Jim wrote: I see the ESV should have had Geneis 17:1-2 changed, like the KJV it uses "may" instead of "will" for what God is going to do. Well I'll be... Jim you're right. Here's the ESC version Genesis 17 When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty;[a] walk before me, and be blameless, 2 that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.” Wait a minute Jim!! Don't get to excited now. Youre only partially right. Here's the KJV Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. |
