It's fascinating to note how these servants of Satan attack the Bible.
For centuries we have had homosexual practice, adultery and living in sin. Therefore there is no real reason to get hitched.
But
What this is really all about is Satan and his minions attacking all authority. And as you know all authority is from God in decent society.

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Thankfully some calling themselves Calvinists or leaning towards Calvinism don't believe and act according to the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Then they are clearly not good Christian Calvinist Believers and followers of Jesus Christ.

The Reformed (Calvinist/Puritan) Church wrote the WCF in accordance with the Bible and it's teachings.

All of the WCF chapter and verses, relate back to specific Bible verses and thus explain the Bible Doctrines.
Just as the Larger and Shorter Catechisms do and were used to teach and build strong true Church congregations over these last few centuries.

BTW if you would like to apply them to enhance your understanding of Scripture then they can be found at....

Greetings Mike;
How's NY these days.

I prefer to give ALL the glory to God.
Hence

As you know also, the whosoever(GOD)wills are the elect and the whosoever(GOD)won'ts are the nonelect.

That leaves God in His Sovereign Grace.

I don't know who pushed the button on you JD, but as to your quote above! Of course we believe that our doctrines are "guided by the Spirit." As to the polemics between our differing exegesis that must be what it's all about.

2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies,

1Cor 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

Not to mention the "convictions" of those Jesus rejects at Matt 7:21-23 and Rev 2+3.

God be with you JD.

"Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Baha'i, Sikh, First Nations (indigenous) and non-denominational prayers will alternate, along with a moment of silent reflection."

This is an insult to God and His Son.
The result will be that God will remove authority from politicians, government and legislation. God does not bless those who reject Him.

23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off. Psalm 94.

What does this passage, Ep 2, have to do with election? About as much as Ge 1:1. But of course, if you spotted a dead shunk in the middle of the road, it would have something to do with election. You've got it on the brain, son,....or more likely, madam!
JD
The passage is Eph*3* not *2*.
What Paul is talking about is the calling and the election of the Gentiles which is a "mystery" to the Prophets (and Jews), BUT not to Paul who is given the ministry to the Gentiles. [[5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;]]

Thus the grace given to Paul was to preach salvation to the Gentiles, as revealed to him by the Spirit.

Salvation, as you know, is the result of God calling and electing those whom HE has predestinated unto election and salvation. (Eph 1:4/5)

V6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs,=((to receive adoption unto salvation of the predestinated Elect))= and of the SAME BODY, and partakers of his promise in Christ BY THE GOSPEL:
# Which had been a mystery until the Holy Spirit revealed it to the Apostles.

____________

"madam" ???
JD, we have been debating here for at least three years, - So you can call me Sir.

Why not attempt to deal with the text?
JD;
For your edification.

Eph 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Another way of writing the intro to verse two is "If ye have heard of the *stewardship* of the grace of God....."

*dispensation" here is the Greek word "οικονομιαν" = (from which we get the word economy) = which means administration of a household or estate.

Paul's administration here is of the grace of God, which was given to him for the Gentiles such as those at Ephesus. Paul goes on to explain how this "mystery" was made known to him by "revelation"

Paul goes on to describe the "Gentiles should be **fellowheirs**" - And not separated as your hyothesis implies.
Indeed he goes on to declare....
V9 "And to make *ALL* men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ"

Just shows how inclusive election is from the beginning of the world, whether Israel or Gentile/past or present.

Have fun JD!!

But Mike;
We good Calvinists are trying to Reform *everybody* - not just the poor Papists.

Isn't that what the Lord sent US to do? To teach the Biblical Truth and Doctrines, as the Holy Spirit has guided us into them.

You would be in good company if you were a dispensationalist. The great Paul certainly was. He wrote: Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you–ward:

Oh JD;
You really are a great comedian sometimes.

If anyone actually believed that Paul was alluding to what modern Dispensationalist conjecture has come up with, then they clearly can't read the Truth in Scripture.

JD, You musn't forget that Margaret MacDonald and Scofield were not born until the 19th century. But thanks for the laugh.

"Since he gave the main speech of the service at the Apostolic Church of God, there was no sermon on Sunday."

The lesson according to Obama???

I don't suppose these Liberals would "hear" a real sermon anyway. Unless it is "social gospel" they don't want to know.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

It is not before time that the "traditionalists" left the errant, Bible rejecting religion of Liberalism and split to go their own way.

2John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

JD wrote:
Salvation is the result of believing the gospel, not the cause of it. The Scriptures always says that clearly. This is an example. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. The religious insinuate something like this: Be regenerated by the Holy Spirit and be given life and thou shalt believe.
What JD
Is really trying to establish here is, "Salvation is the result of "man's action" to the Gospel not the cause of it."

Thus he is still trying to put man before God and still does not deal with sin.

Thus again proving the old Pelagian, Semi-Pelagian, RCC and Arminian hypotheses remain extant even today.

Yes we can come to the same conclusions in Britain too.

In fact the country that is expanding it's influence most in the western nations is, - Sodom and Gomorrah.

Gen 18:32 And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

Because
Baptism is the sign and seal of the Covenant.

And God said we can do that at 8 days old.

Now that is a recorded statement of God in Scripture. But notice that there is no teaching that baptism is to be authenticated by a public statement of any kind.

Genesis 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

"She condemned the violence, then described homosexuality as "disgusting, nauseous, shamefully wicked and vile," and said, "It's an abomination.""

The lady of course, is absolutely correct. But todays evil society is clearly attacking and trying to muffle the Law and the Word of God.
Which is a bit like trying to stop the wrath to come.

10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. (Jude)

This topic is eschatology, not Calvinism/Arminianism. You need to get your minds out of that stinking rut and get it back on track!
The entire Bible is about whether God is sovereign - as opposed to whether iniquity in man is in complete control of his eternal destiny.

The "free will" Sinner in control equates to Pharisees, papists, cults, heretics, arminians, synergists who believe that man is in control of his eternal destiny.

As Jesus said it's not what you know its whether Christ knows you.
23 And then will I profess unto them, *I NEVER KNEW YOU* depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt.7

I am really concerned that no one answered my questions. You must have missed it so here they are again.

1) Do you calvinists believe that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and, though men wrote it, it expresses the very thoughts of God himself?
2) If your answer is yes (And I am not betting the farm that it is) do you believe that the following words are an expression of God's desire for Israel and not just the thoughts of the apostle Paul?
JD
God wrote the Bible and all that man did was record it and for that he needed the help of God, called inspiration.

But the problem is JD, That Papists, JW's, cults, arminians, Dispensationalists, free willers etc etc... will respond in the affirmative also.

Then their fruit is perceived as being so obviously UNBiblical!!!

Much zeal without knowledge.

JD
It is extraordinary that the arminian types seem to affirm that man required divine inspiration to write the Bible; - Yet dismiss the fact that they also first require grace and the Holy Spirit to receive the Truth?
Weird huh?

It is interesting that these two verses are side by side in Leviticus.

21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.(Lev.18)

Thus they sacrificed their children to the idol Molech.
Today in abortion they sacrifice their children to the god of Mammon.

22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Followed by the verse on the abomination of the homosexual perversion.

It's a very sick world today.
Especially in politics and bureaucracy.

The wrath of God is revealed NOW!!

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
