This "Shutdown" by the US Government is a strange phenomena to other nations. Here in the UK the politicians could go on permanent holiday but the civil service and other public departments connected with the running of the country wouldn't even blink an eyebrow in response. What does the daily running of the nations public departments have to do with a bunch of politicians?
“ Pressing toward the mark ” My own wickedness has corrected me and my own backslidings reproved me.It is an evil and bitter thing during the times when I have forsaken the Lord.
This sermon is gracious prodding back into the narrow path.
“ Questionable ” This is the new bandwagon in the SBC, and the fish are all swimming with the tide. Where are the defenders of the old paths? The Scripture texts offered can only satisfy those who want to consider the texts superficially. Even if some of the NT churches did have a plurality there is nothing offered to prove that this should be normative for every church!
