I'm from the tribe of Levi... but I can't prove it, and neither can anyone else, because the temple records went with the temple.

All kidding aside, I recently learned that Matthew the disciple had access to the temple records because he was a tax collector, hence his genealogy in Matthew.

When thinking about retirement, we understand that our purpose is not on receiving our selfish enjoyment of an easy life after years of hard work. That is left for our heavenly kingdom.

The bible does say of saving up money, as Joseph did during a famine in Egypt.

"There is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man squanders it.
Proverbs 21:20 NKJV

But scripture also says,

‘You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry’” (Luke 12:19).

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’” (verse 20).

Jesus ends with this application:

“This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God” (verse 21)

also who says you need all that money? If I had 100k it would be used for God's will and not rotting in some bank.

History tells us a many of such savings got stolen either in war, in currency devaluation.

And the worldly definition of "retirement" is not the same as the Believers idea of retirement.

But what's their definition of Christianity?

I was reading some articles recently from 2000, and saw a sensational claim: "as many as 30,000 converts are made EVERYDAY in china"

Someone said California has the highest gas prices in the US because the state has higher clean air standards so the fuel must be formulated differently.

We christians know better than to give these fools their 15 minutes of fame, when our brethren in russia are welcoming a cold winter, a famine happening in North Korea, political crisis in Britain, Horror in Lebanon with Syrian refugees used for black market organ trafficking, Christian Crackdown in the middle east, and many more ministries who will never get any headlines.

It would be more helpful if you can explain Galatians 3:
"receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith"

What's this hearing of faith, I don't see baptism here...😊👍

And so they repented, called on the name of the Lord, received His word, got saved, and got Baptised. You cannot know from this verse when they received the Holy Spirit, was it after repentance, or after their baptism?

Again, why did Paul call the Galatians foolish in Galatians chapter 3? How did the galatians receive the Holy Spirit? Was it by Baptism?

Let the Bible speak to you today:

"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham."
Galatians 3:1‭-‬3‭, ‬5‭-‬6‭, ‬9 NKJV

But what does 1 Peter 3:21 continue to say

I encourage you to search out what the scriptures say, especially such questions:

Is there a difference between Spiritual Baptism and Physical Baptism?

Is there a connection with old testament circumcision and new testament baptism?

How does the new testament say believers get the Holy Spirit?

Why Does Paul call "Galatians" foolish in chapter 3?

And the good old classic, the Thief on the cross!

I answered those questions before and came to The conclusion that water baptism has no supernatural powers.

God bless!

We also gotta remember you don't respect overnight, it takes time for someone to follow a leader.

Godly Christian men are precious in a wussy, perverted society. If she sticks around long enough for God to complete what He started in Kanye, she indeed will be blessed.

To the poster below:

Many of the original KJV translators and overseer followed closely the Church of England, which would never AUTHORIZE immersion, but rather sprinkling, but you can correct me on that.

To claim that the KJV endorses immersion and not sprinkling is a modern idea.

If the churches were running correctly I'm sure that's possible to afford an education.

The Berean Baptist Church with Sean Harris who do the news in focus on this site have their own school. It be nice to ask them how affordable it is for their congregation.

Public schools have changed so much since 2000. No more failing and repeating a grade, so drop outs are graduating. No more detention, computers and laptops to all, providing a distraction in the class, no negative disciplining students, instead using positive reinforcement to baby them into highly sophisticated snowflakes. Oh teach them perverse thrash on top if it all.

I have seen a few, and even one that landed on sermon audios news page a few weeks back.

The give away is usually the headline and the article itself hardly make any sense. Headline makes a bold statement to get some clicks, but the article itself does not provide any clear meaning, much less evidence to prove the headline.

It seems they often have very wordy articles, with big words, that tire out the reader, making them instead remember the headline and not the article. It's brainwashing at it's finest.

thanks for the info "needhim"

I'm always amazed how their choir can sing many of the traditional hymns of the protestant faith, yet believe in many of their doctrines.

Utah is full of Mormons, you can drive around see hundreds of steeples on top of their churches or whatever theyrefer to call them. Overwhelmingly more than any other faith.

As for Catholics having a huge number, since it's so liberal, they welcome anyone to be counted as a catholic, but majority of churches have barely any people, baring Easter and Christmas. So in statistics towards a large number of Catholics I'm skeptical. What I'm not skeptical is the large number of devout Muslims.

Both Catholics and Mormons are in the process of dying, with most considering the pope to be pagan, and the Mormon prophets to be liberal.
