Obedience causes insight Among the points made in this message, Dr. Walicord explains that if there is no obedient heart, then there is no insight. But if there is an obedient heart, there will be insight. And where there is insight, it leads to more obedience which in turn leads to more insight. And you have a wonderful circle upwards. This is a well-kept secret, that obedience causes insight, and this insight causes more obedience. You will not receive understanding, you will not receive wisdom, if you are not willing to submit your whole life under this insight, under this wisdom. As we obey, and receive more insight, and obey more, it's not only that we get smarter, but we also receive the Spirit. If you obey, you gain more insight. |

Their deeds follow them Among the points made in this message, Dr. Morecraft explains a difficult section of Revelation 14:13. That verse states that "the dead who die in the Lord" are blessed, and adds, "for their deeds follow them." When you go to the new heavens and the new earth, you get to rest. But that verse says your "deeds," that is, the things you did for the Lord in this life, are going to contribute to the new heavens and the new earth. So that millions of years from now in the new heavens and the new earth, your works will still follow you, and you'll still be rejoicing in the effects of those things God enabled you to do and called you to do in this life. |

Powerful truth This is a message that every Christian needs to hear. Rev. Stewart provides a powerful explanation of the doctrine of covenanting and a concise history of two vitally important documents that are still relevant today: the National Covenant of Scotland (1638) and the Solemn League and Covenant (1643). At the time of his martyrdom in 1661, Rev. James Guthrie gave his public testimony for these covenants, including his statement the he was "witnessing unto the National Covenant in Scotland, Solemn League between the three Kingdoms; the Sacred Solemn and Publick Oath of God I cannot believe can be loosed by or dispensed with by any Person or Power, or any one on earth, but are still binding on these Nations, and will be forever hereafter." Afterwards he shouted, "The covenants, the covenants, shall yet be Scotland’s reviving!" |

Understanding life correctly As Dr. Morecraft explains, understanding life correctly, that is, in terms of God's written Word, is essential to living life correctly, under God's favor and direction. After all, Proverbs 23:7 says, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. That is, you live like you live because you think like you think. To look at life from any other perspective than that of the Word of God, is to be stupid. |

A tree of life As Dr. Morecraft explains, the righteous man's righteous life is a tree of life to other people. It's not the source of other people's lives, but it is a means, it is an instrument, by which God encourages and enhances, improves and builds up the lives of other people who come in contact with this man. That's how powerful this man or woman can be in the culture in which he lives. If he's trusting in the Lord God Almighty, in Christ, for his life and salvation, and manifesting that trust by living a righteous, godly life of practical obedience day in and day out, he is going to enhance and improve the lives of other people around him. By living a righteous life you will be a tree of life to other people; to encourage, to improve, to enhance the lives of people around you. |

Watering or withering Dr. Morecraft explains that there is one who distributes generously what he has, and instead of diminishing himself, increases all the more, in life, wealth and happiness. And there is one who withholds and hoards what he has, but who in the process loses everything. That is, someone who scatters his life to benefit and enhance the lives of other people, someone who throws his wealth, his energy, his time, his gifts, his talents, far and wide, generously with little concern for himself, putting the concerns of others above his own concerns, will increase all the more. But somebody who is so worried about the future, so worried about himself, and who clings to everything he possesses (his wealth, talents, and influence), despite there being people in need around him, will be the one who depletes his own resources. So we are always watering or withering. |
