"Your questioning the lineage of the Jews as being not from Jacob is mind boggling and not even worthy of a comment."To which I quickly said, "Ha!" and decided to look up where Lurker made such a statement so that I can nominate him to the "Most Ridiculous Statement of the Week" award. I came up with this: Lurker said: "You hold up one promise to the negation of another. The futurist view has no answer for the perishing in unbelief of hundreds of millions of Jews that you would have us believe are the seed of Jacob." Ha! What seed are they of, the chinese! lol Lurker Congratulations! You have been nominated for this week's "Most Ridiculous Statement" award. If you should win you will receive a pick of one of my beautiful baby girls. And that's not all, if you should win, you will receive a FREE one way ticket to the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist where your most ridiculous fancies can come true. |

KK I hope you had a good day to.Unfortunately, you did not answer the objection made, viz., that not only have you fabricated the definition of "work" that does not exist anywhere in the world except within your theological system but also, the context gives no evidence of accepting something other tha the normal definition of work. You simply ignored the objection and skipped to a pet verse. That's ok, but I doubt you really want to go to James for the following reasons: 1. You will find nothing in James that states that one has to do good works if he is going to be saved. 2. You will find nothing in James that states that one will lose his salvation if he does not do good works. 3. In fact, now that I think about it, you will find nothing in James that speaks of how to be saved. 4. To top it all off, if we apply your fabricated definition of "work" (ritualisic excercises) then it will create nothing but theological havoc. Consider your quote of James 1:25 with your fabricated definition. You have then forced the Scriptures to teach that one needs ritualism before he is to be blessed. Which I assume to you this means salvation! So if you apply your definition of "work" to James 1:25 as you did to Ephesians 2:9 then you have just contradicted yourself |

"All of Jesus' words pertain to salvation of humanity. You can rationalize them away with your theology, but that does not change the truth. Jesus came to preach the gospel to the poor, to bind up that which was broken, and to set the captives free. He did this with His words of truth and life. You cannot receive Him without receiving His Words."And let me guess, you actually were obedient to this command. "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." Well, at least your problem is open for everyone to see. You have yet to learn to use the law lawfully and to rightly divide the Word of truth. According to you, everything goes, so long as it agrees with your Pentacostalism. Division? There is no division in the Bible according to your hermeneutic. And context, well I guess you can throw that out the window if as well. If God is not speaking of salvation, there is no need to force him to do so. I prescribe you to allow God to mean what he states and state what he means. |

"After we make our confession of faith, do we live our lives as we have always lived, doing the same things that we have always done, acting the same way we have always acted, associating with the same friends, and enjoying the things of the world as we have always done, with our primary interest in material things, living in pride and enjoying the treasures and pleasures of the world?"Sanctification is a life process. It is not for you to judge who is saved or who is not saved. God only requires an appropriation of saving grace for salvation, not a lifetime of holiness subjected to a critics standard. For some the change occurs quick. Others it takes more time. For some unfortunately are saved in a denomination or church that is unforunately worldy; so they do not know any better. You, unfortunately, are posing as a pharisee judging everyone's salvation when it is not giving to you to know. The Bible speaks of babes in Christ that need to be nurtured and perfected in the faith. The whole book of Corinthians was written to carnal christians. Unfortunately, according to your standard, they would not be saved. The danger lies in that you create a standard for people that you in your heart cannot keep. |

So much for Ephesians 2:8-9 and a host of other verses. You are just another religionist who thinks his piety is sufficient to get him to heaven. The only difference between you and the others is that your standard is different than the other 100 available for religionists to choose from. I prescribe you a good dose of the real Gospel. Try this for starters: "For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God."--- Romans 4:2 "Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works"-- Romans 4:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."--- Romans 11:6 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."--- Galatians 2:16 "Not of works, lest any man should boast." -- Ephesians 2:9 "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace..."--- 2 Timothy 1:9 |
