Hey John Y
I would never question your salvation. I would question the Catholic Church thing, however, and would recommend maybe more times of fellowship with the baptist church..maybe if they have a Wednesday night service or small groups, but something to get you more involved. That could involve talking with the pastor and seeing what he says about serving there? These are just thoughts, of course and I'm not a counselor.

Steve R, I was being sarcastic. But thanks for the rebuke, many of you seem very eager to give those on these comments sections..

That's because many folks,on here want to be a pastor or sharpen their debating skills..it does, keep you sharp though!!

Kev wrote,
What about those who claim regeneration yet still hate the God of the Bible..

Well I think that anybody can claim anything..ultimately only God knows the condition of a mans heart. The only way an individual can TRULY love God is if he or she is regenerated. It's a simple test that John talks about in 1st John. I don't have my bible with me but, it's something like we know that we love God if we love the brethren..I could have truly butchered that verse of course.

We were all haters of God before he regenerated us, which I guess is the whole point,of this discussion.

Yawn..come TO me..and go FOR me. Both are commands. Not everyone will come..but everyone who comes needs to go. When we get to heaven Jesus won't tell the arminian crowd they are wrong, even though they are.😀

My personal recommendations as far as appointments go?
Always make them early, that way you have the rest of the day to do other stuff.
Show up on time, or even early, because they may be able to get you in early.

These are words of wisdom from years of making appointments. Hopefully the president elect will do likewise.

So hows about all you Baptists join the Hyper Calvinist club just like your hero?
John UK would definitely love that!!!

How in the world could you EVER come out and say that CH Spurgeon was a hyper Calvinist? He wrote a little book, and one of the best on the subject "the soul winner".
Don't worry about John UK..I know he shares his faith quite regularly.

Cant you understand? A True Christian wouldn't use lies, false oaths and stealing wages to spread the Gospel. Are you so vain, is your faith so shallow, as to think GOD would desire you to lie for him...

First of all, I have defended you many times on here my friend, and have often times given you the benefit of the doubt..
1) I didn't do this, but thought it would be a great way to reach Catholics.
2) your last line makes no sense..lie for God? By preaching his true Gospel?
3) we should use any means we can to reach the lost, as long as it's legal.
4) if you were as zealous for souls as you are for arguing on these news posts you would be dangerous to the enemy..is your faith so shallow that you can't see past your pharisaical pointing finger???

Interesting for you perhaps, not me. Using false pretenses to deliver your gospel might be understandable for the wicked, not for those who cherish the True Gospel..

The point is the true Gospel isn't really taught in the majority of Roman Catholic Churches

When I was just saved I thought it would be great to become a catholic priest. I had plans of becoming a sheep in wolves clothing..I would preach the bible each mass, and see amazing things happen as a result. That was until a friend told me that you must follow a strict order as far as your "preaching" is concerned. It kind of bummed me out for a little while.

John Y, does the baptist church you attend hold Freemason meetings in it?

John Y wrote,

Naturally I do not go to confession on Saturdays and I have not been to confession in 30 years. What would the minister of that Baptist Church I attend on Sunday mornings say about what?

You know why you don't attend confession? It's because you know you are a believer - priest right? You have no need to go to a man according to 1 John 1:9.. That very priesthood of the believer was accomplished by Jesus on the cross. It is one of the benefits of the finished work of Christ. Another thing that was accomplished was the removal of the sacrificial system..my point is this. Since mass means sacrifice, and Jesus is slain anew at every mass, why would you attend that church? I understand the draw of the Catholic Church, the peacefulness of the sanctuary, in comparison to many Protestant churches, where people are blabbing senselessly before church on Sunday. The beauty of the stained glass, etc...I don't think it's about doctrine with you( my opinion). If I were you, and obviously I'm not, why not look for a good conservative Presbyterian church near you? The doctrine would be MUCH better, the sanctuary is also conducive to worshipping the lord. ...my opinions John. Just my opinions

John UK wrote,

It is a mystery also to me, why unregenerate people should be so devoutly religious. Baffling.

I think it's because everyone knows there is a god, and have a desire to get close to him..but ultimately, the god they desire is a god of their own creation. Not the God of the bible. I think it was J Vernon McGee who said they desire the PRESENTS of God, but not the PRESENCE of God.
