Perhaps we could compile an Honour Roll of those who have received the JD award for (alleged) unbelief!

1. MurrayA

2.

DJC49, would you like the number 2 spot
unless someone who has had this disscussion for LONGER than 5 years contends for number one, then of course you would be going for #3. Unless someone, see this is so old, I've been here for about 3 months and many who like you speak Gods Word to him. He is not a seeker. I like what you say, you are indeed gifted in Gods Word.
If I may, and if the cycle runs its course, your next challenge will be Abigail, its time for her return, I think.

take care guys

If I may ask, what does DJC49 mean?

Saint Terry Evans,
You made a good point when you said "they are afraid of their conregations, etc.'. It is mindboggling to me that many "pastors" are NOT truly afraid of the Lord. I wonder what some pastors think when they read so many verses in the Bible re: repentance etc. What a contrast between the urgency of souls going to Hell by the thousands and contrast this to the concerns over the superbowl and not being able for their congregants to view this in their sanctuaries. I don't want to see people going to Hell. I have a heavy burden for souls. What is wrong with so many so-called pastors today
One who is burdened and confused............
Hi Donnie
I was going to ask how you been but
One who is burdened and confused............
Don't be, you know it is written.
But the Bible says, don't worry and
His burden is indeed light
God is on the throne, our job is to spread the Gospel, and thats it
But the hirerling Pastor, he is held to a higher accountability, just like any other Pastor. Unlike you with a heavy burden for souls, they focus on the unsaved for numbers, alter calls, another notch on their sword, for by there good works God would kinda overlook there lack of burden for souls

Pastors do indeed need our prayer

A good sermon on subject
NFL verse the 501-c-3 Corporate Shill Religious Organizations: The EU is Looking for a Leader
Pastor Michael Slattery
LIVE RADIO:
In this radio broadcast pastor Slattery takes on the NFL and the 501-c-3 Religious organizations posing as churches. This is a classic confrontation where scripture comes into conflict with those who are in actuality wolves in sheep's clothing.
The Modern church that is not going to have a NFL party for only one reason and it is not repentance. They are afraid of being sued by the NFL. They are afraid of their congregations but they are NOT truly afraid of the LORD.

Hi Mike

I think we all maybe guilty in one way or another, even myself

A better question would be, will it continue?
Not on my part, but it will continue
if the rules on SA will not protect the Gospel, this is a christian web site
Nowhere in the Bible do I see where heresy should be allowed to be taught to the saints, do you?
But then what is heresy?
What is the Gospel?

Ok, as my style, I go where Im not invited.
you say

Perhaps we could compile an Honour Roll of those who have received the JD award for (alleged) unbelief!

Yet he is not only a regular commentor but also one of the most commented on.

The other gospel he teaches is not only allowed to flourish here, it is nurtured.

JD, I now just send one liners his way
because he has also said he would ignor my post, and he does. Thats most likely my flesh writing anyway.
For the Bible is clear how one who causes division is treated, and even I am guilty of still perservering with him, may God forgive me.

As for the honor roll,
I thinks its more of a list of shame.
Compare it with Hebrews 11

I was excited to see that churches weren't going to be having Super Bowl parties this year. I was sorry to see, though, that this was not a decision the churches wanted, but one which was imposed upon them. I was hoping to see that some pastors were beginning to realize that the first day of the week belongs to God, and that the church might as well meet at night and worship God again, instead of being a place of entertainment. May our churches stop having a form of religion while denying the power of it! If we kept one day in every seven to focus on God and not the god of entertainment, we would be growing more in grace and knowledge and would be less addicted to the things of this world.
Amen
But todays church must follow the head
The IRS, and in this case the NFL.

How about being asked to leave the store when I went into a Western Wear Store to purchase some goods last week. In the course of my conversation with the store manager that I had given a church tract and invitation, I said, "When a person rejects Jesus Christ, they are sending themselves to hell and not God!"
He suddenly became very offended and said, "Sir, I have to ask you to leave my store!"
I complied, and went outside the store adn told him it is my duty as a Christian to share the gospel with others and give them the truth.
Isn't this a violation of Free Speech and if so, what should I do? I was thinking of returning everything I bought previously ($500+ of goods) and asking him to repeat that statement with a witness present. If he did that, would I have a case to pursue in court?
I sure would appreciate any replies as this seems ridiculous!!!
Hi Ernie

He suddenly became very offended
As do some on even this website do.

Maybe the satanic folks at the ADF would help you.

Just go somewhere else, or just send me your money, I know this great store

The Bible is clear, you plant, others water,

"I think that this is a tremendous threat to First Amendment rights.

I read those words throughout the story.

The Alliance Defense fund (ADF), a legal alliance that is dedicated to defending and protecting religious freedom, sanctity of life, marriage, and family

Nothing about Jesus in that statement of faith

They said that would be compelled speech, ordering the parade organizers to help promote a message they do not want to promote. To apply the discrimination law that way violates freedom of speech. We are making a similar kind of argument in this case."

We are making a similar kind of argument

But then, nothing about Jesus in their defence either.

As a matter of fact even that poor persecuted photographer never mentioned Jesus, she said
her Christian beliefs are in conflict with the message communicated by the ceremony

One might wonder what are such a womens beliefs, maybe shes a mormon, or worst a catholic.
And what is "the message", is that not a bible version

See, I can see Christ in none, no not one in this story, just people doing good things and bad in the name of what
Christ?

Someone asked Jesus
will few be saved

Don't be disceived

America is sinking fast. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Amen? Al Gore's view comes as no surprise to me. All the Dems are soft on the issue of gay marriage [sic]. Huckabee has his faults, but I heard him say in the last debate that he was for the marriage amendment that would have prevented gay marriage. McCain was not for that amendment. Romney has been Governor of Massachusetts with their gay marriage court decision. Was he beating the drums for a reversal of that decision? Did he fight the Massachusetts Supreme Court? No, he did not. On the other hand, Huckabee is so filled with certain hackneyed ideas about the meaning of love (what about "tough love")-- Mr. Nice Guy playing the guitar to a saccharine middle class (they also liked Bill C.'s saxophone in Arkansas) -- that I wonder if he has the internal fiber to lead the country against the terrorists in what my wife describes as "a new type of World War III?" I'm kind of rambling tonight, so please forgive me. But I want to say I love all you brothers in the Lord who are speaking up for Bible truth.
I ramble all the time, so I for one see no reason you need forgivness
I call it fellowship, rambling on about the truth, ALL christians do that, I think.

What do you think a witness is,

There is a war going on between the kingdom of God and of Satan.

A witness is someone who saw the event in question, example in Luke.
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Past event,
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

The war is all around you,
Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ
Past, ongoing or future event?

Jesus said
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel
See, where Jesus is, so is the kingdom
Man has a doctrine similar to that,
Home is where your heart is
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

Is the picture of this guy? If so I would have to get a second opinion if he told me what time it was.
(notice the clock hanging around his neck)

The startling claim came from Archbishop Avak V Asadourian, a leader in the Armenian Church in Iraq.

Archbishop, is that biblical?
Oh yea, now is that Christ like, or WHAT? The black with the hood , the gotee, and those spock looking eyebrows.
Lets get a second opinion on what he says,
His comments were echoed by Canon Andrew White, the Anglican chaplain in Baghdad, who told CBS that things in Iraq were ‘the most difficult they have ever been for Christians, probably ever in history

What should a christian do pray, don't be silly

He called on Christians in Western countries to put pressure on their governments to help Iraqi Christians

And in case you don't, theres always

The Geneva-based ecumenical umbrella World Council of Churches has launched an initiative to help Christians in such situations around the world

Such wonderful "christians"

Who needs God, with people like these

Humorous, no Condeming

Sorry, just noticed a www. link stating
Over 35,000 Christians have fled Iraq

Funny, I don't think you could find 35,000 christians in the USA. A country thats 85% christian according to some

And what, pray, is that? What is my "denomination"?
My comments of late have given voice to astonishment at your inability to answer straight questions
Despite repeated requests, you never did address the issue.
JD, sorry not sure, with whom are you speaking to?
I know I have a habit of going where Im not invited
My statement was no attack, just fact.
Tell me if you would, and I will not reply to your answer, so thank you

is it a sin to be concidered equal with God?

Philippians 2

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Sorry Murray

saint terry, it is an idea contrary to many. It is also not specific to any denomination, many churches employing this as their standard. As for local, the key word is congregation. Distance is not the issue. Many folks may travel many miles to come together as a congregation for worship. It is applicable to any assembly of believers whether in a house or other facility for worship.

New website to attract more men to Catholic priesthood
However, the local congregation alone is able, in prayer to God, in one accord meditating and if possible unanimously deciding, to call and bless some brother to preach.
That sounds pretty good
Would that be the local catholics, or baptist, or reformed, or calvinist, or those who rick warren has starting churches.
And, not being funny, but what is the local area in todays world, 50 mile radius? So there would have to be at least 3 people from each denomination who were christians in every 50 sq mi.
I mean what denomination do I exclude
They all believe in Jesus, even the mormons.
I say 3 because 2 would have to agree on the who the preacher would be.
Can you clairify, thanks

This would be true if the Revelation were written from mans perspective, but it is not. How many time would the revelator, Jesus Christ, need to make the point that he is the eternal God, the almighty, he which is, which was, and which is to come before it would register with you? God can see the beginning from the end and the prophecy here is in a historical setting in the world. For us it is a prophecy of events that will come to pass but for John he wrote of them as if they had already happened. Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Of course I do not expect you to believe that God will create a new heaven and a new earth over whicch he will rule for eternity).
But for your information, these kings are in our future. When the tribulation period begins, it will be with the same personalities that were present when the dispesion happened in 70AD. The revived Roman empire and Israel and a 7 year covenant garanteeing safety and protection. It is amazing
Sorry
JD
Unlike some,
He did not have His Words written for Him to read.
