Dr. Tim, I so appreciate your comments and encouragement. No the voice is not audible and like a preacher I heard say, once during a sermon, God had spoke to him about something and he stopped and looked at his church members and said,â donât look at me like that, it wasnât an audible voice, it was louder than that.â đ Fred Lowery was his name and he was pastor of First Baptist in Bossier, La. He has preached at the church I attend now, a few times. He was a good man of God and had a sense of humor like you and I .I watched him on tv at times and his messages hit home more than once. God speaks to my heart and guides me and I He lets me know when I do or say something not right for a child of God to do or say.
Btw, that was 5 years ago when we had the Bible Studies and if she is now different Iâm sure we wonât have anymore. My best friendâs husband is in an all menâs class and she is in my womenâs class. She related an incident in which a new teacher took their class over when their teacher resigned. He began to teach some lessons that was not truth as they saw it. They disagreed with it as being close to heretical to them. He kept on each Sunday getting worse, so finally the whole class one Sunday got up and walked out and refused to go back in. They were given another teacher. There are Tares planted by Satan in every church, every link , even on here. So I donât listen to every voice I hear or read. I am His sheep and Jesus said,âMy sheep hear my voice.â A sheep knows the shepherdâs voice from all others and because of their trust in him they follow and trust his guidance as he takes them to lie down in green pastures and drink from still waters because they are easily frightened when waters are rushing. So the shepherd loves them and finds the right spot for them to rest and eat and drink. Protects them from their enemies even those in wolves clothing.
Christopher you see what you want to see about me and the group you email and run with are all you want to see even when they start hurling mean vindictive words at you. Go back and carefully read my post to Ups. I said that I mentioned how God speaks to me and guides me. LADY BUG commented in ridicule, that I or people who hear voices are mentally ill and more of her co-horts agreed. We are all going to give account of how we treat others. I have taken Bible Studies with both ladies and was helped a great deal. Tony Evans is a great man of God and until I personally am convinced, no one will convince me otherwise not you or your e-mail friends. So was Billy Graham and Franklin Graham today. Remember what you implied years ago trying to please your friends, that you were once hard headed like me but these friends changed you. I am not trying to change anybody and I donât stand in judgment of you all, because Godâs word clearly tells me not to. Please read the comments made on here very carefully before attacking someone, who wasnât talking to you anyway.
Ups, I use scripture when I make a point on here or my own experiences that I have gone through and God has taught me personally. You can take or leave what I say, thatâs your freedom to do. No one guides me on here especially through links. There are wolves everywhere in sheepâs clothing trying to destroy Jesusâs sheep. We are in a spiritual warfare and yes , I have a God given spirit that helps me. Links have taken Billy Graham and Franklin to the cleaners with their judging . I have been torn apart by LB and others on here because I donât believe like they do. Even called mentally ill.by LB because I hear in my heart as God speaks to and you agree with her and others that give out links on here. The ones I donât trust are those that judge and condemn others without anything but their instincts because they donât know me or my lifestyle.
Well Tim, you are so right and JohnUk, thanks for reminding me that Jesus does love đ me even when I donât deserve it. You are right when we are not doing the right things, we certainly are under His discipline and I know it for sure. I try to stay close and be blessed. We do learn from those times of His displeasure. No, havenât had a Bible Study for just women, for a few years. Its more learning to make wreaths, cooking , making quilts for cancer patients on chemo. Thatâs good and all but looking forward to another Bible Study. I donât go by what other people say about someone, I go by my own instincts and Godâs guidance. I have been so judged by people that donât even know me or how I live my life , so I pay no attention to links or those that use them. Ok, thanks for your mentoring, my husband is not a Christian and never discusses things pertaining to the Bible or gospel, I have these I trust on here and a close friend to help me as well.
A thing to think about is God wants us to serve Him where he puts us. I am serving in a Baptist Church a few blocks from where I live and I do what I can do as God leads. We donât have women Bible Study now as much as other events, scrape bookings and wreath making etc It was years ago that Beth Moore was teaching by video. I went for fellowship mainly .There is a reason we have churches to worship and serve in and you canât do that on line. Itâs fine if you are home bound and unable to attend physically. Shops in our malls are closing because of on line shopping. I do like sermons on here especially the older preachers, like Tozer and Spurgeon and I dislike arguing so I say whatever to whoever needs to hear and move on. I try to use scripture rather than links written by men that take comments and add their interpretation to the mix and whatever to prove their point on here. Fine line we have to walk on here.
I am so fed up with certain ones on being my Judge to the point I was getting off sermon audio but thought of those on here that have blessed and helped me through some hard times and I have grown spiritually. John Uk, I love what you said to Dr Tim and was a blessing for me as well. At least Satan didnât win this battle, I plan to stay on and let God continue to grow me, until He calls me home. Dr. Tim keep on making me laugh, God knows what I am going through and that my heart needs it. Like your comments on reaching the lost and your encouragement. You are a blessing to me as well as others.I donât believe women should teach men, so if I get in teaching mode let me know and like a friend on here once told me, keep your feet in the boat while feeding the sharks â
The women in our church have Bible Studies for Women only, no men come to the Women âs Bible Study and Beth Moore And Patricia Shrivar(Tony Evans daughter) has held a few. Different ones do the video and we have work books to study with. Watch video and leaders discuss lessons. We also on Thursday morning have the menâs study called Man Up and the only women there are the ones that serve lunch to the men. Tuesday, there is a Bible Study taught by Associate Pastor for all senior adults. Lunch afterwards. Keeps everybody pretty busy. Donât think men would be interested in our Bible Study and I wouldnât want to go in the Menâs either.Sometimes I donât think I need to be on this forum and now is one of those times I feel awkward on here. After thinking about, it, That is.
Just a guy, when Paul and Silas were put in jail, they were singing hymns and praying at Midnight and it mentioned that the other prisoners were listening to them and pretty amazed that they werenât complaining and arguing with each other about whose fault it was they wound up in jail in the first place. No they were singing and trusting God with their lives and making the best out of a bad situation. An earthquake shook the jail so hard that chains fell off and the prison doors opened and thatâs when the jailer thought the prisoners had fled and pulled a sword out to kill himself ! Thatâs when Paul cried out with a loud voice to not harm himself because all the prisoners were still there. Amazing Grace.
Acts 16;28 But Paul cried with a loud voice âDo not harm yourself, for we are all here âvs29 And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas.vs30 Then he brought them out and said âSirs, what must I do to be saved?â vs31 And they said,â Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.âvs 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. vs 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Iâm assuming you know this story, if not I suggest you read the whole chapter and be blessed at how God could save and change this jailerâs life.
Agree, John and so unbelievable that it is happening in our schools of all places. Every day it seems on the headlines that some small child has been abused physically (even killed by parents) or sexually by adults. Even to the point of one woman being accused of sex trafficking. Had her ugly picture plus the four sick men involved on front page of our newspaper. Now, they are being bombarded with this at a very young age. Basically as a child I was told not to talk to strangers and it put enough fear in me to see danger in that. Told my kids the same thing. If someone needs directions to some place they could ask an adult!! Usually itâs a step parent that does the molesting while the parent allows it, but not always.
Right now he has support from the evangelical group and he realizes how much he needs that support. He really loves America and it is a disturbing thought for a power hungry Democratic whoever gets President. Christians need to pray that the right person for our nation be put in office.
So true JohnUk, unbelievable how the world is turning now and youâre so right that no matter what his beliefs, if he is a blood bought child of God, he can rejoice in his trials and tribulations because God will take care of him. We rejoice because we are counted worthy to suffer for His name and His cause.
