Fred, your comment is worth a lot to me.You see, I felt strongly that I do need to be on here to help someone that might not post but need some encouragement. I appreciate your posts as well. Thanks for the blessings I received from your comments.
John, a big thanks for helping me see things in a different light. Only God knows why and used you once again ( my mentor) to help me feel better about myself and being on this forum. I prayed about this and feel led to continue on and not listen to Satan’s discouragement. You felt the same way apparently and came back on here and so glad you did. Only problem my phone has you as JohnUk because I used that monkier so often it automatically brings it up even now. I will try harder and will follow your example..and others that have to forgive and be forgiven on this forum.
I feel really a little unsettled on here John , like I don’t belong and make too many waves and that bothers me. Maybe we’ll see one another in heaven someday when we are all perfected. Won’t that be wonderful??!! Anyway, thanks for being my mentor for awhile. Have a blessed life.
John, an apology for my recent angry response on the Easter thread to you and snarky remarks about another on here. No excuses, I was wrong and that’s that. Have repented and asked God’s forgiveness and asking for others I probably offended as well. So sorry forgive me ?? I think I am on here seeking Christian fellowship and all that which is really impossible with all the difference we have. Love in Christ
John, so glad to hear you say this because I have been put down called ecumenical, hurt by certain ones on here that wanted me off here through the attitude, just ignore her then because she’s heretic. Now, this same man, has no followers to speak of, because he threw them to the curb and now are where I was on here .you see, God will help you with this in his own ways and His own timing And plenty lessons learned along the way. ups, just to let you know, I knew you were actually talking to Douglas, but wanted to give my reason for not commenting on this subject and did despite my misgivings.
When Dr Tim went from that monkier to another was because of confusion by some of the dr,so He said well just call me plain Tim. Totally different than what JohnUk did. Stay off and then come back on as John Lee. Confusion for some but not me. I knew . Nice try ,Frank.
Fred, I liked your post and I agree. Jesus loved the sinners even ate with them which caused the Pharisees and Sadducee ( which by the way didn’t believe in the resurrection) to add that to their list of grievances The self righteous was the ones he gave fault to. As far as Easter goes, I agree, Quite Christian. Since I am Baptist, I find the snarky remarks of sc and John as offensive and judgmental and self righteous.I have observed Easter since I was a kid.As I got older, I attended sunrise services which I found wonderful, with hymns and preaching from one of the churches each year as they took turns. I loved the service and not the sun coming up and we all met in the football stadium on hard benches, which no one complained about, later we all went to our different churches to finish our Saviour’s resurrection celebration.
UPS, I have not commented on this thread because I am not comfortable debating on this issue. It’s not a big deal to me to argue about. However, since I am now on here; there was a woman in my small town of 700 who was a Jew that had to drive 60 miles to attend a synagogue there. She told us a story about a time when they were celebrating Passover and before the meal they always invited Elijah in and so a little boy was sent outside to look for him. When he came back and was asked if he had arrived. With a straight face he ,said, no I. didn’t see his car. Of course, everyone laughed, she said. She was well liked in our small community and was active in the activities going on in the community. As far as I know she never was converted into a Believer of Christ.
These that attack are what has been referred to as the spirit of the Antichrist. And will continue on until the real deal appears supposedly to bring peace among the people. Things are good for awhile does miracles even, through his false prophet but things change as he shows his true colors. And you think this is horrific, you ain’t seen nothing yet until the Man of Perdition is revealed. This can happen at anytime or any place and churches are a soft target. This will only get worse as we near the end of the age.
Hi, John a few minutes ago the news showed all the carnage done and reported 300 deaths so far.It was Islamist militants that sent suicide bombers but someone was behind it all and they are still searching for them.So sad for all those families.
Dr. Tim, we no longer live in the 1600s and the threat we face now are Muslims that have branched off into terrorism. Easter is being celebrated and churches attacked. One today’s news talked about was shown with at least 100 people dead with white cloth over them. There were many others attacked as well. Instead of attacking each other maybe we need to hold each other up in prayer.
I don’t really understand everyone’s theology on here but neither do I feel the need to.All I need to know is what has been revealed to me through the Holy Spirit that has been given me for this person. The AntiChrist will be one person .He will bring peace first then destruction when he sets himself up to be worshipped in Israel and the. rebuilt Temple. I don’t believe Jesus meant that there would be literally many antichrsts but the spirit of the Antichrist would be in the world until the end when the man AntiChrist arrives on the scene and we will be in the Great Tribulation when we will have the mark of the Beast in order to buy or sell. Has this prophecy been fulfilled and did I miss something here?? !! So strange that when we want to believe something to be true we can always find some links or some preacher that agrees and that should be all that’s needed. I am not following any man and if I am misunderstood so be it. I trust Christ and Christ alone.
He used my teaching gifts to start a Bible Study in our homes that helped our faith to grow and the pastor even came to one even though we were all the younger women in there. He was young as well , we were scolded by older members as well.Don’t try to find a perfect church because once you join, it will no longer be perfect.
The recent news is that the Notre Dame Church burned because of a short in faulty wiring . Christians, have always been persecuted, and that’s why Paul’s warnings have been to put on your spiritual armor of God because we fight not against flesh and blood but our warfare is spiritual, against the evil one. I don’t believe the building we attend church in is what’s important enough in God’s eyes to argue over. David wanted to build God a beautiful place to be worshipped in, his son had to do it. They worshipped in homes, in Catacombs because of persecution, Paul and Silas in jail. One Sabbath Paul went where Lydia and some women were praying by the river. He spoke to them and Lydia was saved, invited them into her home. You worship and bloom where you are sent by God with your spiritual gifts that are yours to be used by God for His purposes. Even in that Methodist Church I saw God’s hand as he used
Strange, that these things coming to pass reminds of what Jesus said to his followers, when these things come to pass, what things , the signs of His soon Coming. Prophecy being fulfilled. The stage being set . The next act, Antichrist appears. One sign, knowledge will increase, cannot be ignored. Just take a look back 100 years to the 1800s. My thoughts on this rainy morning in Texas.
Not the God, I serve, John, He can do anything and I have experienced it myself in my own life. And after Paul was converted, he in turn faced severe persecution, which he explained in his letters to churches he founded. Amazing Grace.
I have heard that when someone gets burned up in a house fire, that the only part of the body that is left is the heart I had two fellow Christians that chose to be cremated . It didn’t keep them out of heaven because no where in the Bible is that mentioned as a deterrent to heaven. Actually in the days of Christ, they weren’t buried always but put in caves. So why worry about how to be treated at death but am I living a life pleasing to God now!! Amen??
The really bad thing about this is that some future pastor goes to Seminary and are taught to question the miracles of the Bible. I attended the United Methodist Church a few years and one preacher was preaching this type nonsense even said that Mary was not a virgin and preached things that made you question truths of the Bible. It was only a few of us that actually stood against what he was saying. So your faith better be strong in Christ because Satan can even appear as an angel of light. So many actually believed in him and his message. I see God everywhere, in nature, my body and the world. I believe the miracles in the word of God .
