You have more links than Jim Lincoln, Eyes. And I guess I’ll have to quit picking on ol’ Jiminy. After all, he may be the only openly straight Democrat.

If he claimed to be a queen, Frank, and not a king, the alphabet-soup gang would no doubt supply his attorney and march to defund the cops who busted him.

Looks like someone has monkeyed with your hymnal, Ladybug. The original “Rock of Ages” doesn’t contain the lines “All could never sin erase, Thou must save, and save by grace.” Instead, it reads, “All for sin could not atone, Thou must save, and Thou alone.” Of course the net effect is the same. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His work of atonement, or we aren’t saved at all. NO WORKS! NO WORKS! NO WORKS!

Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The God I serve pardons sinners. The God—or perhaps I should say god—that some serve only grants conditional temporary paroles.

Jim Lincoln wrote (I know he’s still abed, and hasn’t actually commenced his tomfoolery yet, but I thought I’d get ahead of the game):
This is all Trump’s fault (link to article by trans lion tamer on how Trump has ruined his life and the lives of his cats).
Universal healthcare would have prevented this tragedy (link to article by communist witch doctor in Chad).
Some Trumpians got hairdos, too, so the lib lez has an excuse (link to article about white pig farmer in Idaho who has the audacity to go outside without a mask).

I apologize for the correct spelling, but I was in a hurry.

From Webster’s 1828 Dictionary: “Refuse: To deny a request, demand, invitation or command; to decline to do or grant what is solicited, claimed or commanded.” They refused, Mike. As Jesus told the people of Jerusalem, “I would...and ye would not.”
DKH, don’t you think you’re being more than a little conceited when Jesus said “It is finished” and you insist on trying to make it “more finished”? Do you honestly believe that “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” is insufficient to take away YOUR sin, and that you must keep laying lambs of your own on the altar. Micah 6:7–“Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” It seems that in your view, the answer is yes.

No one can open the ear to hear except God.

Nevertheless, men can certainly CLOSE their ears. Zechariah 7:11—“But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.” Acts 7:57—“Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord.”

If safety is the only thing that matters, Mike, why don’t the Major League Baseball teams play their abbreviated season with Nerf balls?

Acts 11:14
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

The house of Cornelius did not get saved by works. They got saved by WORDS.

The “early church” contained scads of heretics with nutty notions just like the modern church does. Ever heard of Mani? Gnosticism? Ebionites (sounds like worshippers of bowling balls)? The EC had the same hodgepodge of beliefs we see almost two millennia later. Believe the Bible. Not what Joe, Moe and Flo say about the Bible, but the BIBLE.

That IS a great question, Mike. And another one is, did they have to endure to the end to be “really” healed?

That eternal life you keep referring to, John, does that actually mean ETERNAL life, or is it really, as Bercot teaches, only temporary life, life that may expire at any moment if we don’t live up to a certain standard—or actually an uncertain standard, since no one who denies eternal security has ever been able to describe exactly what a person must do to lose his or her salvation? Jesus had a role in the early church, didn’t He? Was He just kidding when He said what He said in John 3:14-18, or do you think He really meant it?
By the way, I believe in obeying Jesus, too. I don’t do a very good job of it, but I sure believe in it. And I also believe that obeying Jesus won’t get me one square millimeter in heaven, and disobeying Him won’t send me to hell. Obeying and disobeying have everything to do with rewards, and not a thing to do with salvation. Obedience is, or at least ought to be, a fruit of salvation, but it isn’t the root of salvation.
Jesus the Rock is the only foundation. We can build eternal or temporary structures on this foundation, but “other foundation can no man lay,” and poor DKH is trying mightily to lay another one.

If I pick up three pieces of paper for a nickel, would that be work? Of course it would. And it’s work if I do it for a dollar, or for a million dollars. If I have to pick up paper to be saved, salvation is not a gift. It’s a reward. And salvation has never been a reward.

It’s interesting that the Vatican has cardinals. We have them here, too, along with blue jays, chickadees, and other cousins.

Psalms 40:2—He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
Thank God when He saved me he set my feet upon a Rock, and not upon a tightrope. I praise Him that I am “kept by the power of God” (I Peter 1:5), and not by the power of Tim, which is no power at all. I am so glad I “have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities,” a high priest eager to cast me into the lake of fire if I fail—correction, WHEN I fail—to render perfect service and obedience to Him. I am everlastingly grateful that Jesus is my ONLY Saviour—Isaiah 45:22, Isaiah 43:11 and Acts 4:12–and not merely my co-savior, with me trying vainly to hold up “my” end of His covenant of grace. Thank God that Jesus saves, and doesn’t just help save.

Q: How many liberals does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Liberals don’t change lightbulbs. They picket power plants and topple transformers.
Q: What’s the most intelligent thing a liberal ever said? A: Duh.
Q: What is liberal Joe Biden’s platform for the election? A: If he can’t remember it, how do you expect me to?
