Barry — God bless and peace to you!

Thank you for addressing me here on this forum — when I participate on here, I just end up feeling invisible. I try to make posts on SermonAudio reflecting the Scriptures I have studied, and each of my posts I take seriously. Then so often my posts are ignored, or people start asking me questions about what I believe like they are sniffing for iniquities — it feels very uncomfortable.

I started posting on these forums perhaps around 8-9 years ago, and the attacks from other users of SermonAudio were much worse back then. My health has been extremely poor both mentally and physically for many years and would appreciate your prayers. I do not know how long I will stay on SermonAudio this time; I have a crippling disease which stress make worse) and when posters get aggressive or ignore me, it causes me stress).

I have been a shut in for years, and lead a lonely existence. God bless and may God continue to use you in compassionate ways towards His people...

Would that horrible crime of murder be any less horrible than a lie or adultry in God's eyes?. You have falsely accused me and ranted on and on about me and you make yourself look so godly like you have never done an evil thing in your life to be forgiven for so you in your self righteousness cannot see how this woman could ever be forgiven. I don't believe you are even a Christian, I see only anger and a harsh attitude toward a broken repentant woman. Is her sin worse than David when he cmmitted adultry with Bathsebea and had her husbsnd killed to cover it up when she got pregnant?!!
Dearest Ginger,

Yes this is true, even the Apostle Paul who had ordered innocent men and women to be murdered, was spared a trial, and even prison for his sins. Instead, Paul went on to preach the Good News of The Gospel, while carrying the weight that he was, "The chief of sinners,” for having killed God’s people. I believe such may be the case with the woman who wrote a letter to the baby she had aborted, and is now fighting for pro-life issues.

God bless and peace be with you!

"Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little."

~ Luke 7:47 KJV

SteveR wrote:
My first thought was whether you honoured a 7th day or 1st day Sabbath
God rested on the seventh day, after He had made the world and all creation in six days.

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."

~ Genesis 2:2, 3 KJV

God gave a tenant to the Israelites that they should remember the Sabbath day. I believe remembering the Sabbath day each week reminds a person that God created the earth, and all of His creation in six days. And thus, it is kind of protection against the heresies of secularist evolutionist theories.

Moreover, Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day, which was the first day of the week. I have read of early Christians who would not bend their knees in prayer in the first day of the week, in order to make remembrance of Jesus arising from the dead. The sinless Christ Who conquered sin and death, is our hope and our salvation.

"One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."

John for JESUS wrote:
Jesus was baptized by John's baptism which is different than what Christians practice. Jesus spoke of John's baptism in the past tense because it ended with his ministry.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19, 20 NKJV)
They are commanded to go and make disciple through the means of baptizing and then teaching. If baptism is just an ordinance, wouldn't it be part of observing all things that Jesus taught? Like the Lord's supper, prayer, etc.
Though the disciples did baptize in water, it only specificly happened to Gentiles. Furthermore, all specific teachings on baptism are of the Holy Spirit
Thank you John for your response, I agree: observing what Jesus taught is paramount, and is in my understanding required in a believer's life -- "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." (John 15:7 KJV).

God bless ~

Pastor John Beechy, "yod-shin-vav-ayin," are the letters which spell the name of our Saviour in Hebrew. In my experience people use various ways to transliterate His Name into English. As I understand, our Saviour's Name, "Jesus," is a transliteration of our Saviour's Name from the Greek, which had been transliterated from Hebrew to Greek by Jesus' disciples.

God bless ~

Just as The Book of Genesis teaches that God spoke all creation into existence, so also teaches The Book of Psalms:

"By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth."

~ Psalm 33:6 KJV

Jesus also taught that the world was created, therefore if a person says they are a believer but does not believe Christ -- how then is he/she a believer?

"For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be."

~ Mark 13:19 KJV

Jesus' early followers also maintained that God is the author of creation:

"He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created."

~ James 1:18 KJV

"For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."

~ Colossians 1:16 KJV

All 5 points...
I believe Jesus told the disciples to baptize in the Holy Spirit, not water. Reason being, Jesus never gave instructions to baptize with water, but He did teach about the Holy Spirit. [...]
According to the Scriptures, I believe that we are to receive God's Holy Spirit, as well as be baptized into water, in Jesus' Name. Even Jesus Himself was baptized into water by John. Jesus, commanded His disciples to baptize, and the book of Acts relates the disciples baptizing as being into water, in Jesus Name. I believe it is only Jesus Himself Who may baptize believers into The Holy Spirit. May God continually teach us through His Word and Spirit ~ peace!

Even the Centurion knew that Jesus/Yeshua had the authority to speak healing into existence. Therefore, if Jesus spoke healing into being, why is it so difficult to believe that God our Father spoke the world and all creation into existence?
_________________________________________________

"Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."

When God was creating the world, He was speaking the world and all its fullness into being.

For example: Genesis 1:24 (KJV), "And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so."

The Hebrew word for "said" is transliterated into English as, "amar," and means "to utter, say" (Strong's Concordance). Moreover, the word, said/amar is used in the first three chapters of Genesis both to indicate God speaking creation into being, and in giving instruction.

"Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created." ~ Psalm 148:5 KJV

John Yurich USA wrote:
Why would unemployment lead one to engage in sin and contemplate suicide?
Hi John -- God bless and peace to you!

When people do not have faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, and think they are making it on their own -- it may be very devastating for them to lose their jobs. It is devastating enough for a believer to lose their job, but for someone who has no hope in The Lord Jesus Christ the consequences can be deadly.

Persons, if they cannot make a living legally, may choose to make a living illegally by for example: stealing, prostitution, selling drugs etc. Moreover, persons who cannot support themselves and their families may end up feeling that the only way out is suicide.

Furthermore, persons experiencing oppressive working conditions have also been at risk for suicide. For example, the Foxconn suicides in China, where in a period of one year nine employees committed suicide.

In order to keep profit margins high, many large corporations do not pay their employees a what is called in sociology, 'a living wage.'

"Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;"

Jesus was baptized:

"Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him."

Matthew 3:13 KJV

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:"

~ Matthew 3:16 KJV

The reasons we should be baptized:

"And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."

~ Acts 19:3-5 KJV

"And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord."

~ Acts 22:16 KJV

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?"

~ Romans 6:3 KJV

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

~ 1 Peter 2:24 KJV

When we are one with Jesus in His death (through baptism), we are one with Him in His Resurrection. ~ shalom

Sorry Jessica I don't have an e-mail. Anyways allow me to introduce myself, I'm TeenChristian (TC for short) I'm a dude, 15, Reformed, country musician and coffee addict.
My question is in regards to how you could create an entire facebook page for prayer. I mean what exactly do you teach? Also (I hope I'm not bothering you, just curious) could I ask your take on contemplative prayer?
I just looked up Contemplative Prayer, and only read one writer's view on the subject before we got a phone call that an elderly friend of the family has passed away last night. So I'm pretty upset right now...

As for the Facebook page Biblical prayers: I post Scriptures on prayer, or examples and situations of Biblical accounts of prayer, because praying according to God's will and God's Word is important. I post the Scriptures, and people who have "liked" the page receive the Scriptures on their news feed ~ and I get to learn more about prayer in the process. ~ Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ!

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."

Jessica,
Things have changed for the better (IMO) here on SermonAudio in that there are a number of sisters who post now. It didn't seem to be that way until the last couple years. Perhaps Dorcas will be kind enough to introduce you to them as I don't recall all who don't use their names. [...]

Btw, there are two sisters (SF Texas & Anne) who are expecting babies soon and we are all eagerly awaiting the news.
You are a blessing to me, dear sister, and may we all help bear each other's burdens.

Thank you Lurker for the encouragement!

My thoughts and prayers are with the sisters who are expecting, and am wishing them healthy deliveries and wisdom in caring for their newborns with God's love, nurturing, and gentleness.

My sisters in The Lord (on SermonAudio) who you mentioned are welcomed to send me an email. I pray that I will have an open heart to received whomever the Lord sends to me.

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

welcome back Jessica. I think its been awhile, hasn't it?
Hi Penny, I did make a couple of posts in December, probably for the sake of nostalgia. I now moderate a small Facebook group called Biblical Prayers ~ I post Scriptures about prayer and it helps me learn and grow. I also have a personal Facebook page of more than fifty Christian women (who I have not met in person), and experience being mentored, friendship and fellowship in a private setting online.

I still use Biblegateway online almost everyday, to either look up Scriptures for the prayer page or to listen to their audio Bibles. I wanted to find an alternate way of fellowship than SermonAudio, because I did not want to offend the male believers who were getting upset with me for "teaching a man."

God bless and peace be with your spirit!

Greetings in the mighty Name of Jesus!

I have not spent a lot of time on SermonAudio in the last several years. I did make a couple of posts last December, and didn’t get any response to them. It is nice to share Christian fellowship online, especially when I most often do not have in person fellowship with others. Yet praise God indeed for the provision of electronic communication and the freedom to enjoy our faith with one another online!

Years ago I used to unintentionally offend many of the male believers here on SermonAudio who used to accuse me of being a female pastor. At the time, I found it just a great way to take topics which were provided, and study what God’s Word said about the issues.

Well then, someone who remembered me one here sent me an email recently inviting me back and The Lord has not permitted me to forget about the invitation.

Thank you Lurker and Dorcas: “Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” May God make me a blessing to you both ~ and may love ~ joy ~ & hope be with your spirit!

I just listened to the song, and it is very beautiful ~ If we seek praise from God and not from humankind we will not take this situation as a harm against Christianity, but as a means of God to spread The Good News of The Gospel.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

~ Romans 8:28 KJV
