Good point, Jim. I think some English speakers still use "so" in the manner you talked about.

I think the time has already come for a third party to replace the Republicans and Democrats.

Thanks Neil, Hidemi and Bill Grimes. I am in general agreement with you all. "The Torch & The Testimony" sounds like an interesting read.

Hidemi, they should remove the unscriptural images and make room for the Bible on the home altar. This is my practice at my home. The Bible is in full view to whoever enters and it gets read daily. I am of part Italian background, but back at about the time I was born, there were repentances from Catholicism into evangelical churches.

Their theology is more than thin. They are walking on thin ice and inviting many more to join them. Simply praying to Jesus does not mean the rest of life is going to be a joy ride to heaven or even a rough ride to heaven! The New Testament is clear enough on this and even a person with a thin theology can see that the Apostles did not hold to an Osteen-type message.

Hidemi and Neil, I hope you don't mind my interruption in the conversation, but here is my opinion on this: It is my belief that there were orthodox and scriptural Christians before the Reformation. The Bible has been around a lot longer than just the last 500 years, so why would there not be anybody holding to scriptural truth before the Reformation? Of course we hear mostly about the heresies among independent groups and that comes as no surprise since usually errors or immoral living among Christians make the headlines.

Godless societies are not approved of by me, John. Yet at the same time I will not lie by saying the pope is preaching a scriptural gospel and is a godly man. Godless societies are doomed, as are preachers of false gospels even if they sound pleasing. Mormons are like this also...look real good and talk about a godly society......yet.... I think that is what people here are saying...despite the Pope's criticism, what about himself and the institution he leads. Is it godly? Holding the truth and delivering unadulterated truth?

As far as church is concerned, "A bishop shall be the husband of one wife..." A woman cannot scripturally nor morally be a husband of one wife. As for government....hmmm...my personal opinion is the woman shall be at home to care for the family and housework if at all possible.

Good point, Lyn. Which part is outdated in the Bible? None. It is as clear on who is to preach in church as it is about what constitutes marriage(man and woman only). Regarding what I posted below..if a woman is a bishop or pastor, how can she be the husband of one wife?

Only the elect will make it to heaven. They are the ones God foreknew, predestinated, called and justified. The Apostle Paul goes on to say in Romans 8 that these will also be glorified....saved forever.

No John Y, just because somebody criticizes the Pope does not mean we now defend godless societies.

For relaxation we should turn to the Western European Christian time honored system of cocktails. Come on you guys. Do you have a clue as to how ridiculous you sound with your Xenophobic rantings? How can you live so full of fear and insecurity?
Better to sound rediculous than to compromise. As for cocktails for relaxation, hmm...that is news to me. Maybe that is what some other people do, I don't know. As for insecurity...that is news also. I have eternal security. Everyone else who is unbelieving has no such security, so it is no surprise they follow after all sorts of other activities in an attempt to console their awakened yet tormented conscience.

Mike, I cannot disagree with what you said about TVs, Internet, etc replacing reading.I think that is true. Thanks for expanding the discussion.

Excellent point, Hidemi. That eunuch was very likely reading the scriptures in the original language and still asked for help. Now today we have so many modern translations yet Bible reading still drops. I say it can hardly be the KJV's fault if Bible reading is down despite so many modern translations. It may actually be dropping due to the translation explosion.

This happened in my school also. I think the parents won and the new age elements went out. I would not want my kids filled with these eastern superstitions. The Bible records that when the Israelites became polluted by eastern superstitions, God abandoned them and we cannot let this happen.

Good point, Mike. You cannot make everyone gay....happy, that is. And that is what these universities should agree on with this group. We cannot please everyone so why please these people who attempt to persuade others to commit abominable sins?!?!

It is a major abomination what this group is doing. Jesus said it is better for one to be drowned in the sea than for them to cause others to sin...and that is exactly what this group is doing. There is no fellowship between light and dark. Have nothing to do with this group!

Could you please provide documentation to support this claim....reports, personal interviews with the public, etc.
