Ladybug, I am familiar with what the Interlinear says, and I also understand what it means. It means whosoever. No one that I know of is denying the doctrine of election. I just donât think you know what it meansâor want to know, for that matter.
Ladybug, I donât have a whosoever (âyourâ whosoever, as you phrased it). Thatâs Godâs whosoever, not mine. If you have a problem with it, take it up with Him, not me. Itâs His book, not mine. Frank, I donât see how it could be more obvious that if someone comes to Jesus in repentance and faith for salvation, he or she was drawn by God and IS one of the elect. How could anyone not see that? Again I ask, does anyone believe that Satan would draw men to Christ? I think Jesus dealt with that issue very effectively in Matthew 12:25-26.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye [dead people who are incapable of coming] that labour [even though you are dead and therefore incapable of laboring] and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest [from nothing, since you are dead and canât feel anything anyway]. Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come [but of course they donât really mean it, because the people they are inviting to come are incapable of responding.] And let him that heareth say, Come. [Ha ha! Just kidding! Donât you nuts know you canât come even if you want to?]. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. [Obviously these two sentences are not inspired writ, but were inserted by some smart-aleck Arminian to give non-elect folks a false hope.]. When your ideas about salvation are based on a skewed view of scripture, and not on a whole and balanced treatment of the Book, you really have to go through all kinds of gyrations and gymnastics to try to make everything fit. Itâs far easier and wiser to just accept the Book as it is written.
I take issue with the idea that Christâs blood was like any human blood. In fact, I donât believe it was human blood at all. Acts 20:28âTake heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. There are only two possible antecedents to the pronouns âheâ and âhisâ in this verse: the Holy Ghost, and God. Either way, âhis own bloodâ refers to the blood of God, not the blood of a mere man. As Nicodemas said, âHow can these things be?â Biologically, I couldnât tell you, any more than you can explain from a biological standpoint how someone can have a human mother and a divine Father. Fortunately, I am not required to understand itâjust to believe it.
I wouldnât give a plug nickel for John MacArthur and his heretical teaching on the blood of Jesus Christ. However, I would stake eternity on Revelation 22:17ââAnd the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And WHOSOEVER WILL, let him take the water of life freely.â If youâre thirsty, you are invited by the Holy Spirit of God to come, and if you will come, you can drink. This is not manâs philosophy or âArminian dung.â It is the solemn promise of God Almighty. To deny it is to call God a liar. Ladybug, may I suggest that almost every thread tends to go south when people emphasize and misuse one aspect of scripture to cancel, deny and abrogate other aspects. The Bible teaches that anyone who wants to get saved, CAN get saved. The fact that they want to is evidence enough that God is drawing them (John 6:44). Do you honestly believe the devil would put that desire in people? Or that Satan would draw men to Christ? That is not only not sensible, it is blasphemy.
Romans 10:8-9 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if THOU shalt confess with THY mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in THINE heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU shalt be saved.
Who is âthouâ in this scripture? It is anyoneââwhosoeverââwill believe on Jesus Christ as Savior. Donât sit around and worry yourself sick about whether or not you are âelect.â Trust Jesus to save you and He willâand when He does, youâll realize you were elect after all. âBelieve on the Lord Jesus Christ and THOU shalt be saved.â (Acts 16:31). âFor WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL be saved.â (Romans 20:13). âCome unto me ALL ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I WILL give you rest.â (Matthew 11:28). âHim that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.â (John 6:37) Some people act like theyâre scared to death that somebody might get saved who wasnât âsupposed to.â Anyone who truly comes to Jesus for salvation gets salvation. Luke 11:12âOr if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
In June, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to promote religious freedom worldwide. During his presidency, Barack Obama signed an executive order to promote sexual perversion worldwide. Both executive orders are fair representations of the beliefs of each of the two major parties in America. A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for the outpouring of Godâs wrath on America.
Jim, should Satanists (thatâs just another name for Democrats and liberals, you know) try to force the kingdom of their daddy the devil on others? Yâall do it every stinking day, you hypocrite. Donât worry, old pal. Real Christians will be oughta here one day and people like you can enjoy seven years without us. Well, maybe not âenjoy.â But weâll be gone for a while.
