'Frank,' I don't think the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, is as well known as what you think.
I would say that most Americans have no idea who she was, and her belief in eugenics and the inferiority of all blacks, Hispanics, Asians, is also not well known.
This is because the media, including all movies out of Hollywood, all TV shows from all TV channels, and all newspapers and TV stations, will not publicize this.
You will not see PBS 'hard hitting' investigative news program, 'Frontline' touch this with a ten-foot pole, just like they will not touch what happened in Libya when former President B. Hussein Obama refused to send air cover support over the US embassy compound, which resulted in the death of a standing US ambassador. Why wasn't he impeached for that negligence that resulted in human deaths?

I have read that the US DEpt of Education is planning on issuing the same statistics for all colleges that were used only for 'for-profit' colleges. These statistics show how many students completed a degree, how many got work, how much they earn, etc.
Once people see that going to the 'State College Univ' does not result in a big paycheck, they may reconsider.
I have also heard that the guy who has a program on Trinity Broadcasting Network (about jobs people do)is promoting the vocational schools that train kids to get 'real' jobs that pay well.
Even a mechanic at a car dealership can make more than the college grads with arts or history degrees.
I know a case of a college grad with an engineering degree from a very expensive private college did get a well-paying job, but then quit because he didn't like the 9 to 5 schedule.

And I thought Pennsylvania's Catholic churches were having this problem. I guess it goes on wherever you have a Catholic church.
Despite all this, they are still the largest church in the USA and the world.

Boy, there sure are a lot of news items about teens posted here recently.
It makes you wonder...haven't we been here before? Even in the 1950s, there were similar stories about teens doing bad things, like joining gangs. And what happened to those teens? I think most of them grew up OK, despite all the worries from newspaper editors.
Have you ever seen a news item about teens doing something good, like 'teens join together to help find lost cat' (well, maybe dog, whoever heard of a lost cat!).

Glad to see we are talking about the key issue of 'best weather around.'
When it was 107, was it 'not bad because it wasn't humid' as they say in Tucson?
And, in the winter, when they do get snow, do they use salt, mixed with magnesium, to melt the snow on the roads? I've heard that mixture does real damage to your car.
And then, if they do get snow, does it melt away completely so there is no ice around at night when the temperature drops below 32 F? I've read that slips and falls are very dangerous for 'seasoned citizens' many of whom die from injuries sustained from falls. In the news was a report on the death of some celebrity, and the cause of death was related to a slip and fall.
Of course, if you were in Hawaii you could be drowned from trying to rescue a dog in a drainage channel, which just happened to a younger guy whose body was just discovered.
ANd then, living in Colorado means driving a car among many other drivers, some of whom could be using 'legal marijuana' and driving under the influence. I suppose your car insurance rates have to go up to take account of that increased hazard.

Chris, I have read that it is not a wise thing to click on any link, because it could lead you to a virus. This applies even if your friend tells you about an item, promises to email it to you, and you get it later that day. Better to use a search engine of your choice to look up the subject matter, and use that as a means to access the story.
I know one poster here, whose first name begins with the tenth letter of the alphabet, is fond of posting such links in his comments.

Gee, I thought this was due to global climate change. Or was it the fact that teenagers don't read books.

Shouldn't the story be titled, "British Teens Wish Social Media Had not been created'?
I wonder if this applies to teens in the USA; I doubt it, though I think there might be some out there, and not meaning the Amish and Mennonites who eschew any use of technology.

Boy, the press really moved off of this story fast. I guess they couldn't find any link of this guy to conservative groups or voting for our nation's beloved President Donald Trump.

I guess we will read stories of refugees from Hawaii's floods moving to some safe place like California (oh no, forgot about wildfires and earthquakes and socialist govt), Oregon (oh no, forgot about socialist govt, antifa brownshirts), Minnesota (oh no, forgot about nasty Somali muslims sponsored by Lutheran World Services, not assimilating, creating their own ghetto), Michigan (oh no, forgot about more Muslims, creating their own separate communities, and the dindu nuffins of Detroit, a dead city),

Boy, what a difference an election makes! The previous administration would have been holding monthly banquets, recognition ceremonies for socialists and sodomites!

I wonder if the result is any different for adults. I've heard that adults read only a handful of books graduating from college or high school.
How about you?
What's the last book you finished reading and when?

I've heard some say that his daughter Cindy should replace him as US Senator. She runs a company in California that helps companies obtain the state liquor license. If you operate a bar, restaurant or store that will serve liquor, her company is the only one you go to; no competition.

Such an interesting story, and I haven't heard about it from the local newspaper or radio news programs. I guess the newspaper would not want to tell people that teens are not reading them---advertisers might see the story and get upset, though I think they already know this, since few ads in the newspaper have any appeal for teens.
This relates to another story that I read that not only are newspaper subscriptions down from previous years, the average age of the reader has gone up. You could almost assume that everyone who reads the newspaper is over 55. When I visit the local public library, I never see young people reading the newspaper or books, unless they have papers spread out nearby to show they are doing homework of some sort.
For some books, it's good to have the paper copy in front of you so you can refer back to maps or lists of characters (thinking of Solzhenitsyn's 'In the First Circle' book).
Another aspect of the story is about TV watching, where they admit to 5 hrs a day. That's close to what another story at SA had shown; 22 hours for younger kids.

Elon Musk, the creator of the Tesla cars, is from South AFrica. Sounds like he got out in time. I wonder how this expropriation effort will affect the price of diamonds, since the DeBeers company has created an artificial shortage of them to keep prices high. They have some mines in South Africa that would be worth more than all the farmlands the govt wants to steal from the owners.
I have heard on a news program that these farmers are well armed, and have employed private mercenaries to defend themselves.
So this is going to get violent very soon.

I would guess that the same thing has happened in the USA. The constant pounding on evolution from PBS, govt school systems, and the denigration of anyone else makes it hard for people to believe what the church teaches. Oh, I forgot, people are leaving churches behind, as pointed out here a week or so ago in the case of South Carolina, which some people call the eastern end of the Bible Belt. And if such is the case of the Bible Belt, what do you think is going on elsewhere?

No matter what the world says, the Bible tells us that the world will never understand 'God's foolishness'

This reminds me of the statistics involving lesbians. First they form a very small percentage of all homosexuals, who also form a small percentage of all people.
You may hear an example cited about, 'if the world was condensed to 100 people in a room, 10 would be homosexual' this is false, based on the Kinsey study done many years ago, but discredited. Even 'official' homosexual websites do not use the ten percent number.
More accurate is 2 percent. So only 2 of those 100 would be homosexual, and neither would be female.
Instead, you would have to expand that group to 1000, to get 20 homosexuals, and then maybe 2 would be female.
