John, Presbyterians could arguably hold to infant baptism for failure to fully reform, since baptism was tied to census keeping in the Papal world. But, I’m not aware of any group of Presbyterians who believe in any kind of regenerative work in baptism of infants. The papists have some kind of view about baptism being a necessity for salvation, but that’s not a Presbyterian view, at least not to my knowledge. Presbyterians see it as the NT version of removing a baby’s foreskin. Point is, there are plenty of debates and books and articles between Presbyterians and Baptists, a lot of people think a lot about the mode of baptism too, like the CAP writing guy below, but oddly people don’t talk much about the mode of the Lords Supper. Anyways, a rabbit trail, so yes, don’t know about Kim one way or the other, and two, I reject baptismal regeneration since it doesn’t save adults or even infants. I used the word heresy only when directly tied to the gospel rather than error as to the sacraments or church government or people’s view of civil government, etc. |

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength...”Psalm 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. Isaiah 2:22 Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he? Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Jeremiah 17:5-6 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.” |
