Dave, I'll keep on praying for Paul, my friend had a friend who was a Satanist and he got saved, and I think he went to Bible College. Just thought I'd mention that as an encouragement, God certainly is abundant in mercy.

I already know what it is like to speak with inmates, murders, homosexuals, even police officers and treat them as precious human beings

In fact it is easier to speak with men in prison of Christ, to worship with them, pray with them ... or have them do some serious praying for me and others, then all too often to have real genuine fellowship with high minded "educated" religious church people

Since talk is often so very very cheap please don't be upset with me for daring to want to know your 'bonifides.'

And to be clear to anyone, especially any born again child of God reading this, Jesus Christ has His specific will for you - Peter to the Jews, Paul to the Gentile both preaching the Gospel, both men of prayer, both willing to die for the Gospel, all of us will either be serving Him in what He has called us to ... or being unfaithful disobedient to Him, even a stumbling block to others .... let's NOT be that.

And praise God for your testimony

As respectfully as I might are you preaching some kind of abandonment theology?

Do you not know
Or have you not considered

How incredibly important TRUTH, Righteousness, Justice and Peace are to Almighty God, our Sovereign Creator?

Or how frightfully real the Spiritual War we are in right now is? Where Satan is out to do everything he might wickedly do to use religious people to shut up the kingdom of heaven from men?

Primarily by silencing them and their witness of Jesus Christ.

Let me encourage you, to please don't shoot yourself in the foot, or hinder and be a stumbling block to others in their witness by acting like things in the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. Constitution are somehow unimportant matters

Are far too many today weak, whimpy, being destroyed for a lack of knowledge (worse because they reject knowledge), perishing because they have no vision? Certainly!

Do you need a little reminder Paul used his Roman citizenship as a part of his ministry?

IMHO we who live in the U.S. ought to do the same with our citizenship too

I am so thankful to God for men like Jeff Durbin who keep Jesus Christ, the Gospel, Prayer, Biblical Apologetics with the design and desire the saving of souls, and helping people central, NOT the winning of arguments; and not just outside abortion clinics but everywhere.

I don't know about you but I have so much to learn and grow into.

Baptism (Believer's Baptism by Immersion) is NOT some kind of fire insurance for some one worried about going to heaven. And interestingly 'fire insurance to go to heaven' is how the RCC sold sprinkling babies to their subjects and sadly how some "Protestants" sell their baby baptisms as well

While we may have considerable disagreement on political/social issues

I honestly have to Thank You for the links to 2 excellent articles you gave regarding BAPTISM

IMHO the RCC didn't need "reforming" it needed, and still does, REPENTANCE and Christ's words to believing people in the RCC is "Come Out" and I believe it is safe to say that to for any church/denomination thatou has gone apostate

Question for some: What's the matter are you too proud to humble yourself, renounce your infant sprinkling as not being right (it isn't and must be forced upon and into Bible verses twisted to hold to it) and publicly profess faith in Jesus Christ (give a real testimony of conversion, not a fanciful delusion of "I've always been a Christian") and come fully under the authority of the word of God and be publicly identified as a Christian

Something you might die for in certain countries

I am all in favor that we, who are genuinely born again of the Holy Spirit, especially preachers correct this and restore rightful convicting meaning to being Born Again!

IMHO preachers ought to make the words "Born Again" sing with Biblical mean, contend and to be so urgently desired, lost men and women are simply unable to mouth an empty 'sinners prayer' but seek God with everything within them until they know they are saved by God and for God or they die ... I picked up on this attitude from Paul Washer

I am all in favor of sinners who having heard the Gospel, having come under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit ... I am very much in favor these praying! praying with/along side them and for them as they are praying until serious business has been done before the Throne of God above
If we are not careful rejecting empty sinners prayerism can hobble real pouring ones heart out praying ... let's NOT do that

I really like Ray Comfort
I believe his exhortation to rightly use
The 10 (immeasurably good for all of us) Commandments in our evangelism "Hell's Best Kept Secret"
is spot on

In the providence of God, I am so thankful for men like Jeff Durbin, Jon Speed, and Ray Comfort and also woman like faith and passion to see souls saved, who see abortion not as a moral issue but what it really is a Gospel issue

And approach both the mothers and the fathers and also those who work at abortion clinics in a humble loving compassionate way WITHOUT watering down the Truth to plead with them about both salvation and the lives of babies

But they don't just stop there but also preach the Gospel to Mormons and Muslims, to regular everyday people and those caught up into all sorts of causes and protests ... loving them enough to treat them as precious human beings and humbly tell them the Gospel as sinners themselves saved only by the mercy and grace of God who is mighty and willing to save any of us no matter how great or seemingly small (no sin is small) our sins have been.

Blessings to you in your praying for
and witnessing to the lost to see them
soundly saved

If we say abortion is wrong, evil an abomination, lets do more than put up 2 white roses on the pulpit for 1 sermon a year on "Pro-Life Sunday"

If I may approach this topic from a bit different direction. If there is a group of serious believers seeking to be faithful to Scripture, to real mountain moving intercessory prayer, to real outside the walls of the church building soul winning and disciple making, the stand in the face of men and devils for the truth of the world of God ... who desire a pastor

It might be a very good starting point to interview the pastor's wife to see where she is or isn't in her faith because she will either be a godly helpmeet or a hinderance to the depth of his faithfully serving Jesus Christ, and her faith will either encourage the church or discourage it

And of course a God Fearing on fire for the Lord and Gospel couple might likewise want to consider is this a church that actually wants to serve our Savior and go out into the harvest and dark places or just play church for about 75 minutes on Sunday morning.

This is something I am painfully aware of, yet how do we show this reality to Catholic People and even to their Priests, who sometimes, not always, humanly, and let me stress "humanly" speaking are often far nicer precious people than we in our flesh might want to admit?

And then go on and be used by God to win them to Christ? I am really not asking anyone for anyone to feel they have to give an answer to this, as in my humble opinion it is something we must seek God for and about until He makes real His answer and we see Him using imperfect people like us to see sinners soundly saved.

Although, I can give a brief word of testimony ... while preaching outside the local abortion clinic, using the 10 Commandments as a loving school master, for preaching the Gospel (the greatest need is to see sinners there saved) a RC Monk who was there in my words was so touched for this "Baptist" he wanted to pray for me (and not to be RC either), he also wanted to come herar me preach in Church but his boss (priest) sent him to Ohio before he could hear me. Probably not a perfect example but a learning one for me.

I don't know the Governor of Florida
BUT I do like how he and his team in Florida gave comments of things they were doing to prepare for this devestating storm, encouraging people in Florida to flee, seek shelter, and help one another, etc

... I so wish more in Church leadership would be doing similarly to prepare people for the Serious Inescapable Persecution that is only a halfstep away from breaking out; and to equip, train encourage and go out with their people to evangelize and rescue as many as possible before uttler devestating burning righteous wrath of God that will come, comes upon all the ungodly sweeping them into hell forever.
