Texe Marrs is your source?

You mean the same Texe Marrs who claims that the Holocaust was a hoax?

You'll have to do a whole lot better than that!

Correction:
SOME few Muslims look way more like Christians than do NOMINAL Christians, i.e., the tares.

The Jews cannibalized Stephen?
Really, CAB?

Now ... Have I ever read the Bible?

Evidently NOT the same one you read!
(THANK GOD)

Or maybe ...
Maybe your interpretation of Acts 7:54 gives you the impression that JEWS actually started gnawing on Stephen's flesh. You just don't know the English as used in the KJV!
Unfortunate.

Your obvious hatred for Jews would have served you better had you been born in Germany circa 1920. Then you could have actively taken part in Hitler's "Final Solution."

And YOU profess keeping the second part of God's greatest commandment?

You're reading into scripture--a BIG SIN. Jesus was making the point that he himself, Jesus, was God. The "good" being spoken of here is pure holiness good that we can't conceive of.
CAB, do you not also know that JESUS commanded:

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." [Matt 5:48]

WOW!
How is anybody able to do THAT?
(Yet, it IS commanded by JESUS Himself of us)

[snip] I perfectly well do understand your TULIP heresies
You do not.

Let's take for example the first tenet of "TULIP" (Total Depravity)

CAB wrote:
T- Total depravity. Total lies.
Do you not know what JESUS Himself taught concerning Total Depravity? Hear what HE said in the Scriptures!

"And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? THERE IS NONE GOOD but one, that is, God ..." [Matt 19:17]

You get that?
NONE GOOD

Now also read Paul in Romans 3: 9-18 for an expansion of this principle, i.e., Total Depravity.

All the more reason to see that faith is our job, not God's, and that it's our job to keep the lamp burning. Jesus can kick the door in just as easy, or easier, with a lukewarm believer as with somebody who's cold as ice.
The parable of the sower talks about faith -- the seed in the heart that is planted by the word of God. And it can be lost, as Jesus taught, that seed of faith can be lost, also the plant that springs up from the seed can be lost, withered by persecution or smothered by riches and the cares of this world. That's what Jesus was warning the Laodiceans.
Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word.

That's true, just like Paul told us to hang on to our faith, that IT would not be in vain. 1 Cor.15:1, 2

You've comprehended what I posted just as well as you comprehend the Bible!

I agree with you, other than that faith is our part, and God needs our cooperation to save us. Jesus says he's at the door knocking, and will come in to those who open the door. He doesn't kick it down.
First of all, you misapply Rev 3:20

That verse about Jesus standing at the door knocking is addressed TO THE CHURCH at Laodicea and NOT to unbelievers!

But there you have it, folks ... salvation is NOT (according to CAB) solely a work of God; He can't do it Himself; God needs our cooperation. In other words, WE have the final say!

N.B.
It's a good thing people cooperated with God down through the centuries, otherwise, if, perchance, NO ONE -- not one single person -- had cooperated with God in obtaining salvation by his OWN faith, then Christ's sacrificial death on the cross would have been entirely IN VAIN!

You are torturing the Scriptures!
There's a point in time when God knows believers in a more familiar way?

Square this with Eph 1:4 please ...
" just as HE CHOSE US in Him before the foundation of the world etc."

It's quite clear. God FOREKNEW and CHOSE believers (the elect) BEFORE the foundation of the world!

See if you can now butcher and spin Ephesians 1:4

[snip] In your hypothetical, if I somehow knew with any degree of certainty that the church document contained the signatures of unsaved folks, then I would not sign it or endorse it if it said otherwise. That would be a lie, especially if it led others in the wrong direction or gave them a false sense of security.
Frank, your concerns are well-taken. If I understand you correctly, you are anti-Manhatten Declaration for what it implies, i.e., that the named "Christian" denominations are truly CHRISTIAN. That implication is certainly problematic. Are you moreover against the MD's stated objectives? I should hope not.

Now to my hypothetical:
Let's say YOUR local church made a declaration which stated:
"We Christians here at [your local church's name] uphold the sanctity of life; marriage as biblically understood; and the right to freedom of religion and conscience."

Again, would you sign it?

More than likely, both wheat & tares warm the seats at your local church. These tares -- or even ONE -- within your local church would put the lie to "We Christians" within the declaration. That would make ALL declarations which stated "We Christians" ... problematic.

Neil wrote:
In addition to Frank's good comments, the Manhatten Declarations's basic error is adding social/political reform to those organized church duties expressly commanded in Scripture, which are to worship God & to teach & discipline the faithful, no more. The Apostles never spoke or acted otherwise, despite ancient Rome's egregious moral shortcomings.
A secondary error is its blatant whitewash of church history. This alone is why Protestants, in particular, should have nothing to do with it.
I understand your points, Neil, and they are good ones! I will reconsider my personal position.

However, having stated that, I will NOT condemn others -- faithful brothers IN Christ -- for their signing the Manhatten Declaration.

We remind each other of the great missionaries, they had an effect on law and society.

The hospitals and universities were created by those who had an optimistic view, believing they could learn and grow in Christ in real life.... to call this dominionism is really just waiting for Christians who are active in their fields of work and community to cut them off at the ankles.

Touche, penny! Excellent post indeed!

Anyway, the part that I and others object to is its inclusiveness.
I fully understand your concern.
However, the OBJECTIVES of the Manhatten Declaration was NOT to declare who was or wasn't Christian. It specifically addressed 3 matters of tremendous concern: sanctity of life; marriage; and religious freedom. THAT was its focus and impetus.

Frank wrote:
Now here are some questions for you. Would you tell someone that a movement was Christian, if it wasn't?
I'll answer by asking you a question:

Would you approve of a document/declaration likened to the Manhatten Declaration if all the members of your local church signed it (for whatever cause or movement) which stated in its introduction that all the undersigned CHRISTIANS agreed to its terms KNOWING that there were tares and wheat even in your own local church?

1) Why stop there? What is noun of the pronoun?
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28 NASB)
Those who love Him. Therefore, only the specific group of those who love Him are being spoken about and not unbelievers.
2) Those who love Him are predestined by God to be conformed into the same image as Christ's resurrected body. They are predestined after faith. Before faith, they were predestined for God's wrath to come.
Your interpretation fails because you do not comprehend the meaning of: "foreknew" as found in Romans 8:29

I agree with you Mike. Both signed the Manhatten Declaration which gave credence to every abomination there is.
Have you people ever actually READ the Manhatten Declaration? I doubt it. It addresses 3 issues:

1) the sanctity of human life,
2) the dignity of marriage as a union of husband and wife, and
3) the freedom of conscience and religion

And states further that these 3 "are foundational principles of justice and the common good, [which] we are compelled by our Christian faith to speak and act in their defense"

Terrible stuff ... huh.

Hagee's problem is his Dispensationalism whereby it defines, erroneously, his understanding of "Israel." TRUE Israel, as defined in the Scriptures, is ALL believers both Old and New Testament. Hagee should read Romans 9:6 more carefully. He'd do well to also consider Galatians 4:25,26 and Hebrews 12:22.

Here is a scenario I have been wondering about. Would it be scriptural if one were to pray the rosary but omit the Hail Mary Prayer and just say the Lord's Prayer, the Glory Be Prayer(Prayer to the Holy Trinity) and the prayer that goes "O my Jesus forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, espcially those in most need of thy mercy."(This prayer has nothing to do with Purgatory)?
What does one need a string of beads for in order to pray to the Father? Obviously, you, a Roman Catholic, don't even know how to pray the rosary! (I.e., meditate on the 5 mysteries -- either sorrowful, joyful, or glorious -- when fingering through the 5 sets of 10 Hail Marys)

In the same article it reads:

"Obama said narrowing the gap between rich and poor would be a key part of his legacy."

So that's what pot has done for him? I.e., thinking that his legacy would be the NARROWING of the gap between rich and poor? Is he serious? After all, the gap has greatly WIDENED between the rich and poor under his tenure as POTUS!

I think Obama is STILL smoking weed.
