Calling people "maggots" and "parasites" isn't the most congenital language. I don't agree with their politics and think they are dangerous to the country but that kind of response just makes things worse.

I don't have a big problem with welcoming sinners who need Jesus, but I do have a problem with affirming their sin.

LT Golightly was correct 29 years ago. And it is incomprehensible that he is forced to resign today for published thoughts all those years ago. But such is the new orthodoxy.

Women do not belong in the military. I spent 20 years in the Service & can say this unequivocally. The sexual component to unit dynamics destroys more than it adds. Units never have all their members, distrust is rampit. Worst, young people are put into situations in which morals and marriages are potentially compromised.

Absolutely agree, Dr. Tim. Like the other story in which the President decried these attacks on the foundation of this nation, faith in Jesus Christ. It's going to get louder.

Thank you, Brother Carl, for yet another solid post full of wisdom. While the world has no business directing the body of Christ, the clear teaching of the Bible is against such divisions. I often consider Revelation 7:9-17 which shows a mass of people from every ethnicity and language before the Throne. That's the pattern we are to conform to. We're going to be celebrating the Father and the Lamb for eternity together. That should start now.

Abeka is a rigorous and very well respected curriculum source. Like BJU, parents can consider what and how they present information to be safe in terms of content having a Foundamental foundation.

Ladies like Mrs. Horton have contributed greatly to the raising of homeschooled children in the nurture and admonision of the Lord as well as forwarded the homeschool movement. All of us should hope, pray, and work to have that kind of positive impact for our Lord.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into My rest."

Teacher unions and so-called experts drive a lot of what happens inside schools, parental involvement or not, Carl.

Amen, Neil. Looking at my mother who was a teenager in 1940s, her church was sliding toward increased liberalism. She got a full dose in what should have been a safe PCUS junior college which she repeated thru my childhood many decades later. I would love to know what my grandparents thought of these changes, but they both passed in the 1960s and the damage was long since done. It's venom has continued since then.

While Dr. Tim has a point, social justice did indeed another gospel.

The purpose of the church is not to educate parishioners on high profile behavioral challenges. It is to be the body of Christ and about the good works of sharing the true Gospel while being salt and light in the world...and others I'm sure can refine that better than me.

The world does not define the work of the church. The Head of the body does.

"Love is love," is a derivation of one of the world's 1970 prophets song that proclaimed that "any love is good love."

The Lord defines these terms differently and establishes boundaries. This behavior being established as normal is outside of those boundaries.

This is a natural outgrowth of crowd-sourced morality.

I'm not sure I did anything but reframe your question differently, Brother John.

The concept of education is an interesting one. If the Lord through Jesus Christ created all things, then study of those things should reveal the Lord's "fingerprints" and His glory. Whether or not those observations and knowledge are willingly surpressed is another matter. Not sure how to state a cogent point in summary at this point, but perhaps you can see where I'm going.

...con't...

Then there is another problem in content taught. We all have original sin & typically don't need any help to sin, but much of what we complain about is what is taught which is against Biblical teaching.

Difficult topic to explain or explain away. Thanks for raising it!

Brother John, you have raised a valid question about the Biblical authority surrounding government operation, although the point you raise is more specifically to education.

I'm not sure you will find those principles in total in your Bible. I don't see many of them in mine. Perhaps that's because the Bible is a book of 2 Tim 3:16 uses for believers in Christ/redeemed by Christ and churches (groups of believers/redeemed). Certain principles do obviously apply and the responsibility to educate is given to fathers in both the OT & NT.

Parents have options today though to delegate that authority to a school or do it themselves. At the loosest interpretation, dad is still responsible.

The problem comes when the state, via the school, attempts or succeeds in usurping parental authority & responsibility.

Glad for that good news, Brother John. Still, my prayer is that our sovereign Lord is at work, changing hearts and bringing many to Himself, both in HK and the mainland PRC.

Grateful for that half of the population who have the ability to emigrate with a UK passport, Brother John.

One never knows what the Lord will do, and the estimates of those who believe in Christ within the PRC usually are stated to be very large numbers. More grateful that the Lord's will is done. Still, my plea is for those Brothers- and sisters-in-Christ who are being persecuted.

Are there any protests outside of Chinese Embassies and Consulates? If Black lives matter, then Hong Kong lives ought to matter too.

I think we all saw this coming.

O Lord, in the midst of this darkening gloom, may You cause Your people to shine brightly as lights, reflecting Your glory. May they be protected and may their message of You go forth and not return to You void. In Jesus name, Amen.

Be not thou of an hasty spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. - Ecclesiastes 7:11

Anger is cruel, and wrath is raging: but who can stand before envy? - Proverbs 27:4

One might say that the issue is envy. There is a demand to make the world the way the angry person demands it...more masks, less masks, why won't this government fix this? People are envious of the situation they feel others have and they don't. Perhaps this explains my point better?

From whence are wars and contentions among you? are they not hence, even of your pleasures, that fight in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye envy, and desire immoderately, and cannot obtain: ye fight, and war, and get nothing, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye might lay the same on your pleasures. - James 4:1-3

For such an "impressive" ivy-league school, these students aren't displaying a whole lot of wisdom.

Jim, I am absolutely sure that gravity on Earth, sans friction, provides an acceleration of approx 9.81 m/second squared. I am absolutely sure that the area of a circle is pi times the radius squared. I was convinced of those observable, repeatable facts before I came to Christ. What I came to learn is that the Lord works so regularly in His sustainment of His creation that we have concepts erroneously called "natural laws."

Frank was dead on, Jim. Crowd- or mob-sourced truth can change like the wind. Only the truth from God never changes. Someday, those so called natural laws may not be the same here on Earth. But the Lord will be the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow...from everlasting to everlasting. And His truth will never fade away.

Why are Mike's concerns only to be limited to NYC? Why not museums in Lincoln, NE?
