Dr. Tim, your thoughts were apparently coming from the Holy Spirit because we (Wayfarer Pilgrim) and I had the same thoughts. Reminds me of the warnings Jesus gave his followers John 15:18-25. And the last words in 25 says it in a nutshell,âThey hated me without a cause.â
Wayfarer Pilgrim, I was thinking exactly what you just commented. The ones that are living in darkness hates the light because it reveals their sins so they want to destroy that Light. They love their sins more than God. I have read many books by Dodson. He and his wife have been an inspiration to me for years. Never a word of scandal from either one. God bless them for taking a stand against sin.
The color of the ice cream reminds me of picture that a friend put on Facebook (yes I admit I am on there with friends from the town I moved from and new friends Ihave found here) anyway, the picture showed a an aborted baby lying in a small amount of water. Couldnât see his head. A hand was holding the almost developed babyâs tiny hand and arm. The man that did the abortion said (you could read what beneath the photo) quote, this one is big enough to walk me to the store. Doesnât make sense but it was a heartless remark. I can still see the limp gray little hand on the hand that was holding it and will never forget if.And now this !!
Rev1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Vs4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne. The name of the sermon,âCheck Your Inbox â Write in a book what you see and send it to the seven churches:to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodiceaâ Revelation 1:11 He explained the bad and good in each of these churches that was revealed by John. Brother Jeff âs question to us,âWhat is God saying to us from the letters to the churches? I personally love hearing Revelation preached on. Sermon was very helpful and I still have the notes I wrote down.
What I like is that Franklin doesnât mince words or back off speaking out against evil even if means losing the support of others. We need that now that SBC has messed up with this new President thatâs not good. Our pastor has started preaching about sinful life styles more than he ever has and is losing members (Tares maybe?) because of it. Preaching in Revelation now and last Sunday was on messages to the 4 churches. We are living in some evil times and we need to keep in mind who the real enemy is, amen?? !!
The evil of this world is so rampant that itâs beyond me how anyone could be so blinded as to not see or acknowledge it. ISIS being one of the most evil of all. Like Rip Van Winkle, they must have been asleep during the Hilter regime, Charles Manson reign of terror, Ted Bundy Jack the Ripper, etc Jesus being tempted by Satan in the wilderness as the devil tried to get Jesus to jump off a cliff because the angels would protect him. Jesus answering said unto him âIt is said,Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy Godâ I see these people as tempting God with their actions. As saying God Iâll prove you wrong. Scary and sad as they went on their foolish quest.
Well, allâs forgiven and that makes me feel better that I obeyed God when I realized that I had sinned by my actions and needed to ask forgiveness. To those on here and SA as well. I consider myself a Christian rather than a certain denomination and I started going to a little Baptist Church a few blocks from where I lived as a young girl. I actually walked to church and grew to love the Lord. I have left a few churches and keep feeling that the Baptist ,with all itâs faults , is still where I want to worship. So I do like to hear the thoughts of others and may disagree but thatâs ok also. Love and blessings.
God is still on the Throne and in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. This came to me as I read this article. Satan uses his own to try to stop Godâs Word because we are in a spiritual warfare. Paul talks about this in Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might vs11 Put on the whole armor of God...for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wichedness in high places. Glad sermon Audio keeps us up on what is happening that you would never hear other wise.
Thanks James, he is a good hunter and we are just now running out of last years kill. We have lots of horns and deer heads hanging on the walls in our garage and I tease him that a thief would take one look and run the other way
I would like to add that my husband is not a Christian but is a believer in God(??) In other words I have been the spiritual leader in our home. Praying with our children, taking them to church, etc. He is head of our home in spite of that because I believe strongly in husband being head of the home as long as it doesnât interfere with my spiritual life. He is a moral man and encouragement in things even spiritual. So I am thankful for that. My dad was a horrible husband to my mom and mean father. I loved him and keep praying. He got saved a few months before he died in a nursing home at age 85. So l continue to pray and never give up on anyone. God has blessed me with two sons that love God and we have many discussions on spiritual things.
I have a confession to make about the last post I put on here. I was not only wrong about the forum not being edifying to me because it has been and I have learned from others even when I disagree at times but I have sinned as well and ask forgiveness for allowing my temper to say things I shouldnât have. I have asked Godâs forgiveness and have felt He wants me to ask forgiveness here as well. So I do and thanks for any prayers for my husband who had a good report on the Renal Sonagram. Even talking about going hunting in a few months (always a good sign that he is feeling better).
Strange but I havenât seen one post that said anything in the of a godly sorry for them. ?? Just a lot of anger and stone throwers. I have a lot on my plate at this time in my life and so I am done being on this , whatever it is,. No edification and actually a downer for me. I have a friend in one thread and an enemy in another. I didnât want to give that comment but felt you needed encouragement, Jacobsen. Wonât be on ever again .
A big amen on your comments!! We are big supporters of Trump as well. He is not a politician so he doesnât have agendas to fulfill or money and power that others before him have sought. I lived in a big farming country and they raised rice and soybeans and I knew them well. Went to church with them and they were our best supporters. We have a great president that needs our support and prayers . My grandfather was a farmer as well. They lived at the end of the road miles from anything. Went to church in a wagon pulled by his mule that worked his farm with the help of his sons. No electricity or running water. Had 10 children 8 boys and 2 girls ( my mother being one) all born at home with a midwife. This was in Havana, Alabama. Farmers have had it hard and unappreciated at that.
