So a third co-worker is watching him and the other christian. He has heard the other christian preach quite a bit.
He gets a chance to work side by side with the quiet man. He feels compelled to engage this man about who he is, and what his interests are. After a while the man begins to explain the joy he has in the Lord. How the Lord called him out of darkness and into the light. Preaches the gospel to him in a way that he hasn't heard or felt before. Though he has heard "the good news" before.

Which one did the father's will?

Have you read your...
Those scriptures in 1 Peter came to my mind as well.

Andrew...
I hope you can bare with my words.
What you are saying is, that if a man preaches the gospel, whether he has the right motives or not, is the only biblical way?

Let me ask you what you think of this(btw, this is more experience than parable)

A christian man at work shows great interest in preaching the "good news" to his fellow workers. He talks about it more than he does politics, sports, current events, etc.
He also shows interest in commenting about women that walk by in a way that grieves the spirit.

Also...

We have another man at the same place of work. He is a quiet, kind man. Doesn't run his mouth a lot. Works hard. Minds his own work. Yet he has a joy that most men don't have.
There's something different about him. Something that makes people curious.

Andrew...
Thank you for your post. It is not demeanor only, but the mind and mouth of Christ which is fruit of the new birth. The life. Christ in you, the hope of glory. That we would be like him in this present evil world. Which is the power of God. Pre destined to be conformed to the image of his son. Reality!

Romans 15:5-6 (kjv)

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I miss them too. Thank you for the kind words.

2 Peter 1:10(esv)
Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

Please pray for me(and also any other brother or sister reading this). I am visiting a dear family friend, who is a sister in the Lord, on her death bed today. May the Lord grant me words of comfort to her in thanks for the great Godly love she has shown us her whole life. Thank you in advance. Have a blessed day.

The life in you (which is Christ) is your witness. Which draws men.

I've been considering the term "name it,claim it" lately. Maybe we should stick to calling it "prosperity teaching". Or more correctly "false teaching".

I say this because we all say "Amen".

And what does Amen translate into?

Carl. You have gotten sound advice (and I also agree with SteveR) Also remember this... we can read the bible cover to cover several times and never know the Lord. It must be in tandem with a seeking of his face in deep prayer. In doing so, you won't go through the word of God, the word of God will go through you brother.

Carl...
I think Peter gave a great sermon on this topic...
1 Peter 1 : 3(esv)
Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. To an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded THROUGH FAITH for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, THOUGH NOW FOR A LITTLE WHILE, IF NECESSARY, YOU HAVE BEEN GRIEVED BY VARIOUS TRIALS, SO THAT THE TESTED GENUINENESS OF YOUR FAITH-MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD THAT PERISHES THOUGH IT IS TESTED BY FIRE-MAY BE FOUND TO RESULT IN PRAISE AND GLORY AND HONOR AT THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.

Please read 1 Peter 4: 12-19 as well.

Hang in there Carl. I will pray.

Almost every day, this guy throws the bait out there. Usually the first comment, which is a post designed to get reaction. And time after time people take the bait.

He has received much biblical council, true desire to see him born again.

I for one am tired of seeing people respond to it.

You can make the argument that a response is necessary for new comers and alike...

Well... it also makes people think you are judgmental and cruel to him. Because they don't see it daily like most of us.

At this point, ignoring him is the only way I think it will cease.

Dave, you seem fired up a bit. What Jessica is highlighting, of which I agree, is that preaching the gospel of Christ is one thing. Taunting another religion, even though it is false, is quite another thing entirely. As my earlier post alluded to.

If a child taunts a dog to bite him, and he does bite him, who would blame the dog?

If a child helps a dieing dog, tending to his wounds, and the dog bites him, then we can blame the dog.

A dog is a dog.

1517, nosey...

Humble words I agree with. I too have been humbled by the Lord recently.

If we dare to touch and carry the name of Christ on our lips, may it be handled with the utmost care.
