(Psalms 7:9-17) Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins. (10) My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart. (11) God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. (12) If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. (13) He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors. (14) Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. (15) He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. (16) His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate. (17) I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

@ John UK:
I'm enjoying the Psalms, bro.!

Nice...not only have you put my life in danger by telling the world that I have a stash, but you've exposed me as a liar, and a vegemite addict, when I had always led everyone to believe that consuming it was not only unhealthy, and a sure death sentence, but should be a crime.
I trusted you...

I'm awfully sorry to hear that, Lurky. We all have tragedies in our lives. Some of us get bitter, and others get better. To show that I bear no animosity towards our wayward friend, I'm overnighting three pairs of breeding possums to Jim so he can start rebuilding his financial empire.
Great idea. Let's shower him with love. I'm going to send him a jar full of skeeters. Maybe Christopher will give up a few cases of Vegermite from his stash.

Like a mighty army
moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
all one body we,
One in hope and *doctrine*,
one in charity.

From the article:
"Stanley centered on John 17, in which Jesus prayed that His followers "may be one as we are one..."

Sure, Jesus prayed for unity. But He spent 3-1/2 years teaching them doctrine.

Andy Stanley

The greedy ones are the Democrats (socialists) who want to take what doesn't belong to them. (The Bible calls that stealing.) It reminds me of this quote by Lawrence Garfield:

"I love money. I love money more than I love the things it can buy. Does that surprise you? Money, it don't care whether I'm good or not. It don't care whether I snore or not. It don't care which god I pray to. There are only three things in this world with that kind of unconditional acceptance: dogs, doughnuts and money. Only money is better. You know why? Because it don't make you fat and it don't poop all over the living room floor. There's only one thing I like better - Other people's money."

Who says they haven't earned it? And who says we should steal from them all - just in case they didn't?

Robbing Robert Reissssssssssch. (and Jim)

PS: If you think that trickle down doesn't work, go get a job from a poor person.

If they think we're privileged now, just wait for the world to come.

Isn't this what they've been working their way up to? I mean white privilege, male privilege, straight privilege, or whatever all pale in comparison to the real "enemy" - Christians.

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. (1 John 3:13)

Great. Now it's the preacher's fault.

Obviously, there are many men who "through covetousness... with feigned words make merchandise of" the flock of God. However, I suspect your beef with them has little or nothing to do with their fleecing of the sheep, and everything to do with your perception of them as "big Trump supporters".

That still doesn't change my original statement:
"Letting people keep what they have earned is not redistribution."

What an excellent idea, Jim. Let's levy a YUGE tax on the earnings of slaveholders! I predict it will raise about $0.00 per year (margin of error +/- $0.10).

Good grief. Did you learn that kind of obfuscation from your buddy Robert Riessssssssch?

Turning to law for justification will never work, but multitudes insist on trying it.
Hey, Bro. John,

I tried to have this conversation not long ago with my wife. Ah, that God would open her eyes to the false hope of works righteousness. As my pastor likes to say, "If we could be good enough to work our way to heaven, Jesus wasted His time dying on the cross." No, there is only one way - free and sovereign grace.

Blessings, bro.

Having the right answers doesn't save.

Oh John! None of us want to hear Him say to you on that day, "Depart from me, you worker of iniquity. I never knew you."

Repent and believe the Gospel. Be saved, so that you may say as David Dickson, "I have taken all my good deeds and all my bad deeds, and cast them... in a heap before the Lord, and fled from both, and betaken myself to the Lord Jesus Christ, and in Him I have sweet peace!"

Yeah Jim. I expect you would see conservative speakers as a problem.

The problem on Christian campuses is not too much conservatism, but an avalanche of ungodly liberalism. Is there an institution anywhere that has not been touched by it?

From ]]Our Cultural Waterloo:

"In conversation after conversation over the last few years with friends at Christian liberal arts colleges, I have encountered the assumption that few administrators will choose fidelity to their faith over institutional prestige. And administrators are only half the story. There are also the professors. The dominant philosophy in so many secular humanities departments—that there is nothing so complicated in history or literature that it cannot be reduced to a simple question of power and exploitation—has allowed academia to be hijacked by those who are marked less by their knowledge of their subject than by their ability to spout angry clichés about privilege and power and hegemony. These people represent the spirit of the age, and their language is seeping into Christian discourse. In some colleges, it may not be the administrators who lead the charge for change."
