Maybe the Pope has something? Nixon was toying with the idea
David Beake wrote:
A basic income ... came close to fruition in the US in 1969 through the unlikely offices of President Nixon, who wanted every American family of four to have, from the state, at least $1,600 dollars a year – that’s $10,000 today. Until, that is, Nixon was reminded of events in Speenhamland, Berkshire, in 1795; there every citizen had a basic income against rising food prices and, by most accounts, it all worked well but a royal commission falsely claimed that all manner of social evils befell the town. Nixon’s advisers, including one Milton Friedman, recalled this and the idea was swiftly dropped....

Ah, yes, this shows that left wingers can be just as tied to lies as right wingers, to quote old Joe,

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” ---Joseph Goebbels

That's Goebbels that is.

It will be interesting to see how Joe Biden might react to this, since the Romish Church looks kindly on queers, but he may very well think it expedient to ignore this idea of supporting queerness?

Scientifically speaking, when it comes to people there are only two sexes.

Romans 1:26-27

.... 26. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. 27. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.

One might wonder if they're just might been a wee bit of racism involved? The police should definitely apologize ❗

Now, the listeners no doubt actually benefited from this interference, q.v.,

But still, they should have every right to listen to it and the "holy roller" should have had it every right to preach it.

Serenity Prayer
- Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Perhaps more people are willing to let church members drink the Kool-Aid. However the majority, apparently large majority of the people in the poll are against it. Of course these church members are carrying out a foolish practice, but unfortunately it was shown here and abroad (e.g. South Korea) that this virus doesn't stay with church members but is carried out in the community to infect other people. It is just plain thoughtless on these church members' part

David Brooks wrote:
My analysis begins with a remarkable essay that Jonathan Rauch wrote for National Affairs in 2018 called “The Constitution of Knowledge.”

https://tinyurl.com/ycrgnp8c

Rauch pointed out that every society has an epistemic regime, a marketplace of ideas where people collectively hammer out what’s real. In democratic, nontheocratic societies, this regime is a decentralized ecosystem of academics, clergy members, teachers, journalists and others who disagree about a lot but agree on a shared system of rules for weighing evidence and building knowledge.
....
What to do? You can’t argue people out of paranoia. If you try to point out factual errors, you only entrench false belief. The only solution is to reduce the distrust and anxiety that is the seedbed of this thinking. That can only be done first by contact, reducing the social chasm between the members of the epistemic regime and those who feel so alienated from it. And second, it can be done by policy, by making life more secure for those without a college degree.

Rebuilding trust is, obviously, the work of a generation.

There has certainly been some massive protests about this.
Jean Mackenzie, BBC wrote:
government attempts to ban nearly all abortions.

We spent a night on the streets with the protesters as some were beaten and pepper-sprayed by police.

The Catholic country already has strict rules on abortion but the new law would stop women whose babies were likely to die after birth from having terminations.

Shocked by the scale of the protests, the government has delayed the ban, but some hospitals have already started turning women away.

The decision taken by the US Department of Justice to lift all parole restrictions, including freedom of movement, on Jonathan Pollard brings to an end the 35-year-long saga during which the State of Israel was forced to contend with a tragic episode that will be remembered as one of the greatest strains on Israel-US relations.
Let us begin from the end: It is my opinion that it would be preferable if Pollard did not move to Israel, or at least not in the immediate future. For many years, I was one of the few people who handled this case, was informed of all its details, understood all of the facets, was aware of all the associated dangers, examined all of the circumstances and complications and took pains to get Pollard’s sentence reduced....

• The men's lawyer said the Pope had been named because he is the only one who can defrock a priest

Luther wrote that letter in the midst of an outbreak of the bubonic plague in Wittenberg,...

In his treatise, Luther wrote:
