I answered why some choose to believe and others don’t. What some people want to know is why specific people believe and others don’t. The Bible doesn’t give a case for each individual person.

“Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:22-24‬

In this case the man didn’t want to give up any riches that he had. It’s different for different people.

Also, I said “are ye” was current tense which means that the Gentile’s salvation is what should be considered the gift of God because the act of grace shown them and their own faith are past tense, while the gift was yet to be received. They had not yet entered into eternal life.

John for JESUS wrote:
I keep hearing that salvation isn’t even in the verse, then what does the word “saved” mean? The Gentile believers received salvation by grace, through faith! That salvation they received was not because of anything they did to earn it, it is the gift of God.
Grace was what they were shown and faith is what they had in order to be saved, those things were in the past for them. However, the gift of God is what was happening right now. Whatever you think “it” is must be something that was still considered the gift of God. Grace was already shown and faith was already something they had in order to be saved. The only thing current tense would be their salvation, which was still their gift from God.‬
Sister B,

I believe J4J's post demonstrates much better than I could explain what happens when the rules of grammar are abandoned for a complex text such as Eph 2:8. Personal bias is free to draw out a meaning contrary to the Author's intent.

Thanks for the clarification and accept my apology for misunderstanding.

. . .

J4J,

Rom 5:15 the grace of God, and the gift **by** grace..

Rom 5:16 the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith...

Hollywood, theater, movies, drama's actors, actresses...... and Disney.

This 'industry' is ALL as demonic as witches.

Liberalism, feminism, adultery, lust, sodomism, transism and all forms of modern corruption are supported and portrayed by them as acceptable. They are part of Satan's club.
All now to be found on mobile phones!!

The church in previous centuries used to reject the theater and all its fictions and taught the congregation not to go there.

Quote:-
"Young men, time would fail me if I were to tell you all the fruits this love of pleasure produces, and all the ways in which it may do you harm. Why should I speak of revelling, feasting, drinking, gambling, THEATRE going, dancing, and the like? Few are to be found who do not know something of these things by bitter experience. And these are only instances. All things that give a feeling of excitement for the time,—all things that drown thought, and keep the mind in a constant whirl,—all things that please the senses and gratify the flesh;—these are the sort of things that have mighty power at your time of life, and they owe their power to the love of pleasure. Be on your guard. Be not like those of whom Paul speaks, “Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God” (2 Tim. 3:4)." (J C Ryle).

Yes, but the question is, "Why?"

Why are they not willing? Why will they not follow Christ? Why do they love darkness? Why do they hate light?

The reason all don’t believe is because not all are willing to hear the truth so as to believe, not all are willing to confess their sins before God, not all want to follow Him because they love darkness rather than light. The reason people believe is because once confronted with the truth, they don’t choose to ignore it or disregard it, they hear of how God so loved the world and sent His Son to die for the forgiveness of their sins that they reciprocate that love in repentance and faith. Maybe it is that they are more honest about the truth and grateful for what Jesus has done for them. That is less a reflection on how good they are because they are still sinners in need of the Savior, but it is a reflection of how wicked those are who will not obey the call of the gospel!

Scroll down to the article entitled:

Franklin Graham: Minister of Christ or Priest of Baal? / August 14, 2009
"And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them." 1 Kings 18:28

Now, I need to get to that conclusion I mentioned. Franklin Graham considers himself a preacher of the gospel, a minister of God. But I ask the reader, in fact, I challenge the whole Christian church to judge righteous judgment by the Scriptures. True ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ do not facilitate, promote, and encourage crude, frenzied, sexualized, even violent worship as acceptable to the Lord. No, just the contrary. It is the heathens who have always worshipped their false gods in that very way. Certainly the priests of Baal on Mt. Carmel come immediately to mind as one example. So my conclusion then is that Franklin Graham is no minister of Christ; rather he is a minister of Baal and ought to be exposed, rebuked, and resisted for the glory of God and the good of His church.

Sure it is, for it is the power of God unto salvation.

But it is obviously not the power of God to all, but only a small remnant who believe it. The question has to be asked then, "Why did these believe it and the others rejected it?"

1. Because they were more intelligent

2. Because they were gullible

3. Because they had more sense

4. Because they used logic

5. Because they desperately wanted something to believe in

6. None of the above

he encouraged Christians to shoulder their responsibilities to pray, register to vote, become informed, help elect “godly people,” and vote. What was meant by “godly” Bright did not specify, but he argued strongly that electing “ungodly” people would lead to America’s ruin, [Frankie and other Trumpians note that❗] which would threaten world evangelism.

The way God changes minds is through the gospel message.

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:14‬

It certainly isn’t through Calvinist dogma that people believe! It isn’t even scriptural. They think if they repeat the same words that are found in the Bible, they can pour into them any sort of meaning they want.

It sure looks like we are to conclude this was merely a rhetorical question.
Is that a rhetorical statement, Mike? Or open to investigation?

The RIP farewell to the dead derives from the RC wish for their dead to be free from any possible torment in the uncertainty of the after death.
On a railway arch not far from Rugby in Warwickshire, I saw that someone had painted the following: Sid Vicious - Rest in Peace.

And I thought to myself, "Sid is not at rest, and he is certainly not at peace, where he has gone; for he has arrived securely in hell where he will be punished for his sins, in torment and with no further opportunity to change tack."

And I felt very grateful that the Lord did not choose to leave me in mine own sins, but brought me up out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and put a new song in my mouth, even praise to my God.

Sister B,

In fact, most movies that are produced lately aren't worth watching, and sodomy and sodomy themes seem to be a part of their main productions now and not just Disney, but all movies and TV shows that are produced and released. Thank GOD for SermonAudio and its millions of sermons to watch/listen to. Between sermons and listening to or reading my Bible, I am content and don't need or want to listen to, or watch any of the profane, evil, disgusting, but popular ungodliness that constantly inundates the media. People need to keep closer watch on what their children are being exposed to. Too much filth!

Article: Franklin Graham: Minister of Christ or Priest of Baal? (scroll down - pics)

Rock the River is the proud brainchild of BGEA president/CEO Franklin Graham, who also briefly preached the Graham gospel several times during each of the six to seven hour "Christian" rock concerts. Mr. Graham was very open about his reason for making use of head-banging rock, hip-hop, and even a mosh pit set up by BGEA. "We're just changing the lure. Kids today love rock music. We're giving them the music they like and understand" (Quad City Times, Aug. 9, 2009). Now, much could, and should, be said about using sensual, in some cases even sexualized, rock bands to "lure" young people into hearing the gospel according to Franklin Graham. The same is true of Graham's open collusion with Roman Catholics in the planning of Rock the River.

. . . is Franklin Graham's notion of what is worship acceptable to the Lord. The Scriptures have much to say on that very issue, for instance: "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness" (Ps. 29:2) and "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him" (Ps. 89:7).
