Will Hay wrote: There is no constitutional basis to limit the second amendment to the free possession of all varieties of guns. It does not specify guns, but a generic term arms. Arms are any kind of weapon. Bazookas, rocket-propelled grenades, missiles, mustard gas and suitcase sized thermonuclear devices are all weapons. These should not be restricted into the hands of government. Our very existence as a free people depends on the right of all people to have access to the SAME level of arms as the government. This is the eternal principle that God enshrined in the Bible, natural law and the second amendment. Since there is no biblical basis for owning weapons then couldn't the constitution be amended? I'm sure. Plus, there is nothing in the constitution that protects the ability to track firearms when purchased, or limit the number and types of firearms a person owns. |

The issue I have with all of this is as follows, I support DOMA however, all of the laws aren't going to prevent individuals from this behavior. It isn't going to stop homesexuality. It isn't going to make people want to get married. You can focus on our laws and argue all you want, I'll stand beside you the entire time. At some point we are going to have to make an impact on the culture! |

Jim Lincoln wrote: It's not telling them they are sinners, but --all-- are sinners. The mechanics of the presentation of the Gospel shouldn't be. Well put Jim, and I agree. The message hasn't changed after all these years. It can't change! I've set through too many church services getting yelled at to believe that it is effective on the streets to people who do not believe. |

I suppose from England's point of view of that day it could have been seen as an act of terrorism. I'm sure that is the way the patriot's would have been treated had they been caught. |

Rufus wrote: What say you about the following passage? "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device." - Acts 17:29 Ought we to think the Godhead should be graven by art and man's device? I think I agree with Rufus on this. In my area there was a 40 ft. Jesus at a church that was struck by lightening. That church didn't concentrate on anything for the last year until that statue was replaced with a 52 ft. version. The media called it 'touchdown Jesus'. I'm not so sure that people aren't worshiping these images!!! Hope not. My question is, with all my brothers and sisters on SA and the ones I hang out with at church and at work, how can there be so many interpretations of God's word? We all can't be right! |

Mike wrote: Barry, no stock should be put in parties, but individuals may be scrutinized, and what little liberty is left may be supported or diminished accordingly. The German people, many Christians included, in the 1930s put stock in party, but did not scrutinize the individuals, and looked the other way while their nation was led to destruction. Your faith will lie in God on 11/7, and that is a good thing. What does that mean for you in terms of 11/6? Yes, Mike as usual you are spot on, the individual should be looked at instead of the party. The only thing that I would like to add is the rhetoric of us losing our liberties. I am as free today as I was 8 or 12 years ago. Except for a few terror stories from the TSA I don't think we have lost a thing. This is still the greatest country in the world to live. And, I think Kentucky is one of the greatest states to live in as well. |

Rufus wrote: Yes, praise God Texas has had some victories. However, were it not for the U.S. Supreme Court, abortion would be illegal in Texas. It was a U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 that consisted of 6 Republican nominated justices and only 3 Democratic. If one believes that voting Republican is the way to hinder or end abortion in America, one is believing a lie. It bears repeating, there is zero difference between the Republicans and the Democrats save for the Republicans at least say the right thing. Personally, I care little for what they say but care more for their fruits. The fruits of Mitt Romney are every bit as diabolical as Barrack Hussein Obama, the difference is only in the degree of subtlety. Vote for one or vote for the other, abortion will not be ended, illegal aggressive wars will not end, the erosion of civil liberties will continue and this country will have the government it deserves. Rufus, thank you. It warms my heart to hear this. Too many people on here put way too much stock in their parties, Democrat or Republican. You can't put your faith in either of these two men. When it's said and done, God is always in control and ultimately that is where my faith will lie on November 7th!!! |

Someone else comes along, poses a different view to you (3?) and then you all turn on that person. If that person actually shows any of you up, the rest of you chime in - thus people coming here pretty soon discover the trap you set them. Then you can always start the 'humour' - mocking - and all join together in your humour. By the way Frank - there isn't a law against putting whatever name you like whenever you like on this site - take it up with the site moderators. Maybe you find it a moral issue that you can have more than one 'moniker'. Free speech Frank.[/QUOTE]I agree Phoebe, and if some don't disagree with you they twist your words until they make you say something your really not. I personally think SA needs to have a warning label that says, "Caution, may be hazardous to a new Christians walk". If I had logged onto SA and was a new Christian I would leave really confused. Another thing, I have said this before, there are many "pious" people on here that will have you reading the KJV only bible in cave by candle light while they set in Starbucks and pat themselves on the back for being so religous. Don't let them scare you off. The internet makes everyone brave!!! |
