Been there, Brother Frank. Yes, chaplains have been handcuffed and not permitted to do their jobs. Good ones have been cashiered. I've had my own run ins. I've also met some chaplains who were attempting to preach and teach Christ and seemed to be tolerated. They were also fairly junior.
But you are so right about the nature of this world. You are also very right about what our forebears in the faith went thru. Compared with what I've faced, no comparison.
Amen brother! And regardless of the life we have lived in Christ, all our sins have been forgiven and we will spend eternity with Him. We obey Him not because we have to, but because we want to.

Interesting brother QC.

I spent 10 ½ years in the Army; 1964 to 1968 and from 1971 to 1977. I was in the Army Security Agency which has been disbanded as far as I know. I also was blessed to work at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany as a civilian from 2001 to 2003. I was on a military compound and also got to meet many of the wounded soldiers coming back from the Middle East.

During my military service I was unsaved, so Christian things were not important to me at all. But, when I was at Landstuhl, I got into it with chaplains and even the base commander over Christian issues. Do you know that chaplains cannot present
the gospel to fellow soldiers?

But brother, I fully and completely understand how our employment can conflict with our Christian walk. Christianity is the enemy of satan and he certainly makes that clear to all of us.

Can we even imagine what it must have been like during the inquisition where someone was getting ready be burned alive for speaking out against the RCC. I try to picture their wives and children watching this happen.

It is a very difficult situation, Brother Frank, for our brothers and sisters who work in public schools. We need to pray for our Brother Wayfarer, for instance. I have heard that some school districts are better than others. We homeschool, so that's all beyond our personal knowledge.
Yes brother, life can be difficult especially in any public setting. I remember when I noticed the beginning of PC changes when I was working. I do pray that all of our brothers and sisters who are in the workforce will not compromise their testimony. If we truly trust and believe in our Lord and Savior, then we will not compromise.

Dear Jim, Do you pray for your government? I take it you’ll vote Democrat in November. You do know the hearts of men is the true problem? The SIN problem, which no government can solve. Isa. 31:1.
An excellent comment! Societies will seek what the Lord gives them, but not the Lord. We are seeing that throughout the world. Nothing has changed and your Isaiah verse was right on.

Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I’m sure most of us know that if someone is teaching in a public school in America and they mention Christ, salvation or any other biblical concept they will be fired. I don’t know of any exception to this, so if someone can enlighten me that would be great.

This is one reason why I believe that “if possible” all Christian families should home school.

Before the return of our Lord and Savior, there must be a worldwide falling away from the gospel. We are seeing the escalation of this in our lifetime - worldwide.

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

No Jim, husbands decide if their families go. And if there is no family, the men and women decide individually if they are going to attend. We have no way of knowing what the incentive for this pastor was.

Hillary was wrong; it doesn't take a village. It takes a father and mother.

That is what the individual priesthood means.

Well since I am a believer in the individual priesthood of all believers these church members can either: stop going, worship outside or change churches.

No pastor is not the intermediary for any of his church members. It is the individual consciences of each believer to serve His Lord and Savior in spirit and in truth.

Amen Quiet Christian. I am constantly reminded how easy my life is as a Christian in America. If true persecution comes may I act as boldly and courageous as this dear late brother.
Great comment! I think the Lord would give each of us the strength and faith to serve Him even in moments like this. Remember the inquisitions; there were only a few that denied Christ to save themselves from being martyred. And I cannot even imagine a more wonderful way to leave this God forsaken world.

True Islam believes that someone has to convert or sometimes pay the infidel tax, or die. I say true because there are millions who were simply born Muslim and practice it culturally just like millions of Christians.

Amen QC! I will pray for his loved ones right now!

I wonder what the percentage of elderly Americans with underlying conditions would survive. So, my grandchild gets it and it is like a minor cold. He then gives it to me and my wife and I die. Sarcasm here; perhaps they should quarantine all elderly folks. I wonder what that would do to the mental state of the elderly, their children and grandchildren.

Or they could use this virus for population control. If millions of elderly who don't work were gone, would that help society.

For those of you who think this virus is simply a conspiracy, they would have to believe that the entire world was involved.

All the Supreme Court is going to possibly do is regulate abortion the same as states do. Roe V. Wade has become precedent. But, if just one little life can be saved, then whatever they do is worth it and I would praise God. I try to remember that Christians don’t get abortions and there is no such thing as forced abortions in this country.

But here is something else the article noted. Trump has declared that he will nominate a woman. When Biden did the same thing with Harris there were lots of people who said he was catering to women just because they were women. IOW, skills were not the issue, but gender was. Feminists have hypocritically objected to being tokens. But, here we have the leader of the conservative party doing the same thing. I guess Trump doesn’t realize that the Supreme Court should have the best; aside from race or gender.

I remember when Megyn Kelly previously from FOX news was asked if she was a feminist. She said, “when it benefits me.”

Biden is on one side of the bookshelf and Trump is on the other side, but they are both on the same bookshelf.

You have a good point, Brother Frank. But behind the scenes is a darker picture. The nation has been turned over to our sins. The Lord hasn't raised up another solid Christian leader in quite a while. But yet He has...the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen brother! None of us know exactly what the purpose of all this is, but we know that our triune God is in control. And yes, our leader is and has always been our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

The U.S. is crumbling because of pseudo Christian hirelings like FG who pretend to be servants of God when in reality they are servants of a political or cultural movement.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

In reality, the Vatican could care less about its followers. It would be the same as saying satan cares for his followers. They absorb their deviants and as long as someone pays any homage to their pope, then all is well. So, someone can be and promote communism and they really don’t care. They are a lot like politicians and simply give lip service to the word of God.

They are satan’s church on this earth and the great whore spoken of in Revelations.

Yes, Bethel spreads all sorts of ideas and docrines that are not valid. Finney did the same a couple of centuries ago. The Lord still calls people to Himself, despite these men's failings...and mine.
Well said brother! Non-compromising and yet loving at the same time. And yes, all the glory belongs to our heavenly Father and He will not share it with His servants.

Yes brother most voters do in fact vote for their own self interests. A few years ago Romney was caught saying that "47 percent won't vote for me anyway". He was referring to those that were dependent on government handouts, etc.

Many believe that "truth" cost him the election? So, telling the truth is sometimes not in the best interest of politicians.

One day the antichrist will control the entire world and all the nations of the world, including ours, will worship him. This is of course better done with socialism and communism. Citizens of these types of countries have little or no say in their governments.

This pandemic has given me some insight in how easy this takeover will be. The authorities set rules and even if those rules are against God’s commands, they are widely accepted by His children. When there is a conflict, we should always obey God and not man.

Excuse me, it was brought up by an American.
I understand why missionaries who travel, taking the gospel to those who have never heard it, dread taking a furlough back to the decadent, backslidden western nation they started out from. When they win converts, they begin to see what pure, unadulterated Christianity is really like, and they wouldn't trade it for what they started out with.
Imagine coming home and doing a little tour of churches to let the dear, backslidden folks know how they are faring in foreign parts. Perish the thought! I could not do it. I would rather stay abroad with simple, loving folks, who had been filled with the Spirit and were bearing the fruit of it, and who loved and appreciated me.
Just a few facts of life.
Pilgrim, an Italian American to be exact.

When I think or worship, I think of what someone esteems the most. That should clear up any confusion as to my intent.

Gotta go pick up dinner! Hang in there.

Carl, I remember that episode, it was quite bizarre. The Yangs reverenced their constitution as if it was a god. It reminded me of some of my American brethren who similarly reverence their constitution.
Oops.
Yes brother, there are those that believe American is and always has been a Christian nation. Of course anyone with a little knowledge knows that isn’t true.

And of course it is difficult to explain why such a precious document needed or was amended 27 times. And yes, some of those amendments didn’t add something, but redefined or changed the original.

And you are right; there are so many cultural Christians in this country that do worship the constitution.

You and I worship our triune God.

A little off topic.

It takes a lot to declare someone is excommunicated from the RCC. Normally a catholic can do pretty much anything they want and then some priest will simply absolve them.

In case someone isn’t aware of the Catholic heresy of absolution, the below is what a Priest will commonly say following a confession. Notice how they interchange the usage of power and authority, but then the conclusion is clear and succinct “I absolve you from your sins”.

“May our Lord Jesus Christ absolve you; and by His authority I absolve you from every bond of excommunication (suspension) and interdict, so far as my power allows and your needs require. [making the Sign of the Cross:] Thereupon, I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.”

And or course there are an amount of; hail Marys, Acts of contritions and our fathers that must be said as penance.
