Strong’s Definitions
καρδία kardía, kar-dee'-ah; prolonged from a primary κάρ kár (Latin cor, "heart"); the heart, i.e. (figuratively)**the thoughts or feelings (mind)***
Concerning hating evil, what evil? 'every false way' is a good definition, which includes false gospels.
Concerning the pursuit of holiness, is that something YOU do, or is it something Christ has done? Strongs defines it as 'sanctification' which means 'set apart'. Do you set yourself apart or has Christ done that? read vs. 10'that we may be partakers of HIS 'holiness '.... so how is it we are sanctified? 'But out of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who has been made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption' 1 Cor. 1:30. Notice 'righteousness, sanctification and redemption are in wrapped up in Christ and come from HIM, not from what you think you do.
What do you do personally US that makes you 'holier' today than last week? Last month?
How much 'sin' do we need to repent of before we are acceptable to God? How do we know when we've repented enough and when we've become holy enough?
the problem with organized religion is that it always, always points the sinner to 'self' and 'works'...never to Christ alone.... |

Jim L, and others, take note......Many professing religious folks will say they no longer habitually sin, these religious folks boast of their hatred of sin, their decrease in it.
NOT so fast, look what Paul says in Romans 7:19-"For the good that I desire, I do not do; but **the evil that I do not want, this I practice**". Look what I discovered when I looked at the original language on the word 'practice' - prássō, pras'-so; a primary verb; to "practise", i.e. perform *repeatedly or habitually*. It's in the present tense as well, meaning it is 'ongoing'. Paul's usage of 'hate' in verse 15 doesn't refer to a loathing, or any emotion actually. Instead, the context better fits this definition-'renounce one choice in favor of another'. He renounces what is right for that which is wrong.
We still sin, even after God saves us, why? Because we are still in this flesh. For those who insist on hating sin, repenting of sin, etc., they are fooling themselves. They will accuse and say we are antinomians, cultish, etc. BUT, the word of God backs what we know- we are STILL SINNERS. The accusations fly from the self righteous 'religious' crowd, 'you are promoting sin!' No, I am proclaiming what God's word says...repentance is a mind change about what you believe concerning Christ........ |

Adriel, you adhere to a presby brand of dead religion, which includes all kinds of works you hold to as evidence/assurance of salvation, like infant baptism, repenting of sin, growing in holiness, etc. The traditions of men and their writings are your standard, but----What does the Bible say? Salvation is by what? GRACE- what is GRACE Adriel? does grace include what YOU do, say, think,feel? Looking'within' is the downfall of the religious, Christ pointed that out in saying 'Not everyone saying to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of My Father in the heavens. Many will say to Me in that the day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare unto them, ‘I never knew you; depart you from Me, those working lawlessness.’ Matt. 7. Take note Adriel, Christ points to these false professors 'works', what they claim THEY do, and He states this, 'I never knew you'. The Gospel is a message of a finished work of Christ, not Christ plus what YOU do. Imputed righteousness escapes the works based crowd. I am a sinner, even now. I will remain a sinner until death, praise be to God for HIS saving grace given to me freely on behalf of ANOTHER. |

Jim, it's amazing how you quoted false teacher Dave Hunt on another thread concerning the necessity for Christians not to get involved in politics, then you do just that...repeatedly bash this President and His party affiliation. So, the conclusion one logically comes to is this, you are not a Christian so your own comments don't apply to you. You then rip the word of God out of context in order to judge those you hate, yes, your comments reveal this hatred here daily. Your self righteous attitude is telling, may God grant you repentance from your present mindset about what it is you deem to be the means of getting to heaven. Your 'god' of politics won't save you. Christ's finished work alone is the only salvation there is, and this understanding is given by grace to the elect.
It doesn't matter who wins this election, America is a nation filled with dead religion, Laodicean churches on every corner, false works based gospels fill the land. Whoever wins will not change that. |

Sister MS, I praise the Lord you've recovered. What some don't realize is there is a family of coronaviruses, which includes the common cold. So, when they test someone and tell them they're 'positive', it could be something as simple as a cold, or it could be more severe.  Well, God does give us an immune system doesn't He? I am in His hands, I am NOT worried about a virus. People will die, that's inevitable. How they die is irrelevant, they are in need of hearing about the finished work of Christ, not their 'works'. The elect will hear, they will come. And we praise Him this is so... Amen sister MS. As for the death of this 88 year old woman NO ONE KNOWS if she had underlying health issues. In any event, her APPOINTED TIME had come. God took her out of here, was it because of a virus? What does the word of God say? "The wages of sin is death". People die every day, from various causes, but, the end 'cause' of death is SIN. Herbal Mama, I have NOT been sick from this 'virus', and I praise God for that. I have been exposed to it several times, I work for USPS and have had to disinfect the entire post office because of two cases. I also was sent to two other post offices to disinfect as well, so that's FOUR times I've been 'exposed'. I did not wear a mask any of those times. Now, if I get sick and die, hallelujah! Too bad some don't get as worked up over, say, the MILLIONS of babies that get murdered every year. But let's get on a soap box over a virus that has a 99% recovery rate for most folks. Too bad those babies don't have any choice in their fate right? It's amazing how some push the narrative under the guise of 'Christianity'.... |

Frank, you would benefit from studying the definition of 'repentance'- noy-eh'-o; from G3563; to exercise the mind (observe), i.e. (figuratively) to comprehend, heed:—consider, perceive, think, understand;... turning away from homosexuality is not a 'condition' to be saved anymore than turning away from heterosexual sin. Again, repentance from dead works is what's necessary, works you think you must do to earn favor. You fail to grasp imputed righteousness. How much sin must we repent of in order to be accepted Frank? When will we know we've repented enough? ***BTW, the elect do flee sexual immorality***, but not so God will save us, or as evidence of salvation. Look at your own lives, each day every one here sins willfully, repeatedly. The Pharisee in all of you won't let you admit that, because you're all too busy pointing your self righteous fingers at others. What sin is it that wasn't nailed to the cross? Unbelief- the sin of not believing on Christ alone, the sin of looking to 'self' and going down your self righteous check list. No matter how much 'sin' you think you've repented of, you don't grasp God doesn't accept even the slightest bit of sin left in you. Again, imputed righteousness escapes the 'religious'.... |

Here's what you don't get Jim Lincoln, murdering an innocent child is not a political issue, nor is it relevant what dead religion says. All that matters is what God has said, and He has stated clearly in His word that murder is forbidden. No matter what spin you put on that, it doesn't change what God has said. "16These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood".
Now, we all know you like to quote scripture, albeit out of context, to promote your godless agenda Jim.
You also say we shouldn't be involved in politics, yet you come here DAILY and promote the leftist political agenda. Your hypocrisy is glaringly obvious, as is your godless agenda. Your 'god' is Satan, for, like you, he is a murderer and a liar from the beginning. You approve of both, whatever it takes to push the Marxist agenda you love so dearly....it's sad you have a platform here daily to do just that. |
