BYSNE- I have already addressed that. Go back through all my previous posts. Now, let's quit dancing around this question...
How does a lost sinner gain entrance into heaven?

BYSNE- you have no clue how damning sin is, if left unrepentant of. You say, 'sin ALONE isn't enough to condemn anyone according to Christianity', what a deadly and ignorant statement that truly is! "The soul who sins is the one who will die" Ezekiel 18:4
Once more I ask a very simple question, what does it take to for a lost sinner to gain entrance into heaven?

BYSNE- again, I ask, HOW DOES A LOST SINNER GET TO HEAVEN?
Are you avoiding this question for a reason?
If you want to debate, and USE SCRIPTURE, then it is a worthwhile debate. If you just want to throw out 'big words' and your opinion, then you are on the wrong site.

I correct my last post, I meant 1 John 1:9
Could you verify my 'supposed' attacks on others based on church affiliation? {OTHER than the apostate RCC}
You are really stretching it by trying to say what YOU think I would say! You have carried out this make believe conversation between you and me, it is kind of comical!
Religion will send more people to hell than atheism. I am not asking your 'affiliation'; what does it take for a lost sinner to get to heaven?

I am NOT ignoring 1 John 1:8, I included that in a previous post. That does NOT mean you have a free license to go out and live a life characterized by sin. Again, the doctrines of REGENERATION {A new creation, the new birth, a new heart} and SANCTIFICATION{The Sacred Scriptures act as a surgeon's knife, cutting away sin as the born again believer studies and meditates on God's word} reflect a life where one is NOT sinless, but does sin less and less. The biggest fear of a true servant of Christ is that we would willfully sin against our Holy God. Monks are NOT born again GG, they follow a ritualistic, sacramental 'religion'; the bible is quite clear, salvation is a "gift", given by God, according to His "grace". It is not a group or denominational thing, it is one on one, as God calls a lost sinner to Christ, humbles that sinner, then that broken sinner cries out, "O God, have mercy on me, a sinner". The heart must be CHANGED- that is what being 'born again' truly means.
BYSNE- you consistently post only concerning RCC news stories. If you aren't an RCC, then tell everyone here. Why the secrecy? You are playing games purposely, which says much about you.

To those who cling to Roman Catholicism:{GG, Lance, BYSNE} You gentleman have NEGLECTED the scriptures given and have opted to twist my posts, all because it does not fit your 'sacred tradition'. Christ teaches {note that please!} "you can tell them by their fruit". If you understood the doctrines of sanctification and regeneration, that teaching would make sense. Read 1 John chapter 3, the scriptures are clear that those who truly belong to Christ do NOT continue a life controlled by sin. Again gentlemen, these are the teachings of the Sacred Scriptures!
"For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. BUT when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, HE saved us, NOT on the basis of DEEDS which we have done in righteousness, but according to HIS MERCY, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom HE poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by HIS GRACE we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life: Titus 3:3-7

BYSNE- you seem to miss the point that monks aren't born again disciples of Christ. Nathan made a valid point, Christendom is a pagan as any other religion. I think that pretty well clears up this news story. Slapping a title on something, or someone, doesn't necessarily make it so.
How someone behaves is indeed sufficient to tell whether they are followers of Jesus Christ or not. Again, study Matt. 15:19; actions reveal what's in the heart. Yes, true believers sin; would they brawl? Not if they were in Christ. Would they say something suspect? Probably. But, then they would confess, repent and ask forgiveness. Did the monks ask for forgiveness? BTW, BYSNE, are YOU born again?

So Lance are Muslims Christians? Are Buddhists? How about Mormons? Radical Islamists? Everybody is a Christian!?!
"But SMALL is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and ONLY A FEW find it" Matt. 7:14 According to Jesus Christ, not many will actually make it Lance. Just because one follows a routine, a ritual, has 'separated' themselves apart for service to a god does NOT mean that person is a blood-bought, regenerated, sanctified new creation in Christ. There are many gods Lance, but only the One True God saves whom He desires, by His mercy and grace, not according to man's 'teachings'.

BYSNE- you say the brawl isn't sufficient to condemn them as non-Christians, although it may be a 'symptom' of a heart that hasn't been changed by God. {I prefer to use 'sign' instead of 'symptom'} If the heart remains unchanged by God, the individual is still lost in sin, that's what the 'new birth' is all about. Read Matt. 15:19, Christ teaches what comes out of every heart. Again, the Greek Orthodox Monk is still lost in sin, he follows 'tradition', 'ritual', 'salvation by works'...this is NOT what scripture teaches about salvation. All who have been born again have assurance of eternal life. Ephesians 2:8,9 teaches how salvation works. One must grasp the concept of 'GIFT', and 'GRACE', as well as 'NOT OF WORKS'.

John Y.- "And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus said, 'No more of this!" Luke 22:51,51
What is the weapon of the born again believer? "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD" Ephesians 6:11,17. There isn't room to post all of Ephesians 6:11-20

If these monks are following traditions, rituals, etc. taught by men, they are not born again. Only God can save a lost sinner, Ephesians 2:8,9- For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God. {it's God's gift, He gives it to whom He chooses, based on His mercy} NOT of works, lest any man should boast".
The Greek Orthodox Church does not follow scripture alone, salvation is based on works,{performing the 7 sacraments in one's lifetime, these are the 'channels' to receive God's grace} with no eternal security. Again, NO ONE can earn their way to heaven, or work to receive grace. The Father gives His gift to whom it pleases Him to do so.
Brawling would seem to indicate one's heart has NOT been changed by God.

Let's start by asking, 'what is a born again believer?' One who has repented of their sins {Mat. 4;17, Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30}, been given a new heart and sealed with God's Holy Spirit {John 3:3, Eze. 11:19, John 14:23}and bears evidence of salvation in thought, word, and deed. Is such a person sinless, or perfect? No, which is where 1 John 1:9 comes into play.
"Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness, sin is lawlessness. No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning, no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's Seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God" 1 John 3:4,6,8,9
Is one who practices violence 'born again'? The bible speaks against it.

There comes a point when the conscience is seared, the mind is given over to depravity...this is what makes the sodomite such a danger to the follower of Jesus Christ. This is more than likely just the beginning of what's to come.

I quote scripture, and you want to 'analyze' God's word? I think you just like to 'pick arguments'. Then you try and 'belittle' me because I won't get on your merry go round. Perhaps your time would be better spent on your knees in prayer, asking God to search your heart for any offensive way; then open His word and seek His wisdom. As a sinner saved solely by His grace, I too will do just that.

Perhaps you need to educated yourself on the difference between an argument and fact sir. The bible is clear on divisive people and avoiding foolish arguments, with that said, I say to you, good day.

Who do you think you are, 'I presented your position'?!? I don't need you to present anything for me! In any case, I refuse to get into a worthless debate with you.
Take my post anyway you like, my time is better spent proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ {according to His word} to lost sinners on their way to hell; do you fit the category of a lost sinner?

Twisting other people's words is exactly what leads to all kinds of problems. It is also what breeds false beliefs [i.e.- the twisting of God's word]. I stand by my post, however, you may read into it whatever your mind and heart desires.
