I nominate for the first Mars inhabitants: Bill and Hilary Clinton and Big Ears Barry Obama and Mighty Thighs Michelle Obama.

Maybe it would be good for Christians to apologize to all Jews for the Holocaust.
The Holocaust is what is keeping many Jews from believing in God--they say, since He abandoned us then, we cannot believe in Him. And we definitely want nothing to do with the God that those German Lutherans were singing about in their hymnals.

I've read that Central Florida has had to give residents bear-proof trash cans because the native black bear has taken to raiding them. I guess no picnic baskets were around.

I think Baptists today are not the same as the Baptists of yesterday. SA already had stories about how some Baptist churches have removed the word Baptist from their names.
Thus, the old issues of alcohol, abortion, homosexuality, are being put away in the closet so they won't disturb the New People that those Church Growth Experts say the Church today must seek out.
No, Bible-based preaching will not bring them in, unless you can apply a coat of varnish of modern psychological findings to it.

Not true, John Birch Society organ "NEw American"! First, his name is not Kawasha Shibmualdlais. Second he is not black. Third, Michelle--Mighty Thighs--Obama is releasing a book and looking to become the first Woman President of the USA.

I don't think Scotland is part of the USA, so the previous post has nothing to do with this story.

Some may have thought that the movie came out before Mid-term Elections to help remind voters of what was at stake.
Well, it looks like the voters decided they didn't care about the issue this movie deals with. Looks like the pro-life viewpoint will remain the minority voice in the US.

This sounds familiar. I think SermonAudio has sponsored other distributions of the Gospel of John in other cities. I wonder what the result of that has been?

I wonder if he would say the same thing about stock car racing--that its roots are in bootleggers and moonshiners!

You can thank the Lutheran World Service for this gift of thousands of Somalis in Minnesota that have not assimilated.
Thus we have the first Muslim elected to the US Congress---I guess that means, along with Dems control, we will have their prayers and maybe even a shut-down for Friday night prayers. Actually, a shut-down of Congress might be an improvement.

I just checked online to see how the movie is doing at the box office. It is ranked twenty sixth, dropping from eighteenth last week. Not numbers to jump up and down about, but in the movie business, things move fast. You might be able to get a DVD copy at your local Big Lots or Dollar Tree any day now.

This will ruin the economist's adage about their being an alliance between bootleggers and Baptists--both opposed to the legal sale of alcohol, the former because it would cut into his business, and the latter for moral reasons.

It is interesting to note that the rest of the world varies in their adoption of this time change system. Mexico follows it, but on the 'old' schedule (ending first Sunday in October), so there is always a gap on both ends that anyone traveling to Mexico would notice.

The speaker comes from the Center for American Progress. I have never heard of this place--have you? Maybe it only exists in his mind and his fax machine. Or George Soros has paid for it, just like he paid for the group those 2 women who confronted Sen. Flake in the elevator during Judge Kavanaugh's fiasco of a hearing. I think Dems will rue the day they followed George Soros lead in doing that opposition act. Remember, even before the hearing began, the Dem Senators on that committee said they were going to vote NO.
Early voting is picking up as we get closer to Election Day--have you voted already or are you going to vote Tuesday?

This makes a lot of sense, though it is not obvious.

Anyone taking the Yale University course on well being at the Coursera website is learning that our minds want things that are not ultimately satisfying. That new car smell wears off, and you get used to driving it around. It was fun to desire it before you bought it, and then to drive it for a year or two, but then you had to wash it, wax it, pay higher insurance rates, and the fun wears off. Same thing with any material object your mind tells you want. Experiences are better.
Doing kind things for others helps them and others. Talking to strangers helps us and them. Putting fruits and vegetables on your kitchen counter instead of doughnuts, pies, cakes and cookies will help you lose weight (who could have figured that?).
These are just a few examples; check out the course on your own--it's free.

Kneebone does not sound like a real name to me, how about with you? And then the study is sponsored by a group trying to promote its 'real world' activity. Of course, they will not find any result like the previous commenter here said, that younger doctors with video game experience are better able to operate computer-operated surgical machinery.
There may be other reasons to promote hobbies at home and 'real-world' experience, but even that makes me wonder, when I see people walking on the street in the Real World, focused not on walking or their Real World environment, but rather their smartphones!
I guess the only way to 'get back' to this Real World is to move to an area that has no smartphone connectivity. Much of the Florida Panhandle experienced this after Hurricane Michael knocked down all their phone lines and cell phone towers. I wonder if GPS worked there.

Ten months does not seem like a lot. Bigger issues for lifespan would be obesity (oops! out goes those church suppers with abundance of carbohydrates like mashed potatoes with gravy, apple pies, etc), smoking, sitting for long periods of time (oops! out goes reading all these comments on websites, and writing them, unless you are standing up), lack of exercise (oops! out goes sitting in church pews, all facing forward, some falling asleep, etc), high blood pressure, clogged arteries, etc.
And riches won't help you--remember Paul Allen of Microsoft fame, just died at age 65! All his billions of dollars did nothing to extend his life.

I just did a quick online search for Robert Putnam and found the exact interview with the British publication--the Guardian.
Ethnic diversity is the type of diversity that he found reduces community togetherness.
check out the interview yourself at:
