Went for a walk yesterday morning, after reading something about how universities teachers receiving letter that they cannot celebrate Christmas. Made me think that it's Santa they are afraid of, but Jesus. On the street you can now see their new leader immortalized everywhere, with his slogans, made me think if people let you be their god, then why not? I went under a bridge, and saw people selling pornography mags and DVDs, with kids passing by seeing all of this. Why has nobody try to stop them? The reality of evil working hand in hand sunk in. But I stopped by the Protestant church, and they had performances, and later free lunch for thousands of people. How clearly the light shines in a dark place! To see so few, do so much, for Jesus, was encouraging.

Almost every pastor suffers from Physical, Mental, and Spiritual stress. Preaching and public speaking every week is tiring to your body, and mentally sometimes you get burned out, your brain just does not think clearly, and spiritually he is attacked by demonic forces.

I'm sure that this faithful act encourages and gives a good testimony to the persecuted church in India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan.

Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. (Hebrews 13:3 ESV)

Nationalism is dangerous. Apostle Paul also used to be proud of his heritage, but he understood God doesn't need Jewish People, but Jewish people need him. Likewise God doesn't need USA, but USA needs God.

circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. (Philippians 3:5, 7 ESV)

Yes. I have students from that place and they are not allowed to interact with me outside of the classroom, their province is like east Germany of the cold war, with the added effect of technology to monitor your every move. The truth is they are labeled as terrorists, therefore treated by the populace in a similiar fashion as a Jewish person before the holocaust. I stopped reading daily news on this country recently, because of how quickly it is being given over by God, you can see the sin just increase before your very eyes.

When news like this and other injustices come up from this country, I always feel angry, but I am always reminded that the answer is not fleshly but spiritual.

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:3, 4 ESV)

There are many things Christians can do, but the most important one is to be avaialble. This means to make time, to invite someone for dinner, or. coffee, to listen to them. I visit foreign students dormitories in my school, just to ask them how is their life. To religious students I ask if there is something I can pray for them. There is no foreign church in my city, so being available is a very important ministry.

Facebook and other forms of virtual reality have indeed taken over most believers lives. Facebook before church, Facebook during church, Facebook after church, all with the excuse "but it helps us to be more organized and connected!" or "This is the only way I can constantly make idols of my grandchildren and nephews!"

When my family first arrived to Canada many many years ago, the Mormons were the first to greet us and introduce us, it was an unforgettable act of kindness. With that said, Protestants also did that, with free English classes, and providing side jobs such as babysitting and grounds keeping their houses. This was more than 25 years ago, and sadly the modern Protestant church's overall testimony is a big joke, in my opinion. Everyone prefers to minister on Facebook in the virtual world, and not in real life.

We can complain, or we can actually help them. Christian testimony can be very powerful. It's a dark place, so who can be a light? Maybe it's about time your church put's Iceland on their prayer list, maybe they can Skype some servants on a Wednesday night service, have an Q&A, write a letter to Iceland churches to encourage them. Give them a phone call. Sermon Audio does not have any Iceland sermons, that alone should be a concern and needs to be changed! Maybe a church can help put them on sermon audio. But sadly, Christians are burden-less, and it's shameful. Every member in the church must serve, if not remove them and expose their sin for all to see.

Does not apply to this story, but I do think Christians need to reach out to those people, invite someone like that for dinner, learn about their life, why they do what they do, and share with them why you are who you are. I do this often, it's called love for the lost. Many on the inside have horrible upbringing, though I don't agree with their lifestyle, and think it's perverse (I do tell them that), I can still relate and encourage them, because I too know what it means not to love Jesus.

I lived in Wyoming for 3 long years, and did not enjoy it because it was too lonely being outside with nature. I'm a people person, and enjoy the big cities. With that said, big cities can become small too, live in a big city long enough and the glamour leaves it, and you must find satisfaction elsewhere.

Things are looking grim for China, as many apps like Skype are getting slowly censored, more and more podcast websites are banned, I'm pretty sure Sermon Audio will be next, praying it won't. China is also quickly becoming a cashless society, where your bank barcode on the phone is scanned if you want to order anything, since your phone is monitored, getting your account banned is not good. Visa's for foreigners are getting expensive and hard to get. But the worse is the amount of false bible teachers and missionaries from foreign countries, who pretend to be born again.

I always wonder how the spiritual landscape would change if North K becomes united with the south. Personally, it won't turn out for good, because so many cults would rush in and take over. The Pentecostals would bring their heresy of prosperity gospel, Joel Osteen would be there, not to mention the Mormons and JW's would smarm that country. I remember it happened in 1991 to a lot of former soviet states, Christian music singers joined with heretics and had their revivals.

That is Bad,and almost a normal thing in Asia, but the article does not really tell us their definition of sexual harassment, I get the feeling some harassment accusations are not really Harrasment, but misunderstandings. Being offended is not always Harrasment.
