"But perhaps more surprising is the differences in the belief of sin between political divides. Political conservatives (94 percent) believe there is such a thing as sin. The number remains high among moderates (89 percent) but then drops to 77 percent among political liberals."

Hmm, I'm not at all surprised. It'd be interesting to see a chart correlating the sins with the political leanings. I'd like to know what the liberals consider the most and the least sinful.

Just out of curiosity: if your church were asked to turn over financial records to a governmental committee, would you be in favor of it?
Yes. If my church wasn't transparent in its financial dealings I'd be wondering why.

"Several ministries complained that religious freedoms were threatened and said that the [IRS] not a Senate committee, had any business asking those questions."

If they're tax exempt they answer to the IRS and who do they think backs the IRS? That's like saying "my boss has the right to question me but my boss's boss doesn't".

dear anti,
I would venture to guess that Abraham Lincoln's Jesus was quite different than the jesus of Barack Obama. Are you defending Barack?
Ditto!

I feel sorry for anyone who "would feel right at home at his church in Chicago" since it's a heretical UNited Church of Christ.

Obama "prays to Jesus every night" but the Lord Christ Jesus told us to pray to Our Father who is in heaven.

The devout of the kingdom of Israel worshipped statues of calves claiming they were God and were punished for their error by the true God.

This man is an antiChrist. Woe to any who follow him.

David - What's Obama's Muslim name got to do with it? Would you prefer he was named Benedict or Arnold? One's name might cause shame but certainly not offense!

Ronn - Christian America is no more. And just because someone says they're a Christian it doesn't make them one. Bush and Obama are both members of UNited churches (Methodist; Church of Christ). All of the denominations that name themselves "UNited" are heretical organizations promoting abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, and other ungodly activity. Christian leaders are now the few "voices crying in the wilderness" while everyone's flocking to the "ear tickling" leaders who call themselves Christians.

Jim L - The call to prayer is pretty and Satan always dresses up his seductions. But appreciating it makes one a Muslim in the same way listening to Contemporary Christian Music makes one a Christian. There is beauty in the Muslim lifestyle but it's a thin veneer over the basic wickedness of that religion.

None of it really matters since the front runners are all essentially the same person. It's only a matter of degrees between them on issues such as this. We will only be choosing what we hope to be the lesser of the two evils.

I wonder how much privacy she has at her "friend's". Regardless, she shouldn't've moved out. Instead, she should've gone "on strike" on their bottoms when they were little and none of this would be happening.

QUOTE He kept quiet when Brigham Young University fired history professor Steven Epperson, a member of Danzig's Mormon congregation, for serving the homeless rather than attending church.
But in 2006, Danzig finally felt compelled to protest. BYU adjunct professor Jeffrey Nielsen lost his job for arguing in a The Salt Lake Tribune column that the LDS Church was wrong to oppose gay marriage and to enlist Mormon support for a constitutional amendment against it.
The dismissal appalled Danzig, who had explored the questions of homosexuality while pursuing a graduate degree in clinical social work. ... "I was troubled that my church requested I violate my own conscience to write in support of an amendment I feel is contrary to the constitution and to the gospel of Christ." UNQUOTE

Really shows where [the world] and who [Satan] his priorities are with. Epperson deserved his support but engaging in perversion and insulting God is apparently more important than the homeless.

At least the LDS leadership has the proper attitude towards homosexuality.
QUOTE September 2007: LDS Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland reiterates the church's position that same-sex attraction is not a sin; only acting on it is immoral. UNQUOTE

STE, chill! You're overly sensitive. The issue and article are about the 1st Amendment not Christianity. Look at LifeSite's About page

"2. LifeSiteNews.com emphasizes the social worth of traditional Judeo-Christian principles but is also respectful of all authentic religions and cultures that esteem life, family and universal norms of morality.".

LifeSite does not purport to be a Christian website and so cannot be judged as such. The people behind LifeSite may even be (gasp!) "mormon, or worst a catholic".

I'm no fan of Joyce Meyer but at least she seems to've developed the correct attitude about finances.

That "poor" woman may be a believer but she's also illiterate concerning the Word. Otherwise she'd've known better and wouldn't have an excuse to be bitter. Makes me wonder if she regularly attends church and/or does she attend an apostate church that will not and does not equip the saints. But at least she's broken her TV habit. Now if she would just spend that time studying the Word and seeking the kingdom of God she'd have true prosperity!

Bah!Bah!Humbug!ra Walters obviously forgot that Christmas is a religious holiday [from man's tradition tho' not from God] so a religious card containing Scripture is quite appropriate. Perhaps her dismay was more a matter of "Am I being targeted? Why did they send it to me in particular? Are they trying to tell me something?".

She's also forgotten that the President and his wife have never hidden their religious feelings so why should she say "...the President of all people..." as tho' he had none?

Perhaps she's getting forgetful in her old age.

As for celebrating Christmas, I celebrate many events [birthdays, graduations, engagements, weddings, promotions, etc] not ordained by Holy Scripture. But Christmas shouldn't be celebrated as the Lord's birthday. No, it should be a day to show appreciation to the people in one's life. After all, is this not when the postal workers, sanitation engineers, newspaper deliverers, and other service people receive tips and other gratuities in appreciation of their services throughout the year? So too one shows appreciation to family, friends, and co-workers during this period.

Other than that Christmas is just another 1 Timothy 1'4 reference and so not worth quarrelling over.

"He said Myers Park slowly overcame its original resistance to inclusion of gay and lesbian persons ... Blume also noted that Myers Park had sent no messengers to the convention for at least eight years, contributed "extremely little" financially and is aligned with several organizations which affirm or bless homosexual behavior, according to ABP."

How sad! I wonder how long it took them to drive out the true believers. Guess their attendance this year was to gain validation for their apostasy.

2 Thessalonians 3
6. But we command you, brethren, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.
14. And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Praise God for the NCBSC's stance on the Word and compromise! May He prosper all those who voted 'yea', chastise those who voted 'nay', and help those six with the "tickled" ears who walked out to repent.

1. Of course "she has her own faith" else she'd be a Christian. As for her "interest in what's going on in the churches" it always pays to be aware of what your enemies are up to. And Mrs Clinton is very skilled at tracking and tricking her enemies.

A wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf.

2. Now why did she "... promise[d] to “set a goal of ending all deaths from malaria in Africa” ... by the end of a second term, ..."? Is she also running for "President of Africa"? I note that the promise is to "set a goal" AFTER nearly EIGHT years in office (should she [terrifying nauseating thought] be elected and then re-elected ) and not actually to accomplish anything. So she sets up a little something for her successor to fail at for if the goal was set at the end of her first term then she'd have to work it in her second and take whatever flak would result.

3. A standing ovation?! Was she preaching to the choir or did she actually make [bribe] some converts?

4. "“We’re very religious in this country, ..."

Sad but true. If only we were very CHRISTIAN in this country.

Seems the ones that want the fotos in are more honest than the ones who don't. After all, the couples are members of their church. If they are members then why hide their fotos? Those who object should leave these apostates to themselves and join a congregation that will not compromise the Word of God.
