Yep, Mike. Sounds Biblical. The Apostles warned of apostacy plaguing the Church and then also the increasing wickedness in the world....seems to be happening in this order..first relgious apostacy(liberal church) and from there affectig the world. Jesus warned that if the salt is no longer salty(if the Church becomes liberal) then there is little effect on the world and such salt is useless. Let this be a warning to the professing Church. |

BJ in Va wrote: remeber the U.S. isn't part of the end times I would not be so sure about that. There is still time to repent or else be part of the end times. For good or bad, the US is very likely part of the end times. Considering how the US "controls" the world with its entertainment industry(which is quite corrupt) and foreign policies and economics, it is part of the end times, in my opinion anyway. |

Hi Mike. Good input from you also. Despite being out of the country, I did my duty to vote according to my conscience and I confide with you and the others concerning the results. It has been interesting to answer people's questions here(the other side of the pond) regarding this and it has been interesting to observe it from outside. I am sure there have been many discussions on the radio here, but how much do I understand what I hear...well....one word..President..lol, and the candidates names. |

Mike wrote: Indeed. So these born again of the Spirit can then have faith and believe in order that they may be saved. Jesus says in John 10:26 "Ye believe not because you are not of my sheep." Logically, one must first become a sheep. Or else He would have said you are not of my sheep because ye believe not and that would mean He is a god who is subjected to man and cannot act until man does something, which would make man more powerful than God. This is probably why the Apostles acknowledged that God grants repentance and ordains to eternal life and how we are born not of the will of man, but of God.(John 1:13, Acts 11:18, Acts 13:48) and Paul's discourse on predestination(Rom. 8:29,30, Eph. 1:4&5, 2 Thes.2:13). And the shepherd has authority over the sheep as the potter has authority over the clay. |

I am concerned by the last statement about the ministers in that parish...they don't care. Is that a church according to the Bible standard? They don't care? The Apostle Paul cared so much for fellow Christians that he was driven to tears and almost anger...dissappointment at least when they substituted a false gospel for the truth. A congregation should care. But then again, this is a local expression of the carelessness of the entire RCC..regarding its careless handling of doctrine and practice. |
