I did find it a bit ironic that the president, in order to gain the confidence of the people, made a profession of something that the vast majority of his constituency, find offensive. I wonder if they will come to that realization.
Without knowledge, they will never understand that contradiction.

Albeit, sometimes at great cost, this action, exhibited in every arena of life, demonstrates that we are not without power in this secular age.
An action worthy of imitation in our own realm, whenever possible.

From where does the erudition come to the secular mind? A truly erudite mind would understand that it is possible to be blind to certain realities. So far, I have never met one, secular or no, who would assert that nothing was outside of their grasp. Sadly, we cannot 'see' that we are blind to something, until we see it. I believe even Mr. Morgan might understand and attest to this, were it brought to his attention.

Lamentable. This poor clay pigeon. Difficult to believe that this blind individual could have come from a country that produced the likes of Spurgeon, Flavel, Owen and so many other enlightened souls. Wish I could say that I was never like him. But that is what gives us the edge, and that is one of our most powerful tools. We have been where they are, and there but for the grace of God...
Sad are they who 'tamely deliver up their conduct to be molded by the fashion of the day.'

You would do well, and be wise to stand by your own advice, Michael H.
The dangerous additions and changes made in the NASB, NKJV, ESV, RSV, NIV etc., that I have personally found (not by reading someone else), make them nothing more than a reference for a modern word, to me. Some of the mutilations are very obviously to promote someone"s personal ideas. Just for the heck of it, check out Isaiah 65:20 in the KJV vs the rest of the versions, as one example. And you would not believe the damage this has done to the church.

To the pure, all things are pure. And don't forget wisdom. All of the references are to the allure, entrapment, and excessive use of alcohol. We are all responsible to our God and neighbor, by seeking out those ways that will offend either, and avoiding them, by denying ourselves if necessary.
But the warnings against drunkenness, I believe, would not constitute it a sin, to have a glass of wine.

Deuteronomy 14; 24-26. Drunkenness is a sin, drinking is not.

Yes, Jim Lincoln; I understand. The use of the words, 'no heaven', and the quotes setting off 'life', in 'afterlife', were meant to indicate irony.
Since we're here... by 'hell', do you mean Lake of Fire, or the grave?
And what do you believe is the state of the wicked, after death.

Mr Hawking's sovereign statement will, lamentably, be realized, for him, if he does not repent.
He will at last be proven correct, but only subjectively;
just the way unbelievers like their truth.
There will be no heaven, or after'life' for those of such sway.

Let sobriety and faith continue to be our platform. Despite the claim of endorsing the belief in God according to the evidence, Scripture, Truth, and Scripture-Truth loudly proclaims the contrary. I pray we all know that no amount of evidence without the revelation of the Spirit of God will ever convince. Nor can we ever 'prove' God to the atheist.
For a little lamentable humor, witness the sad, embarrassing, mopping up of the floor with Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron by a couple of atheists who didn't even know their stuff, while trying to do just that... 'prove God'.

This man addresses an audience of lizards and idiots. These poor deluded souls actually begin to believe they may arrogate to themselves wisdom. Let them lead astray empty headed children and vacant, frivolous old women, who place their confidence in self-aggrandizing fellows who 'aren't a doctor, but play one on TV.' I am amazed that there are any comments on this thread at all. Let the world love it's own.

As I was scarcely able to hold back tears sitting in front of my computer, sure am I that I would have been weeping into my pizza slice were I there at the food court. One of the noticeably wonderful things about this incident was, all of the people holding up recording devices and smiling; and the amazement of the few children in attendance.
I am certainly saving this for those who cannot see it.

Sure am I that we all know, the more vehement the opposition, the more difficult the retraction. There but for the grace of God go we. Fortunately for Mr. Hitchens, if he truly encounters the Lord, no amount of
pride will stand in his way to the cross of Christ.

I'm still having a difficult time understanding how a man can claim to be a Christian, while continually extolling the virtues of a Christ denying religion.

Am I sorry that I didn't see this sooner.

Footnote, page three, Ann Coulter's book, 'GODLESS':

'Throughout this book, I often refer to Christians and Christianity because I am a Christian and I have a fairly good idea of what they believe, but the term is intended to include anyone who subscribes to the Bible of the God of Abraham, including Jews and others.'

In short; ???????
