A good place to start for help with listening to the sermon would be www.sermonaudio.com/help or just type in HELP in the search box above.

We would remind all who post comments to these forums to please keep in mind the site's policy on personal attacks against other users of these forums. We urge everyone to exercise a modicum of restraint and decency when posting comments even if the subject matter can be somewhat contentious by nature. Thank you all for your cooperation.

We're glad you are enjoying this feature of the site. However, it was never the intention to "sing-along" with the Online Hymnal, but rather its purpose was to simply allow you to hear how the tune sounds for a particular hymn (if the music is available that is). There are other Hymnal programs that are available for "sing-along" type applications. One in particular that we are aware of which we will announce perhaps shortly.

Stuart, problems like this are usually related to (a) ISP-related problems or (b) programs running on the computer that may be interfering with the stream. Please be sure that neither of these are true. You may also want to try to use an alternate MP3 player (ie: WinAmp) to see if it helps.

Thank you for letting us know about the site goodnewsline.com. We DID NOT authorize for them to take the sermons from SermonAudio and make them available there. This is the first we heard about this. We will contact them about this matter shortly. In the meantime, we recommend any of our listeners to ask them (on behalf of SermonAudio) to remove from their site the sermons taken from our own (which appear to be quite many).

Furthermore, it appears that there has been a great deal of blatant copying of this site's graphics and style on their own. It is unfortunate to say the least.

Sometimes this can be due to a somewhat inconsistent connection on the customer's computer. Are you on dialup or highspeed? Also, are there any "firewall" type programs running that *may* interfere at all with the stream? The easy answer is to simply try to download the MP3 file completely and THEN playing it. I hope this helps.

I think anyone who visits this site enough will know that we very much take a conservative view on these and other social ills. We simply report the news as they appear in the major outlets. Thank you for your comments and we appreciate your keeping within the guidelines of the site when posting.

Dan, I believe the way to do it is to load up Windows Media Player (manually) and then go to "Tools/Options" menu. Then under the "File Types" tab, make sure that ALL checkboxes are selected. I hope this helps!

Our site editors comb the web and post news items that we believe will be of interest to the audience of this site. Dr. Paisley's sermons are broadcast exclusively on this site and is well-received by many who visit here. We feel this is not only newsworthy but of particular interest to our general audience. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions however.

To Ian, we are not experiencing any known problems with the servers running this site. You say that you have been having difficulties seeing the images from this site for over a week now? My suspicion is that there may be a problem with your ISP or a middle-man ISP? Who is your current ISP and do you have *any* kind of filter of any sort either on your computer or at your ISP-level?

Charles, what you may wish to try is to use a free tool called "dbPowerAmp" to convert the downloaded MP3 to a much higher *sampling rate* (like 22khz) and then try burning that to your CD. You can find a link to this free tool at www.sermonaudio.com/software

Dan, this sounds suspiciously like one of two things. There is perhaps a program running on your computer which is interfering with the downloading of MP3 files. It may be a simple "filtering" program or some kind of over-active firewall program. Please try disabling any of these programs and try again to see if it helps.

The only other thing I can suggest is what is found in the HELP section of the site. Here is the exact quote: "Be sure that "Content Advisor" is disabled on your browser (for Internet Explorer 4.0 and above). The "Content Advisor" (in Tools/Options/Content) disables the "Save Target As" menu option. This is by design according to Microsoft."

Does anyone else have any other ideas?

For the record, the icon in question was (to us) simply a "no-no" icon and did not signify any obscene gesture. However, we have decided to remove it from the site as not to offend. It's simply not worth the effort.. Thank you.

We would be much obliged if the folks who post comments on this site would not over-use the "smilie" icons. Please do not abuse the privilege to use these forums as it (still) does remain a free service to do so. Thank you for your cooperation.

We're glad you're enjoying the site! You should ask each broadcaster directly regarding permission to burn the sermons to CDs and distribute among friends but in most cases, this should not be a problem.

There are in fact tools/programs that will allow you to burn an MP3 file and create an Audio CD (that can play in any regular CD player). You can check out the links in our Tools section here:

To Lauren: Many MP3 players (hardware) have been mentioned in the comments below. These are all very good. I personally recommend the Creative Labs MuVo TX (flash-based, built-in USB, etc).

To Sam: Most MP3 players today are able to pause, stop, and resume from where you left off. If not, they are certainly able to fast-forward through MP3's without too much difficulty. As for splitting up MP3's into separate "tracks" or "files," I believe there may be some freeware tools out there that you can find to do what you want. Search on Google for "mp3 split" perhaps..

To Malcom,

Yes. There are some MP3 players that will not work with the lower bitrate of 16kbps. Most of the "brand name" MP3 players should however. I believe people using Creative, Rio, and Apple MP3 players so far have reported good success.

I'm glad you were able to get the solution quickly! It's difficult for us to know what exactly the problem is since everyone's computer is configured differently. But problems like these are almost 100% of the time related to another program interfering with the Transfer Agent.. as you have found. Thank you for sharing that!
