I beg your pardon?

My goodness, what a statement. I'm trying to figure out if Mr. Roosevelt Johnson is a Black Chicagoan venting or someone trying to ridicule a Black Chicagoan venting. In either case, it's shameful.

The whole thing is simply sad. A marriage gone publically bad, a high-profile couple disgraced and humiliated in the national media. I'm sorry for everyone in the whole situation.

Improving infrastructure is not a sissy, unAmerican socialist program. Prudent saving is certainly in order at this moment. Housing here is in a real pickle, thousands of foreclosures, etc. There appears to be a real possibility of big problems looming. Let's hope it's all so much hogwash, as you say, but prudence dictates caution at the moment. If only to help those who have incautiously bought houses they cannot afford at re-set rates, it will be helpful to have a bit of cash on hand and extra food in the pantry. Brothers and sisters in Christ have been caught up in the cheap-house, no-interest disaster and may need a hand in the days ahead.

Seaton:

Satan appears to be winning...what?

Appears to be the end...of what?

If time advances so that the Lord Jesus's coming is near, this means God is losing? Huh?

Mr. McDougald,

Where can I read about this? What an honorable thing to have done. How truly brave. And right.

It always gives me the heebie-jeebies when someone cites some silly controversy in the USA as a portent of the coming of the Mark of the Beast, when actual tribulation and torture are being dealt to our brothers and sisters overseas.

Even if it were the case, that t-shirt arguments are harbingers of the coming Evil One, should we not welcome it as a sign of the soon Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ?

Here are some of whom the world is not worthy. God bless them for their faithfulness in such a trial.

Hello AVA (or Tony Lopez-Cisneros),

Mr. Lincoln's point is correct, as I have tried to point out to you before.

It's not that what you say is wrong. Informed believers know that the Roman Church is energized by the devil, that its adherents are being deceived into hell, and so forth. We all agree with you on that.

It's your silly bombast that offends.

If you behave in this unrestrained manner in any other aspect of your life, you cannot be successful in that sphere of life, as you are unsuccessful here. That is, no one will be swayed to your opinion because you express it with such lack of civility.

This is such good news. What a relief! Now Dr. Paisley can focus on his role as First Minister and the Free Presbyterian Church can move ahead without this particular burden, which has been heavy.

What an enormous burden has just been lifted, and I wish to commend Dr. Foster and others who met this issue with clear teaching and effectual, fervent prayer.

Scientology is a cult invented by the science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. Courses of study are required for an adherent to progress along the path from pre-clear status to clear status, and these course fees are a major source of revenue for the "church."

Just a variation on the theme of false religion, isn't it, that you can buy your way into sanctification and justification, only with this group there are strange alien aspects with literal space travel many ages ago depositing life here on Earth.

As you know, those verses refer to the church setting, not to a public forum such as we have here posting comments on news items.

You have many good things to say and people will be more willing to hear them if you frame them carefully rather than shouting, as I'm sure you know from work, home, school, church. Perhaps the anonymity of the venue bears on your uninhibited style, and you would not behave this way in public.

To the point of the discussion, I was a FreeP for years and never sensed anything other than very high regard for Dr. Paisley. No one, to my knowledge, revered him as a pope, but more as a beloved grandfather. I am sorry that in this current situation he has not seen wisdom in stepping aside from the moderatorship.

To Mr. Dyne's comment, are you seriously asking what the differences are between Dr. Paisley and the Pope? If so, here are a few:
1. Dr. Paisley does not blasphemously offer up the body and blood of the Precious Lord Jesus in the mass.
2. Dr. Paisley does not claim to speak infallibly ex cathedra.
3. Dr. Paisley does not worship saints, pictures, icons, and so forth
4. Dr. Paisley is welcome to speak at Bob Jones University.

Please, AntiVatican/American, your language is very inflammatory and combative. Would it be possible to frame your comments in a more careful manner? It is possible to make even scathing comments without appearing to be out of one's mind.

If he does not have enough money to go to college, he should save up. He was being paid very well for many years, and should have plenty set aside for a rainy day. If he is very poor for more than a year or so, he can fill out a FAFSA like every other college student and get federal financial aid. No one should send him money for college, of course. That is absurd and it is beyond crass for him to ask.

I take great offense to the statement: "there is much scientific proof in favor of evolution."
I ask, what proof? This is the Pope? Truly, the End IS Near.
There is NO PROOF, or surely we all would have heard of it by now.

No, not surprising, but very sad. May it please God to give some relief to His children in Iraq.
