it?

I actualy started preaching in a Park in 1975. Even then there was a lot of hostility when we named particular sins such as homosexuality.(Of course it was our aim to point people to Jesus) But we would have never believed that it would be society at large and even the law that would one day be the source of persecution. God raise up more Street Preachers that will have the courage it takes to get the job done.

Profesing themselves to be wise, they became fools. In the face of 40yrs. of data to the conrtary, here is yet another group that is going to bring about the very problem they seek to avoid. I guess the old saying "The people that God would judge, He first makes stupid" applies here.

As to the NIV, I think I may have found an exelent recourse at http://www.trinitarianbiblesociety.org/site/articles/niv.asp It seems to address about all the issues I need to find. The new church I'm at seems hopelessly addicted to the NIV. At first they didn't mind that I used the KJV, but since I preach expositionaly, it is becoming obvious that there are a lot of discrepencies between what I'm reading and what they are reading. Even among new translations, the NIV is saying something different than all the others. But the folks just keep comparing the NIV with the NIV so they don't see any problem. There are at least three problems I have found with the NIV. 1. Philosophy Transalation. The NIV is thought for thought instead of Word for Word. 2.The Text it is translated from. 3. Two homosexuals were on the translation commitee. At best, it is a very shallow paraphrase, and seems to produce shallow results.

Could someone give some differences between the NIV and KJV. Most of these discussions have dealt with the NASB and KJV. In my experience the NIV is more widly used and is much more errant.
