Jessica, I have a question. How would you apply R&R's statement of April 17 9:54 PM to this issue of abortion?
"Are all these terrible tragedies outside of God's purpose and will? You are not getting the big picture. God is outside of all these little happenings. He blends the good and the bad into a grand tapestry to bring to pass His glory on earth."
Greetings Mike,

I went and read the comment and my outlook is Luke 17:1: "Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!"

Thank you for asking and God bless!

Romans 7:20-25 KJV Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Romans 6:16 NKJV Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

We are either servants of sin, or of righteousness.

Matthew 19:16-19 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Remember this verse, Jessica?
James 2.10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
Be careful with that mentality. If you decide to follow one part of the Law you automatically place yourself under obligation to follow ALL the Law.
A person is still required under The New Covenant: Not to kill, steal, have other Gods, commit adultery etc. and yet we are still under grace. I do not seek to be made righteous by The Law, but by Christ's sacrifice for my sins. Thank you and God bless!

We are under Grace now, we are no longer compelled, commanded or forced to give 10%, but we are told as we purpose in our hearts. Can we not agree on this?
I agree, in the New Testament we are given the opportunity to give more, or to give less. Although, If someone chooses to tithe, I don't believe there is any fault in it. God bless!

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Malachi 3:8-11 “ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘ In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

Yet, If your offering to God isn't given out of love, generosity and is done in bitterness and regret: God does not accept it gladly from your hand.

Malachi 2:13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

"But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

Luke 11:38-44 And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner. And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

Tithing must not be trusted in to make one righteous, it is only acceptable if it is accompanied with The Love of God.

I took journalism in college last year, and even if you strip away the evident bias of ABC, the facts are pretty damning.

]]What to do if Someone You Know is Raped

When someone is sexually assaulted in The Church, we should mourn and not act like no wrong doing has occurred. The wrong doer should no longer be permitted to associate with the vulnerable and should be cast out and handed over to Satan if necessary.

1 Corinthians 5:5-7 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

I went to the ABC web site and watched the program. It amazes me at the lack of compassion some in The Independent Fundamental Baptist Church seem to have, for these young ladies that have been mistreated and abused.

The young women in the program were made out to be adulteresses by The Church, when they had been sexually abused. Some of the men in these Churches seem to be of the same mind with scribes and pharisees, where the fault of sexual immorality is placed upon the female.

It's sad when Churches fail in purity and have to be called out on it by outsiders.

John 8:1-11

1 Corinthians 5:1-7 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s wife! And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

1) First of all the question 'IS' a question, therefore what I am doing is making the point of where Jim's polemics are by using a question, - NOT the same as accusation. It is in effect a rhetorical use of question.
2) Apparently you hold yopurself as judge above me, since your implication is that "I" have twisted Scripture. I do not "twist" Scripture. The Holy Spirit is my guide and teacher. Christ is my Lord.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Greetings, I was not implying that you were twisting The Scripture to your own destruction. You said you read and meditate on God's Word and I believe you.

Again, your quote to Jim: "b] Oh I see Jim, you are saying that "sinners" should not use the Bible.
That sounds like something Satan would encourage, - are you in league with Satan, Jim???"

My point was regarding, if sinners should use the Bible. And, I believe that there are some sinners who should not use the Bible, because they will twist it to their own destruction.

I was not referring to you in this regard whatsoever, because you are a believer. I was referring to non-believers, who are hostile against God's Word.

God bless!

I read, meditate and pray over the Word of God daily. Is your point that I do not understand them as well as you do?
Apparently 6 and 1/2 Billion lives today "hang in the balance." Shall I pray for them all?
Or shall I trust in God to save His elect?
And pray in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
My point was that you asked Jim: "That sounds like something Satan would encourage, - are you in league with Satan, Jim???"

Since we are not allowed to direct personal attacks towards others on these boards, I believe you crossed the line in the way you talked to Jim.

My other point is, that even The Scriptures talk of persons, who twist the Scriptures to their own destruction. And, I question whether such people should actually read God's Word?

To answer your question, yes you should be praying for all persons: 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

"Pepsi simply talked about how great it was going to make their beverages taste," she states, "and that their goal was to reduce sugar and MSG in products."

It seems "the taste of a new generation," was tested on the remains of the last generation! Hey, I know how you can see how sweet something is! Actually taste it!

MSG is usually put into products, to cover up the flavour of inferior ingredients. We don't need new chemicals in our food, we need real food.

I am completely horrified and am in shock, that things I have consumed have been actually tested on aborted babies.

Read The Scriptures. There are those who twist The Scriptures, to their own destruction.

2 Peter 3:16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

A man's life lies in the balance, why not pray for his soul rather than provoke one another?

God will use this unto His Glory! Many people are in sin. Persons in whatever type of sin they may be in, need help and mercy. There will be those who will be kept from disease, while they are in their sin and later be brought to repentance. They will give glory to God, for His mercy and care while they were in their sin.

Matthew 5:44-46 KJV But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Jesus died to save, people who have sexual deviant practices. And, for the sin of mankind, such as: gossip, greed, lust, idolatry and many other sins. I still struggle with gossip and anger. Therfore, I am called to be merciful to those who are in sin, since I am also suseptable to sin.

God is seeking to save LGBT people!

1 Corinthians 6:11 KJV And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

When I was a young woman, I used to spend hours looking up archaic words from The King James translation. I have to keep up my KJV reading over the years, in order to read smoothly. I grew up having The KJV read in three grades, each school day.

In my short lifetime many words have changed meaning, and The KJV is 400 years old! To many, it is like reading another language! I regard The King James translation as The Word of God for the most part, though I do not know whether the word "unicorn" is an accurate word translation.

Whatever translation a person reads, if the person obeys the truths that are presented: Then God will reveal more truth unto them. Like loving God with all their heart, and loving their neighbours.

Matthew 22:37-39 KJV Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 22:37 NKJV Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Matthew 22:37 NIV 2011 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

I visited a Synagogue and was surprised that they condoned abortion. They actually used the verse you gave, to support their views. Since the punishment of death was not given on account of the miscarriage, but only if the mother died: They called the unborn, "a potential life".

I believe they misinterpret the Scripture, for it says in Luke 1:44:
"For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy."

I went to a revival meeting last night and there were pastors from all over the valley where I live there. There was also much prayer and intersession for the churches in this area.

The mainstream may stand out as exceedingly sinful here, but religion is not near extinct at the present time.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. Titus 1:15

On these message boards, people are attacking everyone else with the translation they use. One calls The NIV translation evil and another calls The KJV "magical". With everyone speaking evil of every different translation, someone is bound to "cut down the wrong tree" and find themselves burning in hell!

It is presumptuous to say that all Canadians who read The Bible, are reading The KJV. Get into a Bible study here, and there might be three to five different translations in one group.

This makes it easier for the group to compare translations.
