Brother Tim, you have asked an excellent question. As one of the Reformed types, my kneejerk is to suggest you look at the Westminster Confession chapter on Freedom of the Will, paying particular attention to the referenced Scripture passages. But we'd both say that's too easy an answer...letting someone else argue for me.

I recently read thru I Corinthians chapters 1 thru 2 again. One concept being described there is the work of the Holy Spirit to make us able to discern the things of God. That applies to salvation and our need for it. You've described your testimony here several times. Whether you could discern the hand of the Lord leading you to Himself or could not is immaterial. This passage indicates the whole of the Triune Godhead was engaged before you turned to Him. In my own case, I am dead certain it was Him all the way.

Brother Carl, you are absolutely right about the nature of mental illness. If a person thought he was someone else, with multiple personalities or delusions, that person would be treated with psychology as mentally ill. Same goes for gender delusions.

However parenting the mentally ill child isn't that cut-and-dry. Failure to uphold the delusion will violate doctor's orders. Child protective services will be engaged to ensure the child's medical care meets today's protocols. In other words, the children will be taken to a foster parent who will take the children to what doctors say is the appropriate medical treatment. Even if that treatment is demonic.

Thank you, Brother Frank. I happen to agree with you. There is a verse in Dueteronomy in which Moses instructs Israel that if that cannot bring animals to sacrifice atbone of the required feasts, they may bring money and buy whatever they like, including "strong drink." I understand drunkenness as firmly beyond the boundaries. Cannabis is not mentioned in Scripture but the effect of creating a drunkenness state would place it beyond those same boundaries.

Most societies understand the damage it can cause. I was once in Jamaica & remember seeing signs at a construction site stating, "No ganja smoking on the job."

There is a segment of this world that does not believe in enforcing drug laws as they relate to cannabis. I am not part of that segment. The untold damage from the use of this substance has destroyed too many lives. There are arguments for justice reform, increased taxation, and more jobs thru cannabis farming/processing/wholesale/retail markets. Not worth it. More destroyed people on the government dole isn't going to offset any potential gains...and destroying people is never worth it.

Amen, Brothers Remo and Tim. What evil is happening there is being exported here under the creep of Maoism. Not just PP but BLM, Inc with the Democracric Party.

Yup, lock up those Christians for exercising their First Admendment rights which are now all but abolished in some states.

Absurd arguments, Jim. This is a nation of the people, by the people ,and for the people according to our founding document. We are not under a governing regime that is of itself, by itself, and for itself. All of us here in America have a responsibility to stand up for a government of which we are a part to be a light in darkness and preserving salt in a decaying land.

Enough of your false flag cries of "dominuism!" It's fine if secular humanists impose their crowd-sourced morality on us. But how dare we stand for the veracity and morals of God's word outside our little circles? Because that's your next card.

Will your next call be for state's rights? No state or local government has the right to commit or encourage evil. There too, they are representative governments and the Lord's people are to stand up with their voices there as well.

At some point, you will have to come to the conclusion of who's side are you on anyway. I'm not arguing politics or civics but faith now, Jim. Who is on the Lord's side? Are you following Him?

I believe that 1 Corinthians chapters 1 and 2 bear heavily on this topic and discussion, but share only this small slice of a larger and more profitable pie:

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of a man, which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have receiveth not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit, which is of God, that we might know the things that are given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. But the natural man perceiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. - 1 Corinthians 2:10-14

Might actually be higher, Brother Tim.

There is a significant cultural influence from Easstern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism. And the secular humanist influence is stronger than ever. All of these define "good" in terms they feel regular people meet. The Lord defines things different, finding none righteous, no not one.

It's arguments made of spider webs to feed us lies made out of spider and viper eggs. It's Isaiah 59, Brothers and Sisters. So of course they don't believe in any universal truth. It is increasingly hard because truth seems to always be subjective today -- look at any discussion of COVID-19 and you'll find a wide variety of opinions. Why? Because we all expect the truth to be subjective and supporting someone's agenda. In other words, we don't know what is actually true due to the amount of doubt injected into the data and analysis. Expand that to math. Foolish (Godless) people was to inject this doubt based on a false sense of racism into mathematics. In other words, someone else's truth can't be mine because I'm against that person who said it was true, even if the results are repeatable and provable.

I think this is a larger issue than 2+2, and one we in our camp need to pay attention to in how we deal with others. Still doesn't mean I'm accepting much from certain posters here though, based on a track record of injecting doubtful info and analysis into these boards.

At the root of it, truth doesnt exist because he lies dead in the street. Isaiah 59 is our society.

This is the reslut of critical race theory, which has declared mathematics to crafted by white men, and therefore, it is somehow then racist.

It's about time. I have always considered Mr. Falwell Jr. to be a poor replacement of his father. The things we hear from Liberty University these days are not complemtary. This latest episode hopefully will be the final straw. We know reasonable parents who have spent good money to send their children to this university. Even joking about marital infidelity... What about avoiding all appearance of evil.

I sincerely hope that Mr Falwell is led to repentance and wisdom that comes from a deep and sincere faith in Jesus Christ.

Typical Progressive response from Jim. Can't refute the evidence, impune the source.

I don't trust the Russians either. But the CCP is on the move and owns the Democratic Party.

This is pretty convincing evidence that the Cultural Revolution 2.0 is not limited to within the borders of the PRC but has spread further to the US. It gives credence to those, like me, who have suggested we are in the midst of a Marxist uprising. And it points to the growing spread of an incidious evil so pernacious as to attempt to slip in undetected. Some may cheer at its arrival. Others of us must fallen upon our knees before the Lord and cry for His mercy upon our nation.

Nothing like being in the South, Dr. Tim. Mama used to brag about having something blooming in her garden all year round and her ability to have a year round growing season. She would also brag about local muscadine and scuppernong grapes. Thanks for bringing back those fine memories.

I believe, Jim, that state and local authorities are fully engaged. However, the Senator obviously desires federal charges be filed. The AG is a key element to this effort as the appropriate point of contact for someone in the Senator's position.
