Greetings in The Mighty Name of Jesus! Are you aware that ]] Boko Haram is not a place but an Islamic terrorist organisation? The only way they need our help is to pray for their salvation and that God would convict their consciences not to abduct, hurt, and kill innocent people.

May the heinous crimes against Christians embolden our brethren to proclaim Christ all the more!

"And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear."

"John said to him, 'Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.' But Jesus said, 'Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. For the one who is not against us is for us.'"

Mark 9:37-40 (ESV)

Greetings Dorcas in Jesus Name, Maybe God has a plan for John right where he is? I certainly understand after you explained that you are pleading with John out of love for him, yet I have seen people on sermonaudio.com pleading with John not to attend the Roman Catholic services for perhaps almost ten years. The man in the above Scripture was faced with Jesus' followers trying to stop him from doing God's work because he was not in the same geographical proximity as Jesus disciples, and Jesus did not ask them to implore him further but to accept that the man was for Jesus.

This looks more like the: "People Scolds John Yurich" thread to me!

"Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand."

Romans 14:4 (ESV)

I see what Ham is saying about the the marketing of Carnival and the danger of drawing people into their patronage through evolutionary ideologies. Through God's Word all things were spoken into existence, and through Him is forgiveness of sins.

I enjoyed reading his message! I am not a Catholic, yet it is a compelling message which needs to be said. As believers we know that the Pope is flesh and blood like any other man. This means we can pray for him to be a godly influence on people. God hears us when we pray for anyone! I discern from reading Matthew 25:31-46 that neglect is a great sin.

Thank you Frank, Penny, Christopher, and Unprofitable Servant for your prayers. I need prayers as I am so extremely lonely and down as well as having mental and physical disabilities. I had a Christian friend who visited last week after not having seen her for years. She was eager to see me again and arranged to come over this week too with her children to watch Veggie Tales while we visited. It seemed to good to be true that I was going to have a life with happiness and friendship. She ended up booking a weekly activity for her child on the one day she and I both had free in a week. I have caregivers look after me, and that take up a lot of time. Last year I had NOT ONE friend visit me, and now that my hopes were up I feel shattered.

In keeping with the topic it disappoints me when modesty is usually referred to as being the sole responsibility of women. This, in a day when many men wear tight clothes to show off their sculpted bodies. And, men/pastors making sexual or flirtatious jokes at Church. Women are required at fundamentalist Churches to have long hair and skirts, but the men are clean shaven with modern haircuts wearing nice suits looking something like out of a GQ Magazine.

Deuteronomy refers to cross dressing not the wearing of pants or breeches. We need to be honest here. Both men and women wore tunics back then.
I believe God called women especially to be modest in their dressing as He knew men are visual creatures. A woman can wear skirts that are tight and short and be immodest. A woman can wear loose pants that give her shape no definition.
Putting it down to whether you wear a skirt or pants would be unreasonable. I know godly women who wear pants and who wear skirts.
And it is more modest to Wear pants with a long shirt when you are doing an active activity such as hiking or playing sport.
I agree, may God bless you! As I'm a shut-in and am so disabled I am not able to dress myself, I live in pajamas - please pray for me!

I have been taking philosophy at my local college this semester, and last class there were a lot of unhappy students when I brought up creationist aspects to counteract an argument (promoting evolution) which was from our textbook. The class was groaning, and another student said I was wasting the class's time.

I asked the professor after class if I was wasting the class's time, and he said I was not and that is why he did not shut me up.

Romans 1:18-21 NKJV

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened."

The Jewish Scriptures are clear that people should not be touching dead bodies. Our God and Creator understands that there are dangerous microbes, and gives these commands to protect us!

"Whoever touches a dead person, the body of anyone who has died, and does not cleanse himself, defiles the tabernacle of the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not thrown on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is still on him."

We have a special place for the deaf to sit and they have someone that signs to them as the songs are sung and the message is given. They sign during the songs and to me it is very moving watching them worshipping God in their own way. At the nursing homes and assisted living places we sang the song leader would always have older songs for them to sing along to eg Amazing Grace, At the Cross. I noticed that when we would sing those songs with them, heads were raised that had been down and joy seemed to fill the room as these precious people would sing out those songs that they knew and loved so well. Just us and a piano player brought joy to them and to us. To me that's real worship from the heart.
Thank you Dolores and thanks be to God, an excellent testimony that brings God praise, hallelujah!

I have been to church services where the volume is so loud, that I have felt agitated and concerned about damage to my hearing. Jesus and the early church did not use electrical amplifiers, and therefore I believe they are unnecessary in worship.

"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same."

Thank you for your thoughts Rodney and Dolores!

On a happier note: my husband brought me a surprise today! The New Testament on CD, read by James Earl Jones! Oh my, praises to our Father in Heaven, through The Son, and the blessed Holy Spirit!

I'm listening right now! Yay!

What blasphemy to accuse "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" of lying. Jesus spoke only those words that were given to Him by the Father. It is impossible for God to lie. This dude's postmodern thinking not only denigrates the Almighty and undermines the authority of His word, it also makes Jesus a sinner and therefore an unworthy, insufficient propitiation. Shame on him and shame on the so-called "churches" that have neglected to teach even basic theology to their people.
[...] those people caught up in postmodern neo-orthodoxy would prefer to make up a "Jesus" in their own minds than to study God's word to find out what He says about Himself.
I agree, yes, and amen!

The Words of Jesus in John 8:43-45 (NIV):

"Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!"

"“I just want to encourage everyone of us to realize when we obey God, we’re not doing it for God – I mean, that’s one way to look at it – we’re doing it for ourselves, because God takes pleasure when we’re happy."

This could be a natural development of the Arminian ideology, we observe so often on the board.

I believe Mrs. Olsteen is more righteous than myself, because she equates obeying God with being happy! O how often, have I obeyed God's commandments, and like Jonah, have been miserable and angry about it!

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"

~ 1 Peter 4:17 KJV

God's plans for His servants are His business, and before Him, not we, shall they stand or fall (Romans 14:4). I believe, John 21: 20-23, is evidence that we should not be looking for the faults we think may be in other believers. And that our foremost duty is to follow Christ Who died for the remission of our sins.

Whatever our Saviour says unto you, these are Words of Life for you, follow Him!

Hi Jessica...the reason I add that sometimes is because some have said in the past, "who cares", so I just try to beat them to it...ha-ha.
Sadly, I guess some people are not interested in getting know their brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus? I believe we should be interested in the lives of the brethren: after all, are we are all a part of The Body of Christ!

Also, if Christians followed Jesus' admonishments to visit the sick (]]Matthew 25:36), I would never be lonely. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." And we know His commandments are for us to love one another as Jesus has loved us (]]John 13:34)!

Is the Freedom from Religion Foundation trying to erase any semblance of "one nation under God," and refusing children to know the Biblical history and influence of the USA? I believe it is a probability they are using their influence and wealth over the courts to bully those who lack the financial backing to defend their businesses or schools in the judicial system.

"They have set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue parades through the earth. [...] They say, 'How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?'”

~ Psalm 73:9, 11 NASB

"Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?"

"But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself,' you do well;"

~ James 2:6-8 NKJV
