Jim supports the mass murder of unborn babies, Jewish or not. It’s just a matter of time before he supports the murder of born ones if judgement tarries or unless he repents. Idolatrous heathens who refuse to repent just go deeper into sin and uncleanliness. He supports LGBTQ+ behavior and confusion. He loves what God hates and hates what God loves.

Yes, Stevenr, some discretions are advisable. Eating wildlife has been known to cause Coronavirus in the Far East so let’s be sure to cook all meat thoroughly before eating it. Doc should definitely label his possum subs and grub worm salad. Extra mayonnaise might help too.

I believe that an absolute monarchy with a good king is the best form of government. If the king is bad the government is very bad; if the king is good the government is very good.

Using freedom and abusing freedom are two different things.

Yes, but the Scripture says:

“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fire away, but remember this:

“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:36‬ ‭NKJV‬

At one point, John Calvin apparently didn’t believe in any kind of singing at all during church but later changed his mind. So there’s hope for Brother John UK.

Stevenr, I think I could agree with you on everything except for the sandwiches during the worship service. Let’s do it before or after, preferably after so we don’t fall asleep during the service. I’m getting hungry already.

Uncle Sam, we are trying to have a sober discussion on here about real things. Your comment doesn’t seem to be appropriate.

Total depravity

Preservation of the saints

What exactly is not biblical about that?

“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Please do not misunderstand me. I am not saying we should give God’s glory to man. I am saying that we should glorify God by obeying His command to honor all people including those in authority. No matter what you call it. Boast, proud of, thankful for, respect, honor, appreciate, esteem, admire, look up to, value, cherish, adore, venerate.... ...it’s not so much the specific word that we call it but that we do it. Different people will use different words. That is normal. That is fine. Honor all people. Honor the president.

What does honor mean if it doesn’t mean honor? I have heard folks who are quick to bless God and to curse their fellow man and especially their (or other countries’)government officials even though they enjoy peace, freedom, and prosperity in their homeland. Our sinful hearts are naturally caustic, bitter, mean, negative, stringent, rough, grumpy, cynical, pessimistic, and cruel, etc. We need to learn from a gracious God how to be gracious ourselves, not just towards God but towards our fellow humans. Honor all people. Respect all people. Don’t just go around bashing people. If we got what we deserved from God, we would all be in hell right now. The Chinese are not worse sinners than Iran or America.

“The concept of boasting above is about to celebrate, or commend.” —B. McCausland.

That’s why many people who see themselves as very righteous won’t celebrate birthdays or express appreciation or commendation to those who have done well in something except to God only. They think that acknowledging someone or something as good or kind is stealing glory from God. I do not have the time to prove that they are totally wrong on this thread, but as for me, I see some of those places in Scripture that allow for commendation and celebrating good, enjoyable, or lovely things and people in your life while giving all the glory to God. Allegedly, even the Puritans struggled with this. I hear that some of them would purposefully make a small defect in a hand-crafted item to show that they were not perfect like God. That’s a real head-scratcher for me.

“Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.”
‭‭James‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
